Winnipeg Transit 1995 New Flyer D40LF 658 on the 65 Grant Express to Downtown
This video showcases Winnipeg Transit 658 (ex-Calgary Transit 7578) running the 65 Grant Express towards City Hall. This journey has us start on Roblin Blvd at Harstone Road, travelling eastward into downtown where we get off at Portage and Smith.
658 had a Detroit Diesel Series 50 engine and an Allison B400R4 transmission. This bus is now retired.
Sadly, less than 10 of the 1995s in Winnipeg remain at the time of uploading.

Translink 1998 New Flyer D60LF 8020 on the 49 to UBC

Man, do I miss these beasts of a bus so much... Once again we go several years back in time to one of my older clips of the second-to-last flipdot D60LF in service, 8020. We take a ride on the 49, westbound towards UBC, featuring higher speeds as we travel past crown onto SW Marine Drive. Not sure when this was taken exactly but I believe it's sometime during early 2019.

Starting in Summer 2023, an "experimental" 23 express was implemented in light of popular demand for the route. During weekend evenings, extra service on the 23 was provided with 40 foot buses. In this video we take a ride on this D40LF from English Bay to Main Street SkyTrain Station. 7443 had a (weird-sounding) Cummins ISL engine and an Allison B400R engine. This bus as well as all other reve...

We take a night ride on an almost-retired species in Translink's fleet running a special occasion that happens during the PNE fair, where the Renfrew portion of the 16 receives extra service with articulated buses. The ride on this D60LFR features its last trip of the block, travelling from the PNE stop down to 29th Avenue Station. 8108 has a Cummins ISM engine and an Allison B500R6 transmissio...

Continuing to upload LF videos from Winnipeg, this video showcases taking a smaller-sized D30LF, which I personally like to refer to as "the little bus that could", on a ride from Grace Hospital down to Charleswood to get off at Eldridge and Harstone. Something to look out for that's not transit-related are two deer I saw walking into someone's driveway. 940 has a Cummins ISC engine and an Alli...

Here we are with another throwback video back in either late 2017/earlier 2018 (can't remember) on long-gone Translink 1996 New Flyer D40LF 7197 on my once-usual commute back in the day... at this time I think there were very few D40LFs at the time in VTC explaining why I have multiple recordings of this specific unit. We take a trip on this bus the 33 UBC along 16th avenue from Cambie to Burra...

This is what could potentially be the last recorded video of a Translink LF running in regular revenue service, also resulting in the last ride I'd get with the model (although a slow one, thanks Broadway construction 🙄), as the last of them have faced their demise by now. We take one final ride on a Translink D40LF on the 9 to Alma, travelling from Burrard to Trafalgar in this video. Video was...

Should've recorded at the rear
Scrap
scrap
On June 22, 2020, it got dieselized.
Any chances they can last till next summer? Really wanna plan a trip to get them
It's unlikely, there's potentially only less than 10 of them remaining
bro copied us
unfortunately
nice try diddy.
L bus 🧌
so janky and theres no driver barriers or security cameras horrible buses
All hail Dan 🙏
Been so long since I’ve heard that sound
I recognize this setup anywhere, this is a Detroit diesel series 50, new flyer D40LF, B400R type transmission
Nice try diddy
nice try diddy
Good bus better than the 09 hevs
TRAITOR
imagine no squeal, ct d60lfrs better!!!!!!!!!!
what happened to having a rear window?
bad
ur bad
-bruh-
diesel chugging piece of crap
Scrap30LF
Nice
Nice video! keep it up
29 years old and still going! How much more time do these have in Winnipeg?
With the new orders coming in you could say it's a bit unpredictable but may unfortunately not last that far into the future. Give or take it's possible that the remaining ~15 units in this series are gone next year
flipdots were hard to read thank god this bus is in the scrapyard
The xn40s are more comfy and have a better engine then the older buses its more quiet and they dont catch on fire every day
Scrap metal
I like the D40LF’s that have this engine compared to the 2000 version
I agree it's more iconic
So hot
I keep forgetting that there are only 2 units here (only.)
Not electric bus anymore
i wanna try those seats one day!
Bad bus bad video should've been an LF and should've been at the back 🤓
No XN40s are bad
WOOO… Glad to have something different for once
Dan’s favourite ❤
What a beast, great video!
Finally get the garbage out of here
excuse me what garbage?

0:04 340 "SCOTTSDA" 😂😂 ITS SCOTTSDALE!!
How was a 1995 D40LF in Winnipeg still running, but the one in Vancouver retired?? 😢
Maybe Winnipeg is just built different. 🤣 All jokes aside, on top of the many other ISC/ISL LFs, there are around 17-18 of the 1995s still running today, which all but two of them have series 50. Meanwhile here in CMBC, it's probably safe to say you won't be seeing an LF in service again.
I’m surprised this old trolleybus is still able to run on the current overheard wires
I miss the D60LF’s 😢
1) Idk if it was necessary to change some of the characteristics on the outside of the bus lol 2) Do they still have the powered axle for the rear wheels?
The ISC sounds really good on this bus
I like how the seats more resemble BC Transit Xcelsiors :)
im not a fan of the higher tops on the XDE60s but nice bus ride
These ones got a slightly higher top hoods than the 2023 models.
Good eye
why wouldnt you sit in the back
Not everyone has to sit in the back
@@JosephLikesTransit no shit, but it's a new gen of BAE (HDS300 vs GPM-12), and if you sat in the back, then you would hear the differences
@@thyssenFILMSI haven’t rode it yet so I don’t know what it sounds like
@@JosephLikesTransit how is that related to what i was saying - i’m saying why didn’t the dude who uploaded this video sit in the back, if he did we could know what it sounds like - what are you on about
First of all, I decided to check out and sit in the middle of the bus to get a sense of what's changed in terms of not only the different seating configuration, but also any unique sound that comes with the powered middle axle, which obviously is the case here. I could have sat anywhere and I decided myself that I should sit there. Second of all, who the hell are you to dictate where I should be sitting to record? Last time I checked, this video was recorded by ME and posted on MY channel, not yours. If you're that desperate to know how the back of the bus feels, why don't you go check it out and record it yourself? Maybe you should do that instead of being a complete asshole to other transit enthusiasts by telling them where to sit for their own recording.
Very nice! I went on this one today on the 145 SFU, the powered center axle definitely made acceleration over the hills easier!
That will be no more jackknife as well
Better for winter too especially snow
Ugh I miss these.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
