Growing up I really admired and loved Roy Keane, growing up in the city of Manchester through the 90s... but now I'm older and his attuide even to this day is actually really shit. He can't even admit any wrong doing, saying that the lads didn't need an appology because I must have looked like I regretted it, then later says "I don't regret any of them" He was actually an angry little man who couldn't control his emotions, not a hard man, a guy who fights in a non contact sport is a coward.

I have memories of Jim Langley, playing for Fulham at left back. He had a very similar long throw, which, of course, was as good as any corner kick.

I remember Dave challenor of tranmere rovers had a throw similar.

I lost all respect for Keane after what he did to Haaland sr. Ruining someone's career like that. He should have gone to prison.

One thing that I only notice in retrospect is how few players stoke had in the box. They had 3 men deep in the box and another 2 in and around. That is a level of attacking efficiency that most managers would perform dark rites to Cthulu for. It lets them keep men back to be secure and also forces the opposition into a dilemma of choosing to bring all there players back and giving stoke possession to just hoof in crosses or leave players up and risk being out gunned in the box. And to top it off, you get so many more throw ins that corners and free kicks in a game that you get so many opportunities to practice those attacking movements whereas the opponent only gets the couple games against stoke a season to practice defending it. Actually remarkable tactics from Pulis.
