Quartzsite, Arizona... small town or hidden gem?
I did this with the family 2 weeks ago in 104° heat. Not ideal conditions, but it was great nonetheless.
Oh that’s so hot! I’m glad you stayed safe while doing it. Isn’t it beautiful there?!
@@thecampertails Yes, exceptionally beautiful and awe-inspiring. I'm so glad that I was able to share the experience with the entire family. I'm sure that you'd agree that spending time in the great outdoors like this is indeed food for the soul.
The real world is so crazy right now. I came here looking for a bit of fresh air and beauty. You did not disappoint. ✌
That’s make my heart so happy that we can be your escape from this crazy world 🫶🏽 we’re grateful you tune in every week!
When it first started I was wondering if you were doing a night hike. LOL. Such a great video and beautiful scenery! That was quite the hike! Was there a 3rd person filming at times? Just lovely!
No night hikes, just super early mornings for sunrise which is the best time to go! Thank you so much 😊 it was one of the longer ones we’ve done and I did it with no caffeine so it was a doozy 🤣 no third person filming on this one, he just came along for the adventure and was filming his own content.
Thanks for sharing - great scenery!
Thank you! 🙏🏼
One of our favorites! Those pictures are amazing. We especially love the one of Matt and Lauren on the log!
Thank you! That’s one of my favorite photos. Lauren said it looks like it could be a movie poster.
Absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! 🫶🏼
Loved watching this! One of our favorite hikes ever! Listen to Lauren and wear the smart phone glove 😉
It’s such a good one! Since this, I haven’t found a pair of gloves that work 🤣
Bryce is beautiful!! So… soooo worth the hype, huh?? 🙌
So worth it! I can’t wait to go back and explore even more!
Those rock formations! The colors! Wish I could smell it.
It’s beautiful isn’t it? We loved it so much. The way the oranges of the hoodoos matched so well with the blue in the sky. My favorite park we’ve been to so far and I got another pin!
👍❤️
🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
Totally worth the hype! 🤩🤩🤩
I agree!
@@thecampertails can’t wait to go back! 🤗
@@livinlavidalolo there’s so much more to explore!
Well that took forever to show up on my feed. Thanks You Tube. Nice hike, looked pretty hot out there. How are the Tails part doing? Haven't seen them in awhile.
I don’t know what’s been going on but I don’t feel like my videos are being shown to anyone really. It actually wasn’t too bad, just all up hill so I was sweaty 😅 the tails are doing great. They aren’t allowed in national parks so they had to sit out for all of these but they’ll be back on here soon enough! 🫶🏽
Beautiful trail - thanks for taking us along!
Thanks so much! 🫶🏽 thanks for watching!
Such a good video! Can't wait to go back to Zion and explore more next year.
Thanks friend! You two are going to have so much fun! 🤩
Beautiful! Don't forget your pin!
Oh don’t you worry! I got one! 🤣
Very nice! Great scenery and great video! Can’t wait to go. Good to see you on the KOKO Fam livestream.
Awe thank you! 😊 it’s such a beautiful place, you’ll love it! I loved being on there. I can’t wait for more!
Ooh those iconic views when you enter the park!! So pretty
It was beautiful! 🤩 my exact words to Lauren as we were driving were “this is f*ckin beautiful!”
Love! Just subscribed! 🎉
Awe, thank you! 🥺 can’t wait to watch your videos!
Quite the little hike there. Guess you won't have to do Leg Day for a couple of weeks 😉 but next time you think about leaving the trekking poles...don't. Beautiful views and sunset.
You’re right about that! And I should have listened to Lauren. She always says it’s better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it… but she’s not the one who wished we had them on the way up 🤣
THIS! OMG! Ty for sharing this. Now my legs hurt. LOL. You two scared me to death on that ledge at the point. 😱 Stunning!!! 🤯🤩
Don’t be scared, we’re always careful! So glad you loved it! My legs were definitely sore after this!
That was amazing. I salute you both that you were able to traverse the trail to Ooh Aah point. Most of all, I thank you for sharing it all with us!
Awe I’m so glad you liked it. Thank you so much for the support! 🫶🏽
Great video - thanks!
Thanks so much. So glad you enjoyed it!
Looks amazing
It was! It didn’t seem real.
