Girls und Panzer works because it puts friendship WAY ahead of fanservice. Yes, there IS fanservice. But you could take fanservice mostly away, and if you keep the freindship, it will still WORK.

if you are a tank lover then you will like this anime cause aside from the speed and physics everything from the exterior to the interior seems really accurate. Also the wacky physics defying fights are what makes it funny, you will enjoy it if you don't take the details too seriously.

When I first watched this anime, I knew it was going to be nonsensical, but what i wasn't prepared for was historical accuracies and marching music INCLUDING THE ARMY'S THEME! THE US FIELD ARTILLERY MARCH! I started singing immediately! And that's when I knew, I had to keep watching cuz it was so much fun!

You only scratched the surface for the reasons it won't get an adaptation, the visual compositions and the story itself always puts really high stakes for the music. You're gonna need a really good team of musicians to make the jimi hendrix and kurt cobain concert sound as good as the visuals suggest and as acuratte as possible to those two artists. And they're also gonna need to do that for the other artists in the 27 club. Also the visuals will need a big budget to be replicated cause how else is the animation team supposed to replicate that panel with three buses running the stage over? Or that other panel with the giant whale in the mosh pit? The chances of shiori experience getting addapted with these two factors alone are already slim, the copywriting stuff is just the cherry on top
