I feel like this is our best chance to truly become a city people overseas would consider. We get the most tourist than any other major Texas city but I feel there's not enough international visitors and major companies willing to move here. I mean Houston, Dallas, and now Austin just have the better infrastructure overall, I'm not including Austin's non loop having ass highways And still no light rail in sight even a direct route from Downtown to SAT

The San Antonio-Austin Metroplex deserves one large airport between both cities similar to DFW. SAT is landlocked and can't grow the way it needs to, the way it should be to attract airlines like British Airways, Lufthansa, Emirates, Air France, Qatar, Quantas etc. I'm sure the skyline view driving down 281 South to downtown was why they didn't consider having it moved to the old Kelly AFB. They didn't want travelers driving up IH-35 from SouthPark Mall 😂

Is it 24/7 shuttle?

The San Antonio Int'L Airport exit does not put you on Jones Maltsberger Rd, it sends you to the terminal. Option 1: Take the Jones Maltsberger Rd exit, then cut across 2 lanes to turn R on Dee Howard Way, and use the north entrance to the lot. Option 2: Take the Airport Blvd exit, turn L on Northern Blvd, and use the south entrance to the lot.

Since the airport only had a little over 9 million passengers and Austin had over 21 million passengers I don't see the need for so many more gates. Austin will be building a new mid field terminal because we are out of space with 33 gates.

Lovely. Hopefully, it gets used. I'm sure you'll get those that are going to say why do they have to hide , but everyone is not sane out there. So it's best to have a safe and clean place while you're feeding and bonding with your child. I work at SMF airport and have reported creepy men who were watching and making obscene gestures and / or filming women when they were doing it in public. This post isn't about shame. It's about safety.

I'm always embarrassed when I have to pick up a guest from the airport. The inside decor is stuck in the 70's and the baggage claim area is small and looks like an afterthought. It's time to dig deep and build a new airport. San Antonio has been one of the fastest growing cities for the last 10 years or so. Anyone remember Stapleton in Denver. S.A. International and Stapleton, one in the same.

I’m also rooting for SAT, but I don’t see any mention or provision for future public rapid transit accessibility. And if this is supposed to be looking forward to 2040, I’d have hoped to see some mention. Most world class airports have some kind of accessibility other than car. Even LAX will have a direct light rail transit link, much less than ideal, but hey, it’s a start. Maybe, just maybe, San Antonio will have some sort of rapid transit by 2040…..

I'm pulling for San Antonio to have success with this project, but SAIA is landlocked and can't really grow out anymore. It's likely that any new construction will be the last on this site. San Antonio needs to consider looking at new land for a new airport down the line.
