@ Anything works really - SNTS has a really unique low end game but I think that kind of sound design of low end would not work with any melodic elements.. His tracks are purely %100 rhythm in your face. Any knowledge you would share in this area is appreciated. :D Keep up the great work!

Yea, gated reverb is used in these genres too :) In my opinion, the bass (to be precise, the bass low-end) doesn't always have to be in mono - as long, as the mix is mono-compatible. If you check out some tracks by [KRTM] or BSLS, you'll see their kicks have low-end a bit in stereo, but the mono mix still slaps

bass deffo doesn’t have to be mono as long as it doesn’t sound bad mono

I got following suggestions: Fantasm - Danny Phantom, Onlynumbers, Larm - Sketches Of Persia (bochka), CDRC, USH kick styles.. Personally, I'd throw [KRTM] kicks to that list, as his kicks are different from what I've been showing so far

Can't recommend specific tutorials (people I follow are still hardtechno/peaktime oriented), but from plugins I'd check out decent drum generators, like this one: d16.pl/drumazon2

Just curious because I'm currently stuck using samples and layering them then fine tuning, trying to get some descent sound. But I often hear in different tuts and from producers to create my own samples. This what you recommended looks like a perfect vst to make them, but won't it make the kicks sounds bit similar in the long run? I got some simple drum machine and the problem for me was that it was hard to create kicks that would be different and match specific vibes [model cycles, to be frank it doesnt have much options to tweak the sound, but nonetheless u get the idea]

So what kind of kicks are you aiming to make? Do you have specific examples? Plugins from this tutorial could be in theory used for kicks you have been talking about, but I think iZotope Trash could be an overkill sometimes, as it's a very aggressive distortion effect. Maybe Soundtoys Decapitator, Antares Tube or CamelAudio CamelPhat would be a decent distortion choice for such kicks :P Regarding the kicks sounding similar.. if you have a drum synth, you can tweak the pitch/vol envelopes in various ways, so the variety of kicks should be plenty, unlike when just using samples

@@MarcinRajski- thanks, great video btw, also, have you ever done a video explaining how to mix well, one problem i find myself in a lot in kicks is the rumble, after exporting it and playing it in car speakers for example it seems like it has a soul of its own and doesnt fit the kick, and just generally doesnt sound too good, and also, sorry its a lot, any free alternatives to xfer's lfo tool?

@@haet_music I got Coldfire spent a couple of months trying to get it to do the things Trash 2 can, failed and got myself Trash 2. You can find licenses on knobcloud or similar sites. I'm sure there are producers who could get Coldfire to work for them, but for me Trash 2 is so much easier to get results with. Free alternatives to LFO tool : Caelum Audio Flux Mini 2 or STFU Volume Shaper by Zeek.

​@@MarcinRajski- well its just a kick over a mid sounding synth, its neither well balanced nor is the sounddesign good. For educational purposes its sufficient I guess, but the mix overall is not good

I think it Sounds pretty good to be honest. In Hardtechno its Not always wanted that everything Sounds clean. But Music is really perspective. Most stuff in the Radio for me Sounds completely Shitty but People make millions with this simple shit.

@@Aah3546 true, but it doesnt sound good from a mixing perspective. I like hardtechno and i like dirty sounding kicks. but in this case, there is no groove and a overpowered kick. the balance is off, that was my point
