Oh yeah theres a logistic trucking in the Midwest I forget its name. He has 60-75 trucks and he decided to install front facing cameras in all of his trucks. In less than 2 years his small company has had 35 of his truck involved in accident. He's blindly praising the cameras, claiming its saved him money in a lot of those cases. What he doesn't seem to notice is, he's went from having 1 to 2 accidents/incidents per year to 17.5 per year.🤦🏿

Cameras facing cameras are destroying the trucking industry. Many of us Drive to be independent of the office type atmosphere where you're constantly being watched or monitored and now as a driver any bump in the road or car passing you at the intersection can trigger the camera. The degrading thing is being called into the office to be grilled by non truck drivers, why did you do this or why was your eyes on the GPS for 5 seconds instead of a quick 3. Yes they have eye movement technology and if the camera feels like your eyes are fixated on one thing for too long it say distracted driving. And the next thing you know, they're calling you into the office because out of 180 hours of driving, you had 3 or 4 distraction they wanna talk to you about and they want you to go thru a safety class again. While several non truck drivers critique 180 hrs of your driving. Most driver tell me they drive like unhappy Zombies the entire night and they don't know how long they can keep it up. They come to work every day wondering if this will be the day. First the electronic logs and now the cameras to see what you're doing 24/7. 90% of these cameras are set on high sensitivity mode so any movement triggers the cameras. This has inspired me to sell my rental property and get my on truck. I have 20 years in the game, I've only had 1 major accident (preventable). What most companies don't realize that these cameras (FRONT FACING CAMERAS) causes more accidents than it Prevents. Why? Because it takes the freedom away from the driver, so now he's driving on edge and in constant panic mode , because he feels like he's being watched and critique at every turn. It's these type of Drivers that are having the most accidents, because this is the end result of an unhappy, scared to drive because I'm being watched 24/7 type driver.🤷🏿‍♂️ These companies are trying to turn humans into robots, they don't realize this is what will destroy their company.

In Philly they would have failed you in the first 2 minutes. You never put the truck in the lowest forward gear before testing the service brake. Also why is there no tug test for the parking and trailer brakes? Why was there no test of service brakes driving 8-10 feet approximately 5mph? There were also at least 3 mistakes after this but that part still likely passable. However, you can’t miss anything in air brakes or it’s a fail.

Well it’s my first time going for my cdl so I can’t say that it’s actually harder however I did notice some changes in it from years prior to when I was studying it for the interest of getting a license 🪪. But just moving into PA recently I can’t confirm that it really is harder. And yes I just received my learners and I’ll be doing my road and skills test TODAY!! As I’m writing ✍️ this comment
