East Cardiff Muslim Centre (ECMC) is a community project established in 2016, located in St. Mellons, Cardiff, Wales (UK).
As a community support, education, and prayer facility, ECMC grew to provide a wide range of services and became a go-to destination for the wider community within Cardiff.
Following growing demand, ECMC started to expand its scope of services, with a strong emphasis on encouraging volunteer activities.
In July 2019, ECMC moved to the Old Police Station, St Mellons - the new permanent location for the community centre. Following anticipated completion of redevelopment works in 2022, ECMC will deliver essential support to residents within the wider community, including a range of initiatives for men, women, and children of all backgrounds.
We encourage everyone to visit the centre to learn how ECMC can benefit them and become involved in developing our future services.
Our RUclips channel is an extension of our activities.

East Cardiff Muslim Centre (ECMC) has now reached another milestone.
It’s taken a long two years to get here, but we’re really pleased to finally announce that the demolition of the existing Police Station has been completed.
As our appointed building consultants - West Bank Construction Ltd - mobilise on site in readiness for the full build, we look forward to working through our detailed construction programme over the coming year.
The total project build could take as long as 18 months, but we continue to work closely with our construction professionals and specialists to expedite wherever possible.

Salaam, when will the completion of this centre be insha’allah?
I attended this centre since it ran out of the old building. It was such a blessing to have it in our local area. Now I have to drive for 15-20 minutes to get to the nearest mosque. I am really looking forward to the new centre, insha Allah soon! Please support it!

Salam What's the estimated date of completion please 🙏 it's been a year since building was demolished
The project is being completed in three stages, our first stage of Planning application, approval, getting initial funding and finding appropriate contractors has been completed, this led to the stage of demolition and groundbreaking. Stage 2 involves getting a free-standing structure built (this is the stage we are currently in), Stage three will be after this until full completion. We are hoping that stage two will be somewhat in visible stage by the next six months, however, please continue to share and encourage friends and family to donate. We also plan on sharing regular updates via videos. Donations to the centre can be made here, ecmc.wales/donation/
