As a German, i really like this song! It brings such a nostalgic feeling I think I never felt before, but it's slightly hurting and I can not explain why. It's not the lovely nostalgic feeling, it's like there's some desolate nostalgic feeling through the whole song. A russian friend of me showed me this song and I instantly downloaded it lol. Even I don't understand the russian language, this song has like an impact on me, idk why I sometimes have tears in my eyes when listening to this, I really don't know, but it's crazy how music has such a big impact on humans!

I grew up in 1980s Mongolia with heavy Soviet influence. My aunts and parents worked late into the night so I would be home by myself. Around 7 pm 1 hour “Moscow program” would play. The program opened with this song. It brings me back to my childhood years in Darkhan Mongolia.

This is my favorite song in the Russian collection since back in 1960s. Mr. Trochin's gentle voice kant b duplicated by any other Russian singer for this song. If this video was taken around 1956, only 11 yrs after the war, then it's amazing that there are bumper to bumper car traffic in the Moscow streets, people r very well dressed w shinny shoes, and no sign of the Nazis damages to the buildings, etc. of course, they didn't finish the job at Moscow gates. The Eastern Block countries were much devastated so i don't dink(think) those conquered nations were able to contribute to the Soviet economy. Liked that light green-cream trolley bus at (0:20). Yes, the cars on the streets r from the late 40's and i even saw an American Woody Wagon Car of 1949 at (0:55). Wonder if the Russians were able to produce cars for their civilians by 1956.