Wow, great photos. It was definitely worth hanging back for those. Looks like Long Legged Lauren gives you a run for your money 😉 So pins, eh? Can hardly wait to see 62 more pins on that hat (you have to do it now). Our National Parks are a treasure, for sure.
Thank you so much. I’m so glad you enjoyed. It truly was an incredible site to see… much like all 63 hat pins will be 🤣 you got that right, she’s always leaving me in the dust!
Nice❤
Thank you! 😊
Such an awesome video! Watching this is making us excited to go back in a few months!
I’m excited for you guys! Can I just stowaway in your pack? 🤣🤣
@@thecampertails Hahaha yesssss of course!!
Perfect!
Hi Lauren and Tiff! Awesome to see you again! Oh my, sunrise was incredible. And I loved your photos. Maricopa Point - holy wow!
Hello Lisa! Wasn’t it?! I didn’t think I’d ever see something so beautiful in my life! Thank you so much, I enjoyed taking them and am so happy with how they turned out!
Way more trees than I thought haha can’t wait to go one day
It’s so different than what I imagined. Better though! It’s a really cool place to visit. Can’t wait for you to go!
I remember being there as a kid (many moons ago lol). Summer vacation every year was the four of us in a 60's overhead camper heading across the country. The Grand Canyon was so huge it didn't seem real. More like a movie set painting. Hope to see more footage!
What an amazing memory. It truly does seem like a painting in real life. I have a few more videos hiking the Grand Canyon coming soon!
Great video. Looks amazing.
Thank you! It was beautiful and I’m so happy I finally got to experience it!
#morelauren
I agree hahaha
So glad I found your channel definitely subscribed! I just bought a 2023 Jay Feather too and boy have I had problems! I bought brand new and got to use it one night and it has been in service ever since. Hopefully I will get it back this week. I have been so overwhelmed I don’t even know if I want it anymore but I guess it is a little late for that…..lol. Anyway it is nice to know it does get better. Thanks for your videos!
Oh no I’m so sorry to hear that! We have definitely continued to have some issues with the craftsmanship and quality of our camper but nothing that has kept us off the road. Hopefully you get yours back soon and can start enjoying. From our experience the troubles are well worth it. 🫶🏽
Can totally relate to things not always going to plan while living on the road! We also try to plan things out so that we don't run into issues down the road. It always tends to happen either way lol. Happy to see your adventures!!
Right isn't that how it always goes? We defiantly like to have a plan but we're learning more and more to just go with the flow. Hope you're all recovering and doing well!
Yes, Plan B and probably a Plan C, too. Sounds like a rough couple of days but being hard on yourself didn't fix anything, did it? It's just making it a routine and that will happen as you find out what works best for you. I think there's going to be a lot more vacationers soon so take that into consideration. Take a deep breath and enjoy the time you have there.
Well look at you being the voice of reason haha! You're right, sometimes I'm just to hard on myself... trying to work on looking at everything as a learning lesson. Thanks for the encouragement!
The whipped cream moments make everything worth it (whip cream on top of the icing on the cake). 😘 WTG and KOKO! 💪🏼 Good info and good video.
Thanks friend! Those moments really do make it worth it. I just was so mad that I made those mistakes but I have learned from them so hopefully no more of those!
Hey Tiff, don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re still learning and you will continue to learn we all make mistakes. I still make mistakes after 6 1/2 years. Looks like you found a beautiful peaceful spot. Hope that you both are doing well.❤
Awe thank you so much! 🫶🏽 it was just silly mistakes and I knew better 🤪 I’m glad we found this spot because it was what made me calm down and realize I still want to do this lifestyle.
Also I have a big fear of driving around with the rv to find a good spot because I’ve done that a lot without the camper already. So glad you got this location!
I don’t drive around with the rv. This time I left Lauren and the pups at the spot we stayed overnight and I went and found a spot just in the truck. I have to make sure no matter where we go there’s a place to turn around incase someone has taken the spot while I’m gone. It’s a process 🤣🤣
So much space!! at the new spot! Glad you find a private spot 🙌 we’ve been saying that traveling with the camper makes our trip 30% longer. We’ve done some math on that.
So much space. It’s a good spot for sure, we’ll be back! It really does take longer, even when we plan it all out.
You got this!!! ❤️❤️
Thanks ash! Love you! 🫶🏽
Beautiful fam 😊
Thank you 🤗
This is why I sold my trailer and truck for converting my my SUV to a camper instead
I get that! I bet it’s way less stressful!
