Honda Ridgeline Ported MDX Intake Manifold & Intake Spacers: Install & Review
I ported, polished, and resealed an intake manifold from an Acura MDX and then milled out some 1" thick lower intake manifold spacers, then installed it all and I show you the process how to install it.
When all was said and done, I drove this combination around for over a month and I have noticed a good increase in drivability and bottom-end torque. It's significant enough that I now drive with the economy button turned on all the time!
No more annoying sluggish bottom end.

Chrysler 360 LA: Tearing Down a Mystery Small Block and Finding a 30-Over Surprise!
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.14 дней назад
A couple months ago, we picked up an unknown condition Chrysler 360 from a machine shop. The owner of the shop said the engine had been there for years and he didn't know anything about it. We decided to buy it because we thought it would be fun to tear apart an engine from the 3rd small block family that no one seems to talk about. Everyone talks about the Ford and Chevy small blocks, but what...

2.3L Focus RS Engine Teardown and Talking About The Head Gasket
Просмотров 1964 месяца назад
We found a used 2.3L Focus RS engine, and it was cheap too! We bought this engine from a guy who bought it as a core from a dealership. From the outside it looked intact, so the issue must be something internal. We've been looking for one of these engines for a while. There's a lot to talk about with this engine, such as the head gasket issue and how it relates to the 2.3L Mazda L engine found ...

Adding Factory Mirror Spot Lights to a 2015-2020 Ford F-150
Просмотров 6054 месяца назад
In this video, I add factory mirror spot lights to my 2018 F-150. This is an option that didn't come on my truck, which is an XLT with the "Sport" trim. Adding this option requires installing some components and adding extra wiring to the mirror and doors. It also requires the use of FORScan to activate the feature once all the hardware is installed.

@randybillygarage What's the tube at the front of the manifold used for? If you look at the airbox, you'll see a MAF sensor just before the flexible intake tube. The combination of the two types of sensors allows for better fuel control and self-diagnostics. A custom tune will do you lots of good! Loved the video. Thanks for sharing! PS When torquing stuff down, start from the middle, out, and unbolt stuff from the ends, in.
Any CEL? You probably need to upgrade MAF sensor and injectors to feel the gain. The ECU is probably going to relearn everything eventually so it can be more econmical with gas.
Most ECUs will adjust within about 20-30% +/- fueling before they throw codes out. This vehicle operates on speed/density instead of mass airflow so the MAF sensor in the intake tube is likely either just used for temperature or is used as a backup in case the MAP sensor dies. I have an ultraguage 2 that I use for monitoring and the before/after difference in fuel trims has been at highest 12 percent fuel added in the mid range trims, at idle it's the same trims as the original manifold. As soon as hptuners or ktuner or hondata come up with a way for me to tune this truck, I can show exactly the before and after airflow through the engine and I can actually tune it myself.

