Justine couldn't even look at Mauresmo in the eye. One thing I can say about Sharapova is that she'll take her beating and keep on pushing it, but Justine will cheat you anyway she can, even if that means making sure she doesn't finish a match against you so she won't look like she lost badly.

Justine was always a disgusting cheat. She constantly cheating with her coach during matches, would play sick during matches to throw players off, would outright cheat you just to throw you off and did everything under the sun. Her coach was such a sleezy creep and just as disgusting as she was. Amelie was the epitome of class. I've never seen Amelie cheat another player, she rarely complained and Justine knew cheating her during the match wouldn't rattle her, so she simply gave up. I hate players who get to where they've gotten by cheating and it's sad that Justine had to retire and did an interview admitting to cheating Serena and Clijsters but was still proud of what she had done. She was the most disgraceful champion to ever grace a tennis court.

Mauresmo is one of the classiest tennis players ever! She deserved to win in this match. Shame Henin did this to her.

I think the 2006 Wimbledon final meant even more because Amelie PROVED she can beat Justine in a grand slam final. Amelie won that match fair and square she proved a lot of people wrong by winning Wimbledon.

Trust me, I've played tennis for years and in some pretty hot conditions too. If Henin was truly not healthy to play, she should have withdrawn. She cheated Amelie out of celebrating her first Slam. This part of Henin's legacy.

People are dissing her because she quit under mysterious circumstances. Its not like it was a clear injury or something. It seemed like it came out of nowhere as Henin was losing. Seriously if Henin just gutted out the last few games even if she played like utter shit, I don't think many people would be too angry at her But the fact that she retired and it was kind of strange circumstances as to how and why she did it, that to me means she QUIT and denied Momo of a good celebration of her win.

First let me say that in 2001 I started watching both Ame & Henin. I was a fan of BOTH of them from the French Open '01 on. UNTIL this match. Watching live I couldn't believe what Henin did. I said at the time it was bullshit & it was & is. That's y I STOPPED liking Henin. No more what she did I liked Justine, until this match. I haven't liked her or followed her career since. I think alot of people feel she cheated Ame out of her greatest moment. To, me that is UNFORGIVABLE. No matter what!

Justine hated to loose...she coward out again in this tournament. She did the same thing with cheating agaist Serena in 2003, and she probably wanted to do it when she lost Wimbledon but knew the fans would be upset. I cant help but think that this girl suddenly retired because of a failed drug test...one day she's talkin about winning more slams and then she retires all of a sudden. That makes me raise one eyebrow.

A real pro would of continued the match. Who knows, maybe Amelie would of gotten tight? Justine is a coward and a quitter she didn't hang in there she just quit.

amelie really deserved this title after losing to swissbitch hingis in 99. 06 was amelie's year after winning aus open she went on to win gaz de france, antwerp and wimby. ALLEZ AMELIE hope she recovers from her injuries this year!

For all those who wanted Justine to continue, it is obvious what would have happened. Either Justine wouldn't have revealed her illness, and played a miserable match, leading people to say she tanked it and kill her for it, OR they would have gotten wind of the illness and said 'Yes, Mauresmo won, but she didn't deserve it, because Justine wasn't 100%'. People will always talk, but at the end of the day, she needs to take care of her own body, so her decision was the right one.