That hat rocks🤘🤘🤘🤘
It’s starting to become part of my personality to be honest 🤣🤣
I totally understand. Here is the thing, some jitters are not bad at all. You have to be aware and alert driving with a trailer/RV and be reasonably ready for the unexpected. To be too relaxed is not good or safe, in my opinion. So go a bit slower, take the turns slower, keep the highway speed a bit slower and learn the feel of the rig as situations occur. To me it is about the feel of each moment over time as I travel down the road. Probably too much info or opinion, but hope it helps a bit. Take care.
Thank you for your kind words! I agree 100% being too relaxed isn’t safe. A few nerves makes me alert. I am always so shocked at how fast people go with trailers attached! Once we get going and I get the feel of it I’ll be okay!
You are welcome. With that thought in mind, I am sure you will. Confidence comes with time. Safe journeys.
I’ve been traveling on the road now almost 7 years and I still get nervous when I know it’s time to go. Just take your time. No one is chasing you so go slow, and if the weather turns ugly, find a place to stop and wait it out. It’s always hard to leave Q it’s like leaving family behind but the wonderful thing is we know we will see each other again before you know it. And yes, I always worry about towing my house down the road. I think oh my God, everything I own is rolling down the road behind me, it was so much fun getting to meet you both this winter and look forward to seeing you again soon. 🤗❤️
Change is always scary and I think that’s what is doing it for me. We’ve called Q our home for the past 6 months but we’re ready to move on and explore more! We’re so happy we met you and can’t wait to see you again! 🫶🏽
Kind of having to leave the comfort zone you've built there. You'll be fine once you get going. Do you have a dash cam to record driving? I love watching the road go by. Kind of an asmr thing, I guess. I'll be waiting for your next one!
Oh yeah, once we get moving the nerves will settle I’m sure! No dash cam but we’ll be sure to take videos of the drive along the way for ya! Thanks for always supporting us! 🫶🏽🥰
I've been gone since March and I'm already looking forward to returning to Q. This year it's different for me. I was traveling and staying in my minivan since Oct '22. This year, I have my truck (which you saw) and a small travel trailer. Nervous doesn't begin to describe how I felt, towing a trailer for the first time since 2013. Frugal's advice is spot on, as usual. Take it slow. If you can avoid high construction areas and you're not on a timeline, do it. Your rig is way bigger than mine. Trust yourself and keep your eyes open. There is no law that says you have to drive in chitty weather, either. Enjoy yourselves and see you down the road!
Towing a trailer is next level discomfort. It’s an adjustment for sure! On the way down to Q we had to go through some traffic and construction so I know how it is and it was nerve racking but I went slow and stayed calm. Honestly when I start towing the nerves go away and I’m fine, it’s just the anticipation and build up 🤣 we’ll have to meet up when we all get back to Q 🫶🏽 hope you’re having amazing adventures!
Yes, I can relate. Some times more than others. It can be a lot when you are thinking you are towing your home. Take it slow and give yourself the time to get your travel legs back under you. It is always a weird time when leaving Quartzsite, lots of emotions. It is always exciting when the season returns.
Thanks friend! You know exactly what to say. It’s comforting knowing that you still feel this way after so many years on the road but also dang, the feeling is never going to go away 🤣 I know once I hook up and start pulling the nerves will slowly go away and I’ll be back to excitement! It’s really an emotional rollercoaster leaving Quartzsite but we’ll be back next year!
I definitely agree that nature is therapy! We love getting outside in any way that we can! Also, couldn't agree more that you'll never fully be ready to do something - just gotta take the leap! And life begins outside of our comfort zone :)
Being in nature really is the best. It’s freeing and peaceful. Taking the leap is scary but necessary in order to grow. The more I step out of my comfort zone the more fun I have with life!
Everything is a trade off. 🤪😂 Great job! It will make a huge diff on temps. You can cover them with black material facing out at some point if you want, but whatever you do don’t paint them. Ask me how I know. LOL! WTG guys!
Thanks so much for the tips and support! And noted haha sometimes learning from friends mistakes is better than learning from your own. 🤣
All those meals looked so good! That poor mac and cheese 🤣🤣
They were delicious 🤤 right?! I couldn’t believe I did that!🤦🏼
