Good you’re working for Tri-Cities Disposal. You only do Front Loaders, what about side loaders doing Green, Blue and Brown. This is Seth’s truck. I know everybody’s trucks by the number. I know everybody in the company you’re the new one in the company. You’re like an extra person.
Yup. Well, just for right now I am helping out bcuz they need help.

You not with waste management no more??
Long story! I'll disclose and make a whole video on that. Very long story
What an amazing ride along!! What year, make and model of truck, body, engine and transmission? Please, please get more ride alongs on this one!!
Believe it is a 22. It's pete 520 with a paccar engine on a new way mammoth 40 yard body
@@ThePackMaster718 Awesome Andrew, hopefully you'll be able to get more of this one!!
I hope this is your new permanent truck, it's one of my favorites and I want tons more long ride alongs!!

Thank you! Big dawg!!!
This is cool!
Thanks! Will keep you entertained posting more soon!
by chance is this truck from alameda county
Idk where it came from. Did come from Sac I think. It now has been scrapped sadly
@@ThePackMaster718 too bad :( what's left in the king city fleet thats old?
@@WMAC_Master sadly. Everything got scrapped. Only thing left are the two split body rapid rails
@@ThePackMaster718 NOOOOOOOOOO they were the coolest yard 😭 i think i saw the wittke at a scrap metal place here
@WMAC_Master Remaining FELs are mediocre and painfully slow Heils. Side loaders mostly mini Zrs and finally first time ever have a full size Amrep ASL brand new pete 520 like Atascadero
now this is awesome King city is one of the coolest yards!
McNeilus has a unique whine to their pumps.😎 Nice work brother!
@@CoolHandMacc You already know! This truck sadly just got scrapped last week. No longer in service nor existent.
@@ThePackMaster718 oh wow!
@@CoolHandMacc Yeah. I miss her. Had a good mcneilus whine
@ThePackMaster718 glad that you were able to film it before they scrapped it.
@CoolHandMacc Yup. Out of all the waste industry. I can kindly say I learned to operate every truck out there. Front load is labelled to be the hardest and I agree but for me it's 2nd nature. Side loader is easy along rear loader. Roll is simple but I do place it to be the most pressure of all. A box overloaded, driver sorts it. A door is tweaked and not able to be closed back, driver has to problem solve or trouble shoot. A compactor has overloaded trash on ground and customer doesn't want it on ground but the back the taro already barely covers the load. I for that put roll off as the most simple on a good day but it certainly makes you aware of being tested on unknown situations.
Hey brother! How do you like rolloff in comparison to frontload?
I really like roll off, but, front loader is always my number one passion. I do prefer roll off over automated side loader. But, front loader is still winner for me by day and night.
Do you need experience to work at WM? I’m in the process of getting my CDL and sometimes I go on the WM website and see they are hiring for drivers.
If they desperate or you know someone you can definitely get in. If you don't know anyone then experience is only way. You can usually find a way to get in. Keep applying and after you have 6 months to 1 year experience, try it again.
@@ThePackMaster718 ok I see, thanks man.
Do you guys get a map or scanner to know where every stop is in the beggining?
I wish. It's all just from memory. I was trained 3 weeks and then I remembered every stop for each day
@@ThePackMaster718 yeah i work for Fedex they trained me and alot of knew guys like that, which they all quit but me. Lucky for my I update my scanner which shows a map🤣 cause my friend taught me. Getting my CDL soon, any advice?
@anthonyjimenez7447 My advice is take the job to your heart. When I got trained at different trash companies for experience. Every driver told me of all their trainees, I was the only one to take notes on my phone and journal. Then I'd print a map out once I knew then do it my own way. Takes notes of the street names and remember where the services are. The busy streets and the hotspots. Most importantly do what is easy for you. Commercial is just remembering how to get to the stops. Once you know where it is at and the customer name and the days it goes. It's easy. Residential is easy bcuz one day a week so you don't forget which area it goes. BUT it's alot of streets to cover so you need to study to not forget streets. My best advice is TAKE YOUR TIME. Regardless if trainer says you losing time. You have to drive YOUR way. Don't let anyone push you. If they want faster then they can drive
@anthonyjimenez7447 if you will be on a side loader. Be slow at first. Speed comes in time. Always remember to look what is behind the cans first before you play with the arm and grabbers. For example look if there's a mailbox behind or car to not knock it over or hit. And importantly when driving away....look at your convex mirror to make sure arm is stowed. For Front Loader and Roll off, watch overhead clearance and wires.
@@ThePackMaster718 Thanks bro I appreciate it! Any idea how long it takes to be eligible to do roll offs?
