Exploring the Emirates off grid along with our dogs and finding hidden gems and locations across this interesting country which has so much to offer. What not to do when you "Stow" Your Caravan
So we learned the hard way why not to leave dried food in your caravan when you stow it away for 3 months! After three long months of our caravan under wraps for the summer here in the UAE, we have finally unwrapped her to get her ready for the new caravanning season here in the United Arab Emirates. A thorough clean inside and out to get her ready. But what did we do wrong? I guess being newbies at this you don't know everything about caravans but we will certainly not do this next summer ha ha! What things have you done wrong when stowing your caravan away, do let us know, we would love to hear from you.

The summer is almost over and we are venturing out again to explore the Emirates. This trip without the caravan, a bit of a drive to explore Al Ain and see what caravan options there are. Lovely 5 nights away in Fujairah in our caravan. We were blessed with lots of rain on this trip too :) it only rains 4-5 times a year in the UAE so to be in this cute little beach spot with only a couple of other campers with great, we felt a world away from the heat and urban settings of the usual UAE. Quick one night in the caravan in Ras al Khaimah. A lovely little spot overlooking a man made wave break probably in preparation for development on the beach. Our first weekend away with our dogs at Mangrove Beach in Umm Al Quwain in the United Arab Emirates. A dog-friendly location for both campers and caravaners. Looking for Caravan or RV Locations in the UAE

There are no caravan parks in the UAE, even in the popular Dubai and Abu Dhabi cities there are still no commercial areas to pitch a caravan, camper or RV here in the UAE. So we all have to find suitable pitches and areas to park up. Like most countries, there are zones and areas where we are not allowed to pitch up and signs will be up to guide us on this. Registering your caravan in the UAE

All caravans need to be registered in the UAE to travel on the road network. Different Emirates will have slightly different processes we registered with Ras al Khaimah Transport Authority, they were very helpful we even had some laughs with the staff who all had a sense of humour.
