Pilot #AskDeafCode Nominated for the College Television Awards.
2:49 “døv” representing German is about to give me nightmares
The background is distracting the subtitles 🙄
I feel like this should be in MTV channel
Y’all should be in TV! This is definitely championship I love it!
We need to educate people. They honestly don't know. I'm hearing however my grandson is deaf. I'm learning sign language. There are so little resources for him. I'm realizing how little. It's sad to say. But I hope to make a difference and give support to anyone that is deaf 🙏
This session 1 reminds me of the book, For Hearing People Only. I was required reading in ASL #1. A most excellent and informative book.
*kiss fist* Love this!! Please make more videos to share! <3
Only two videos? and 6 years ago. This is a great video.
Im a hearing person and am just learning ASL. I LOVE this video bc tho I know only a few deaf people, they are my good friend's family, they know and will forgive any and all bad habits I might form and I do not ever want to be thoughtless to them or to any HoH or deaf person. Thank you for this - enlightening and HILARIOUS!! More please!
Guys I hate the ignorance, do a chat on G uni, work with live transcribe. Show the world HOW we get around.
What cutie pie girls !!!!!!!
So cool. I've taken a couple of ASL classes and really enjoyed them. I'm in my mid-thirties now and don't have anyone in my life to sign with so it's mostly gone to waste, but I do have a cousin living in another state who's an interpreter. I would love to become fluent and use this skill but I'm not quite sure where to start again. Probably my local community college would be a great place to start.
This is very inspiring! Hoping for more :-)
I feel bad cause I get excited to watch deaf people communicate as I'm learning irish sign language and its rare to come across people. But my sign isnt good I just love the cultures and language. I'll be more cautious about it now
Bring this show back! I was so sad to find it and see only one episode :-( Great episode though, wish there was more.
This video was great! I'm hearing and already learned all this stuff but this is useful for hearing people who don't know any better. More videos!
It's like they're trying to convince us to be deaf
Come over to the Deaf side. Seriously though they’re explaining they don’t think being deaf is terrible and or lives are terrible
This was interesting, but I found it difficult to follow be cause of the different backgrounds used. They made it difficult to focus on the signing or the captioning.
Hahahaalk of that is sooooo true ..i am deaf ..so yea all of tat is true
Should do more of this so that people will try to understand more
Why no more videos
Deaf love 🤟🏾
🤟🏻 ♥️
@laneyayork
You guys should definitely keep making these videos. I am studying to be an interpreter and not only was this hilarious but it was true. We need more videos like this.
more please... as a hearing parent of a young deaf child who relies on both cochlear implants and ASL. We're learning as a family, and I'm inspired by this video and want to learn more about deaf culture, and how you perceive the hearing world, our collective ignorance, and the challenges you have in 'surviving' the hearing world that simply doesn't do enough to accommodate (although it's improving). The humor you inject in this video is terrific!
The cymbal at the end scared the crap out of me.
Oh nooooo, this never kept going? </3 What an awesome video though, I learned a lot!! I would have been that awkward person trying to duck...now I'll just sign EXCUSE ME as I walk straight between, if that situation ever happens.
13:30 I'd rather be deaf you get a community, language, and if you like music you feel the vibrations
I not deaf but if I meet a deaf person and I want communicate what I do
I agree, this is really cool !!!
DEAF
I LOVE THIS!!!!
I'm late deafened and I've already experienced more ridiculous questions than i can even comprehend. "oh so you school?" "you drive? wow how does that work?" "youre deaf? wow youre really smart good for you" just to name a few. dont even get me started with trying to go places and order things. I once went to get gas and forgot to read the number on my pump, and tried to communicate that to the lady and it turned in to a literal fiasco. Not only that she charged me a full 20 dollars when i asked for 15, and i was so frustrated at that point i just said eff it.... #deafpeopleproblems
Yes, I would like to ask a question, but every time I press AskDeafCode I just get sent back to the videos. My question might sound rude (though it isn't meant to be) so I am a bit nervous of writing it in a public forum like this. How do I contact your porgramme directly?
we need more
When will you add more videos?
I'm jealous of sleeping like a baby . I jam earplugs in my ears .
one of the best i have seen in a long time. you have different ppl using slightly different signing systems along with ASL. Sign systems or modes, Signing Exact English, Pigeon Signed English, Signed English, Transliteration, did not see any cued speech but all of these were invented so hearing people didn't have to take the time to learn asl but still had a way to communicate with deaf people. TRue American Sign Language is the the only real language created by deaf people for deaf people.
Why doesnt this channel have more videos?
Does anyone know if they are using pse?
Why no more videos? It's been a year.
DST reminds of the saying we have in Italy, "disabled people are always late". Not because they chat, but because it takes them more time to get ready (I should know, I have a physical disability too)
Why weren't there anymore episodes!? This was fantastic :)
lol. i'm so deaf.
"How do Deaf people wake up in the morning?" Duh....we open our eyes!
The driving question is not that out of order. In some countries in Europe you are not aloud to drive if you have hearing impairment. Because they think it is dangerous not to hear the traffic around you.
Great video! I have only one (small) comment: "døv" is what you choose to represent German? The letter "ø" doesn't even exist in that language (it's mainly used in Norwegian, Danish and Faroese). But otherwise, I love this!
This time the captions are for us to read, not them. :) LOL
If I'm friends with a def person I would say your lucky cause I like silence
Is there going to be another one of these?
