Coming on four weeks with Boone, the sorrel, and couldn’t be happier with the progress he has made!!! So much so, that he helped me work Lobo, the buckskin colt we just got in!!! Slowly moving Boone around and having him pay attention to me is what I’m shooting for. His stop keeps getting better, and so are his turns!!

Enjoyed a beautiful sunset in the arena!! “Cuervo” is starting to really put everything together!! It is hard to believe that he has been on live cattle for a month and a half!! Also, hopped on “Pamela” after a month of siting in the pasture…she doesn’t skip a beat!!! Overall a great practice with friends!! Been working on tracking and collection with both “Sunday” and “Legend” these last couple of weeks. Mostly with the dummy in order to maintain total control and slowly easing cattle into the mix. Both of these geldings are easy to work with and have very willing attitudes. We’re taking it slow so that we don’t develop bad habits in the box or out in the field!! Got the chance to go rope with my buddies Lewis and Brett in beautiful Deleon Springs, Fl. They have been roping this set of cows for well over two years and they’re still running strong! I hopped on Frosty(16h ) gelding from the famous Judd Little ranch using Lewis’s saddle…and with the stirrups all the way up…they were still longer than I’d like!! 😂 but, we made it work!!
