Emmanuel the color correction/color grading difference was needed. I’m struggling bc I just realized I’m trying to create an impossible effect and without this tiny differentiation in your video I’d have kept going in the wrong direction and frustrating myself. Thank you future king. 2:31

@minlafelix you need to load the luts on premiere pro or whatever software check the video “what is a lut” towards the end there’s instructions on how to use it.

Thank you again, Emmanuel. How do you suggest one workaround for a 4k 10bit 4.2.2. H.264 video recorded on Sony to be imported in Davinci Resolve (Free) as it doesn't always load the video on Mac only the audio does? Thank you
Great video Emmanuel! I have two questions: 1. Can I use Dehancer to start grading straight from Slog3 to achieve a good grading or there needs to be some color correction first before jumping into dehancer? 2. Can Dehancer lite do the same job as achieving that cinematic look or only the full version can allow that? Thank you.
1. of course dehancer has inbuilt color profiles of various cameras this assures perfect color management without the need for converting to rec709 by hand , that said you don’t necessarily need any adjustments before dehancer, in the premiere pro illustration all edits where within dehancer. 2 with dehancer lite you get all film stocks grain bloom and other effects, what you’d be missing would be the halation and gate weave and if you’re using resolve the inbuilt halation is not so bad and to think of it it’s not every time halation is necessary.

Great video ! But I can see you’re not using conversion lut from log to rec709 ? The basic correction you did is basically the equal of this conversion lut ? (So was it right to say that your footage was actually converted into rec709 ?)
The intent of this video at the time of recording was to attempt to grade without using luts , however after years since making this tutorial , I believe to be completely color managed with a sound technical LUT is always going to beat hand/display referred color space conversion, this is discussed in this video ruclips.net/video/Y0N6npX37jo/видео.htmlsi=0aVhL3m5UzDcM-Vx

Revival lut is a rec709 lut , after color management of your Blackmagic footage you can use it as a creative finish
