This is an awesome video. Great job to all.
In 1995 I rode my bike from Alaska to Las Vegas, on the way I stopped off at Durango to watch RAAM pass through that control. A German crew member (a doctor) called in demanding some saline solution to infuse his rider! He was sent off to a local hospital... My Aussie mate, Gerry Tatrai came through and I rode a little way with him (Gerry won the solo section of RAAM in 1993 and 1998)
Commenting 5 years after the fact but you'd think they could have some sort of electronic push updates to the route.. like a online route book, you know? Very inspiring video. Thanks for sharing
I wonder why they call this the toughest race? The Trans America Bike Race is self supported which seems harder to me and these guys took turns riding...Trans Am racers have to do the whole thing alone. I am by no means saying this is an easy race but as an observer, it would seem the Trans Am is way harder. These guys seem a bit spoiled in comparison with their fly weight bikes, their roaming mobile air conditioned rest vehicles and such.
Different race for different people
A bit like child birth, the riders being the mother and the crew being the father . With out each other it would not be possible . I am envious of all of you . Very special .