@Dur4m4x EGR tube
I dunno. I have a '24 TrailSport and after watching all the work you put into this, you didn't gain very much. It is after all a midsize pickup, not a racer.
I really shouldn't have included the before and after acceleration videos because this modification is a powerband shift, i.e. torque at rpm, and not a wide open throttle improvement. I would like to get dyno time to measure the part throttle and full throttle torque in the mid range at the same throttle percentage, but it will have to wait until I can find a dyno and get the two manifolds ready to be swapped one after the other.
Nice
super informative brother thank you 🙏 God bless and happy holidays 🎄
Cool Old Engine
Omg, really. Angle spark plug, and you know very little about distributors. Thumbs down
Happy you did an LA video, would love to see more. It is funny to watch you look at it like it came from Area 51 though LOL.
That little v-groove on the rod cap is used to oil the bore and piston underside on the opposite bank. Piston cooling, old style
What's the big mystery 🤔
The guy who sold us the engine didn't know anything about its condition. It could have been a good engine, or it could have been junk. That's why we called it a mystery.
It makes me feel old watching you guys identify the Chyrsler electronic ignition as the electric spinning thing. No points just a reluctor and a magnetic pick-up.
Your engine was missing the oil slinger off the front of the crankshaft. It goes on after the crank gear and before the timing cover. It is to keep oil off the front seal and help lubricate the timing chain. The notch in the connecting rod is not to let additional oil in, it is an oil squirter that sprays oil on the bottom of the cylinder walls and camshaft area. Also for reassembly, your rocker shafts have a notch in one end. That notch always goes down and to the left as you are facing each cylinder head. If you do not have it in that position it will not oil the rockers properly.
Thanks for info. We do want to reuse this engine so we'll search around for an oil slinger.
hoosk·vaar·nuh
You completely skipped the clockspring removal bro lol
Man i want to get this but on the website it said not compatible with adaptive cruise control module and i think my 17 fusion sport had all that features
Code 52 pop, now watching this video for timing belt replacement 😊
Me leaving a crap in the toilet ,meanwhile bro… “someone might actually be able to use this”💀
Because it's cheaper to give you the headache than for them to deal with it... and probably every housing is slightly different 🤷♂️
That was fun to watch. I have been working with a manual changer to replace tires on a couple cars. This machine provides accommodation for just about every struggle I faced.
Still got the groceries 🧓🏻
As much use as a wax fire guard.....
what resistor did u use for the airbag
I believe it was a 3 ohm
Aren't they tyres, not tire. Too tire is to be fatigued....???

I'm sure my GTA is due for this. I gotta get the rag joint replaced first though since I'm sure that's most of my issue.
I did this with my brother. Terrible experience, great to look back on. Went with no water and drank the lake water
I'm taking a a few friends this Sunday for hiking. They say they can "handle it" 😅
What wire did you use
I used 22 AWG.

Will the zzp downpipe though a CEL ?
Yeah unless you program/tune your ECU
How did you fix your surging idle?
The IAC was old and sticky and the throttle has a screw that wasn't set right. We also had the vacuum lines for the PCV set up wrong and we needed to plug the hole going down to the EGR block off plate since that was leaking too. My suggestion is to turn the idle screw on the throttle body out until it's flush with the housing, get a new IAC Valve, and T your two valve cover PCV ports together into one and run them to the air filter side of your throttle body so that it's not getting high amounts of vacuum at idle. That fixed it for me.
Thanks for the lesson. Hope to get to my 68 Tempest 2dr HT soon. Great job. 👍
It's in great shape for it's age.
One of my favorite engines. My father in law and i rebuilt an 80's f250 that had been t-boned taking the passenger door all the way to the frame. We used another truck to pull the cab back into shape. Did some body work and called it good. Once the trans started showing issues we sold it off. Great experience!
I love that you put him in the thumbnail
ive never seen a 460 with factory grey valve covers....what year is it
It most likely came out of a van.
9dte-ab was the casting on the block so I think it was a 79+. It also had e6ae-9c485-adt on it
How long did this fully take you?
Don’t know why RUclips recommended me this but awesome
divorced dad fit era
Very detailed and thorough video
Great angles and info during the swap. Car looks awesome, and I look forward to the next update!
Isnt there a way to lock the serpentine belt open?
Is the Lincoln mkz better than the fusion sport in some ways? I have been seeing a couple part swaps already.
The Impeller side of the turbochargers on the 3.0 in the MKZ is slightly larger which lends to some more power, that and the larger displacement help it make 400 from the factory which is 75 more hp than the fusion sport has stock.
Can you show the pig tail connector better so I can see how to disconnect mine do you squeeze it and pull or pull up on it and pull
Hey do you do installation for others? How much would you charge if I already have the part?
No Honda Eclipse?
In a parallel universe it existed and was as good as the supra
Love yooooou
You are awesome!
I changed the bulbs and the sequential ones were not detected, do you know how to fix it? greetings from Chile
We didn't have to change anything, but it might be possible to change to sequential using a program called FORScan and a cheap j2534 adapter from Amazon. Lots of tutorials on forums about this software.
does the sequential turn signl automatically work?
It did for us, but I think Billy's mustang already had sequential signals from the factory. I honestly can't remember, sorry
The bar is for when you need to remove the cam gears
What a goof 😂😂😂😂