So question I do front load my self would you prefer a Mack or a Pete? And a heil or Mc me and another have been having a debt so I figured I’d ask another fellow driver
Never had driven a Mack so I can't tell you that one. I have driven a Pete, Condor, Volvo, Autocar. And the Condor was by far the best ride and turning radius along visibility. Peterbilts are great for aesthetics and luxury look inside. But they always have check engine lights and sensors. Autocars are cheap but are better working trucks. And as for the bodies the Mcneilus has been a better body than the Heil.
@@ThePackMaster718 i agree with all that lol our 520 stays with a check engine or a bad sensor especially on the def system
@301trucking yepppp. Also I don't like Heil's slow hydraulic system. They made it painfully slow. And can't bang cans hardly.
Why did you take the lock of the locking bar around 7min mark? It should release in it's own.
No it doesn't release on it's own. They don't have any of those locks. Maybe you're thinking a dummy lock. The lock was tightly locked against the lid. So you can't open it. Have to unlock and lock it
Where were you operating the rapid rail? Just curious

Whoa! I didn't know you knew how to run an ASL! You did a fantastic job! What year is this particular truck? I assume this one's an Autocar WX64 with an ISM, right? Will you be running this truck again? Amazing video my man Andrew! And what an absolute sharp truck! I assume this is your normal truck, or is it the WX64 McNeilus? What year is this particular truck? Got a beautiful sound to that L9 Cummins engine! Keep the incab videos coming my friend!
Your office looks exactly like mine minus the rabbit ears controls. I love the acx chassis. Does your truck have air ride? All our new trucks are coming without air ride they are brutal on bumpy roads. Your route looks very rural how many stops do you average a day?
This route I am covering it. The regular driver is covering other routes lately. Our location we have weird front load routes called odds and evens. Basically bcuz some are are rural, example is this Monday I'll go get a stop one side of the road. Next week I'll go the opposite side and skip the side I got this week. Some stops are every other week. And some are once a month. And some every week. But short monday only 54 stops and around 65 lifts. Long mondays are 66 stopns and 75 lifts.
Mondays I go in at 5 AM. Fridays I go in at 4 AM. That one has an odds and evens too. Both weeks I go through San Miguel. But the long fridays I go to parkfield way out in the boonies. I average over 250 miles that friday. Just for 7 tons in one load.
@@ThePackMaster718 That's weird how they do it there. Our commercial fel routes have stops that go 6x a week. Routes vary by commodities, stops start from high 60s to 160 a day. Recycle gets the most daily stops here. Odd and even is done in residential recycle for some reason I dont know why they dont get weekly service they have the volume.
@GarbageGus Oh here I'm doing the 3rd fel route. This route is just a monday and friday route. There's two othet full time drivers that have 5x week routes. Our most experienced driver is Rene who has been on front load for 40 years
Nice video man keep going
Is wm keeping the older mid state trucks?
They retired one roll off and two front loaders. All the side loads still there. I no longer for that yard. I work in King city now. But the old team told me they got rid of a few. The white gmc able body I think it was. Truck 12 and the old pete 320 amrep as well.
This truck is one of my favorites!! Will you be able to do that video request on this truck for me? Please let me know ASAP.
Sorry bud. I barely saw your comment. I think maybe in the near future.
@@ThePackMaster718 sounds good buddy, keep me posted!!
We used to have a few of these here in L.A back then, they were all sold off or sent to other yards in 2017 alongside a bunch of Wittke's. Nice to see what was once a common sight in my area still running strong in 2023.
Thanks for the comment. I'll be posting more footage of different trucks too. Stayed tuned and patient.
Whoa!!! Is this your new truck? I’d love a super long in cab driving video, complete with engine startup and tons of runs through the gears and cruising, the ISM in this baby sounds so good and I want to hear it out on the road!! Please let me know ASAP.
Did you start on Front-load from the beginning or did you do rear-load before getting to front load?
Started on back of a rear loader
@@ThePackMaster718 My brother is currently driving a rear load for a local company on some of the larger routes solo as soon as he gets someone trained he's going to front load he hopes its nicer than dealing with highway stops but he knows theres alot more to watch for with the heights
@dustinsudkamp3722 yes. So for rear load, height is 9 to 11 ft. With a front load you are 13'6" arms up. With can in air dumped. You are like 17 to almost 20 feet. So take that in perspective. LOOK UP! Always look up bcuz that's the hazards there. Stick head out the window everytime if not sure.
@@ThePackMaster718 Thanks he hopes being in our town and surrounding towns will be nicer than working along the highways in the area the company has 2 2019 Mack MR/Mcnelius and right now 1 runs 3 days a week they are building a route out the plan is for him to be the first full-time front load guy the current one is only part time he hopes the change from rear load to front load will be a good one its been his dream to operate one since he saw them as a kid and since the 2 arrived at the yard
@@ThePackMaster718 how does front load compare to rear load on rainy days or winter days is it nicer or about the same?
