That’s for the compliment. So I also own the regular release of the ver Ka. That suit has three shades of red. I wanted to kinda recreate that. So I separated all the pieces out accordingly. All paints used is from Tamiya. For the 1st set I painted it 100% clear red (acrylic). 4 coats Let dry and then 100% clear red (lacquer) 2 coats 2nd set was 50% clear red and 50%smoke (acrylic) 4 coats Let dry and then 100% clear red (lacquer) 2 coats 3rd set was 100% clear red (lacquer) 4 coats If you don’t own the regular release. @neglectedgundam definitely War in the Pocket, I love the ground warfare compared to the space fights. I consider myself a fake fan I think the models are neat lol, I don't watch much Gundam or anime in general. Fave suit is Sazabi

I remember buying the dvds for war in the pocket. Never seen an episode before that. I loved it. I like the old school stuff more. The 90’s were the best for Gundam.

So many Layers!!! The spoons were a big help too. Not only did they let me see how many layers I needed. But I experimented with how long I had to wait In between. It actually went pretty fast. Thanks for recommending GX. They seem very popular. I’ll have to try them I took a gamble with the water. I didn’t have enough time to secure distilled water. My mother had a Heart attack soon after I started this build. So every other day I was at a hospital an hour away. She’s fine now after surgery. But on the days I wasn’t with her. I was pulling doubles and triples with this guy. So the water will just have to behave itself

This comment reminds me of the PS2 game Journey to Jaburo. They recreated the town from the anime. Don’t think I’ll do that. But I have such good memories of that game and playing it with my friends. Do you have a favorite Gundam game?

Ohh. Sounds like a huge diorama

(Inner frame). It is Tamiya Gun Metal X-10. It will only reflect and shine like that if you use this process. 1st. Gloss Black primer. 2nd. Gun Metal. 3rd. Gloss top coat. (Gatling gun barrel). Alclad 2 Chrome. Same layering process as above. Hope this helps

That sounds intense. Almost like you’re making a touch screen. I wouldn’t know what effect you are going for though. Maybe you can make a video of the end result when you are done. Buster and I am doing great.

I agree. 08th is top tier. I love the “normal” soldiers surviving the conflict. Plus the animation style. I watched it when I was 15 or 16. Still one of my favorites

Thank you for the compliment. There were so many amazing franchises just getting there start back then. Late 80’s early 90’s were the best. I remember collecting GI Joe, ninja turtles, x-men, Star Wars. Then I found a Zeta Gundam at my cousins place back in 2000. I said “is this a power ranger?”

Nylon hoses do look good. I didn’t have any of those though. Luckily I scratch built the cockpit hatch so it could open. It needs to be opened a little to get that ab crunch in. I thought about glueing it at first. Glad I didn’t. Then I bent the paper clips that hide in the springs. It also allows for the ab crunch. That being said. I haven’t moved the waist since I built it. Haha. I don’t want any unnecessary paint scratches. Thanks for the idea

I remember collecting a lot of transformers. I had a lot of the G1s as a kid. My brother and I constantly traded the original Optimus Prime back and forth. Hasbro has made a lot of cool stuff. I liked the beast wars line and the armada line. I think collecting transformers helped build my love of giant robots from an early age. Then I found Gundam when I was 14 and the rest is history

I haven’t really thought about lighting my kits. Maybe one day. Or if I get a commission. I’ll learn. I’ll keep your recommendation in mind. Little Buster is so full of energy. He loves to visit me in the art studio. Are you building anything?

Thanks man. It was a fun build. It’s been waiting since 2022 to get finished. So I’m excited to have done it. Now I can finally move onto other projects. But I feel bad cause all my next ones will be clear. And I know those aren’t your favorite. I’m gonna try to get them done quickly though. Haha. We got Buster in December of last year. He’s so full of energy and won’t stop eating

I'm a real big fan of the Gouf Custom. I have used it in a few of my custom work. So to see a 2.0 MG is awesome.

When I saw this resin conversion kit. I definitely knew I was gonna make one. The Gouf Custom is such a cool suit to me

It’s a Super G recast. I didn’t try to find the Neo Grade original. So far it’s been a little work for clean up and fitting. I’m gonna cross my fingers before painting. I’ve heard the shield can peel while masking

@@neglectedgundam I’ve painted them all as well.👍😎 It’s very fun to do. I’ve even made it where you can take the outer armor off and show off the inner workings and make it look like it’s in a repair bay if you wanted to.

Yes it is. Bandai sells the Lighting version which comes with the LEDs in the box. Or you can buy the white box version of Exia which does not contain the LEDs. But you can buy the LEDs separately and install them. Both Exia models are identical
