I have the same machine, it sounds like there is too much tension on the spool. Mine works great. AND you are a professional asking a hobby, home DYIer machine to take the place of a many thousand dollar welder.

Years ago I was looking at esab ,I saw too many chat boards where guys said they had faulty screen ,and had problem having esab repair the units. I thought all these years later esab would have ironed out problems ,But I still see videos of esab units with problems. I just need a mig welder,looking at hobart,miller,lincoln, the price hikes in last two years are ridiculous. Can you have your unit repaired under warranty ?

been six months time for that follow up

Ther junk ! Mine broke at 25 hours . Sent it in . Waited 3 months to get it back . Its been used for less than 30 mins since getting it back from repair shop . Busted again ! I got 4 esabs now . 210 emp is just junk ! Broke twice now with less than 30 hours on it . 215 rebel has menu onob issues . Stuck in mig mode . The esab 141i lasted about 15 , 20 hours . Smoke literally rolled out of the 141i . And the 285 esab has start up glitches ! I replaced the esab 210 emp with a miller 215 multi process machine . Absolutely zero problems with the miller 215 . Runs great ! Zero problems! Made in china parts on esabs now ! Always wanted a esab . Now i have 4 . All 4 have a combined value of a 6 pak a coke and a gummie ! The supplers here had so many returns they pulled them off the floor and dont recommend them any more ! The lessons we learn ! Wish you better luck than ive had with them ! My buddy bought the harbor freight omni pro . 1000 bucks . He had one knob issue . Harbor freight gave him another one . No charge ! Hes laughing at all the esab issues im having

I believe esab is a great budget welding machine. I think you will be very happy with your esab. Eventually I will most likely be getting the AC/DC esab.

If you get drunk and drive fast, impound is a good place for that boat.

Awesome bro. I gotta old 94 xb 2002. No comparison to the allisons. I’ve had em all and love the allison better than any. I’m running a 280 2.5 drag short shaft with a 28 lightening et wheel. Very fun boat to drive. Took me 6 months to learn to fly it tho. Literally.
