Preserving branches and leaves tutorial
Просмотров 46 тыс.5 лет назад
Green branches preserved with glycerin often turn sort of a greenish-brown color, not quite as vivid as the fresh leaves but still pretty. The copper beach I used kept their burgundy colour but a lighter brown colour came through too which was really nice. As for how long they last, it’s possible that carefully-stored preserved leaves might last for years. However, if you’re preserving them for...

I’m hoping to do this for my Christmas garland when adding extra foliage, thank you really helpful 😊
Thank you so much💚 I always seen videos where they completely submerge the plants in the solution. I will try this and experiment with ferns and pine as well 😁

Thanks so much, sorry silly question..these branches were fresh and alive so they could take up the solution??
thanks
Can you do a part 2 video of how it looks afterwards
Hey hoping you can help , will this work to preserve foliage in a miniature village
Can you do this with pine tree needles
Hi! wondering if you have tried adding coloring into the glycerin solution to preserve the green look of the leaves? If yes what is the proportion and choice of dye?
Hello there, I have silver dollar eucalyptus leaves without the stem, can you please advise what would be the best method to preserve them, so they can last and not become brittle and change colour. Thank you EMI
I'm a new subscriber, want to give kudos, as this was a very good tutorial. It would be great to see the preserved foilage in an arrangement. Thank you!
Is it possible to preserve cypress branches this way
Can you post the recipe.
I know you are new on RUclips but you have a TV on in the back ground and you talk so low and you have a strong accent. After watching the entire video I still don’t know what was 8 dollars mixed with the water!
Glycerin
Turn your TV off
Hi, Can you do the same with magnolia leaves ? I ask because I would like to an autumn 🍂 door wreath that can last at least for 5 years. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Copper Beech is so beautiful. Also... trim the bottoms of all the stems right before placing in the warm mixture. Food coloring can be added to the mixture as well, to preserve the color better 💙💜❤💖💗
Thank you so much. Now if I can find my glycerin, lol. Love your fridge, too.
Will this work for boxwood and should I add Green dye? Thanks
Yes and yes
is it possible to preserve evergreen braches like pine?
Cool!!
Can please write the procedure as.some of us we not good in understand while you are speaking.
How do you store them after they are done?
Brilliant video, thank you
Hi, what a great video, super helpful You mentioned in the vid that you'll be putting a list of branches / plants that can be preserved this way, do you mind adding the list? I'm interested if thicker branches e.g. 0.5-1inch in diameter would benefit from this method if i just maybe soaked them for longer/ in more solution.
How do you keep the colour of the plant when preserving them. For example I would to dry out eucalyptus branches for my wedding and don't want them brown and crunchy. How can I preserve them and keep them looking as green and fresh as possible? Thank you
Add food coloring to the glycerin mixture
Absolutely beautiful. Pity you lost sound at the end. Found you whilst looking for tips on how to dry ivy and holly .... just foraged a load to decorate with. Usually make wreathes from the ivy, but after seeing this might 'branch' out an add a few extra things this year:)
Too much background noise.
Very interested but couldn’t listen past the first few minutes because of Unbearable background noise. Was the TV on in the next room?
Interesting idea. I would have loved to see the result.
The sound is not very good. Your voice is too soft. The background sounds are too loud.
Its good idea does this ok for human consumption ? Because I have same leaves we use for consumption dose this way of preserving change the test?
God, no
How much glycerin did you use for for branches.
1 part glycerin to 2 parts water
I like the idea of putting just the ends of the branches in, since all the other videos I've seen are just of leaves, but I would have loved to see your end result.
Nice video. Too much background noise, though. Tks for the info
Kathryn: Have you preserved pussy willow branches? Does this method work?
What about palm tree leaves?
So cool. Where do you get your branches from ?
I get them from the Auckland Flower market but if you have a beech tree in your neighbourhood you can most definitely use that. Have fun!
