Yeah, it does work. I remember someone telling me it worked and me and a friend trying it for a long time. Too bad we got lead down other paths that were fake though. Like the whole "if you dive off zora domain waterfall and land on the rock youll wake up and have to choose who you want to marry". There was also a ton of stuff in Link to the Past related to a "hidden quest" that was all a lie. Lots of stuff was made up back then, but catching this poor mans hat was true. The sinking lure is real too.