Ah, a new Pete 520! How do you like the 520 compared to your 320? This one's got the Allison 4500 transmission, one of my favorites! Do you happen to know what year this one is? Sometime tells me it's a brand new 2023 model. I assume Amrep body? Did you get my video request on the 2004 Volvo WXLL CWS? I hope you'll be able to drive it soon so you can do it for me! Please let me know ASAP.
Heyy bud! This is a 2022 Pete 520. This isn't my truck as much as I'd like it. One of our front load drivers was on ASL so it was up for grabs while my truck was in the shop. It is an older body refurbed on the new chassis. The volvo, I'll see what I can do. The company doesn't me to use it unless necessary. Otherwise they'll have me use someone's truck rather than the spares since it's too slow. They don't want me to get behind in them. If a chance comes and Ik, I'll film it though.
@@ThePackMaster718 Sounds good my man Andrew, keep me updated on the Volvo situation! In the meantime though, I'll enjoy the newer trucks you're running for now!
I bet your missing that steering wheel spinner handle..
I'm glad you commented! It was just a title. This isn't my truck. When I recorded this, the regular driver was on side load that day. His front loader(this truck) is just parked, not used during the day. My truck was in the shop so I took this one .
That’s cool! At least you had a spare to jump into..
@johnbarcellos684 Yes. I love this truck. Only problem with it is the arms lag when being raised and stopped. I love how the forks can overextend to roll the cans out. As for packing, pretty decent. Packer though moves slow despite being revved. But I give it a 7/10.
Yea my Heil forks do the same..I roll bins off…I notice your arm/fork control are opposite of mine..
@johnbarcellos684 yes it is. Mine are like the og heils. Forks on left and arms on right. I'm going to do a different vid one of these days. Different angle.
Another day at the office!
Yup sure is! Love Front Load. My childhood passion. Sharing my adventures
Same here..Out of all my jobs in my life Frontload is the most enjoyable! And the day flies by..
@johnbarcellos684 I remember you said you had started out or you been at it for a while? I've been at it for only 10 months. Almost a year. Been in trash for 2 yrs tho
@johnbarcellos684 what kind of truck you drive? I am learning a new technique from some vets tbh. In these vids I heel toe. Some drivers pull the brake. But I've been driving as of now with two feet. Takes time to get use to the left leg and not be sore lol. What you do?
@johnbarcellos684 Yeah. My left leg gets pain in my thigh area and groin doing it for long time. Keep doing it, if that doesn't work out meaning pain continues. Then try learning heel toe. Brake with your right foot and see if you can plant your middle and upward of your foot on brake and curve it inwards where your heel is hitting the throttle. I learned that way. If not, then brake with your right foot until you almost like 3/4 into your can then about there while still rolling forward shift to neutral. The truck should be rolling really really slow now brake the rest of the truck with your left foot and throttle with your right. So most of the braking should be done with your right foot. Just at the last minute where the truck is almost fully stopped change your feet. Experiment all different ways. Even I am still learning.
Hello - I would like videos with this view and a driver POV please. Do you have to really do a mount for a hopper view but could you please send me a name of a mount for the top of your garbage truck please. Ah yes, another great one! Love that takeoff at 24:12, that ISL9 sounds so good going through the gears! Now, back to that 2004 Volvo. Do you happen to know if that 2004 Volvo WXLL is running the ISM engine? You know I really want to hear what it sounds like! If you can drive it on a rural run this week, please, please do a super long in cab ASMR style video with engine startup at the beginning, plenty of runs through the gears, cruising, etc. I want as much uncut footage of it as possible, including an engine startup when you're about to leave the yard - I want to pretend that I'm going out on a run in it when I'm listening to it! Make sure to make it as long as possible. For me, the longer the better! Please let me know ASAP.
Where did you go lol.
I went somewhere haha 😂
Welcome back my man Andrew!! It's been a long time, but so glad to see you've posted again!! I assume you're still running this truck? If so, I'd really appreciate it if you'd do that super long ASMR I requested a while back with everything I requested - I'd like to fall asleep and relax to the beautiful sounds of that ISL9 Cummins! If you can do it, when will you get it done? Please let me know ASAP.
Been a while. I am running this truck. However, the shop may keep it for sometime as the body is currently building rust and creating holes throughout the inside of the body where the packer rubs the floor board. So it needs work.
@@ThePackMaster718 if that’s the case, what will be your new truck? Hopefully one with either an L9, X12 or an ISM - the ISM is another favorite Cummins engine of mine!

Learning the front load myself. Gotta Lear to get the forks straight up after dumping … been tapping the cab shield a couple times. I’m on my own after this week. Damn.
Are you overextending them down or not tilting the can down and leave it up? So for this, look at the spot mirror and use the body or cab shield as reference point. When forks look parallel that means it's straight and bring the arms down. If you have a hopper camera, look at the dumpster and wait for it to be almost square 90 degrees with the hopper.
