    What does the Bible say about marriage? Old Testament: Polygamy. New Testament: Don't get married.

    The book is Called Bible or Holly Bible. It is not called the Word of God. The Books have names and their names dont mean source. However the translator made some seem so. A book of the bible can a collection of sources. None the less, Tastament dont mean fact. Also translating the nouns in the Bible sources is wrong. Jonas should always be Jonas after translation. Most Bible translation are product of Noun Translation which has God meaning many things when there is no mention of God but rather Nouns being translated to be God.

    Interesting that Jesus becomes more and more god like theoughout the decades that the gospels were written. Reminds me of how legends develop.

      Jesus being God straight from the first gospel is recognised more and more throughout the decades. The fact that Jesus existed back then was not as popular as the fact that he exists now decades later it’s more important to more people than it was back then. Did he not exist back then in the beginning because the teachings that He did was not as popular?

    When you love the Truth more than accolades, it can still be a hard row to hoe. But the reward... Here and when seeing God face to face, is worth the discomfort, scorn, pushback. Itching ears are all the rage, but the truth remains for eternity. Good conversation. It's amazing how different the Book is when we read it cover to cover. Blessings gents!

    I have a question; Did Jesus and the Apostles refer to, mention, or discuss a place of temporal punishment???

    • @EverydayTheology-qd6lo
      @EverydayTheology-qd6lo 5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the question! This is John. No, Jesus or the disciples did not refer to that. I looked up the verses that Roman Catholics use to support purgatory, and I don't see how they come to that conclusion. 2 Timothy 1:18, Matthew 12:32, Luke 23:42, 1 Corinthians 3:11-15, and Hebrews 12:29. Looking at them in the proper context and in light of all of scripture will lead you to the Biblical conclusion that there is heaven and hell, nothing temporal in-between.

      @EverydayTheology-qd6lo Jesus was not referring to anything of earth. Jesus was referring to what happens to the soul of those who use/ go to confession the Authority that He gave to the Apostles in John chapter 20 vrs 21-23. Why would Jesus or the Apostles refer to things that people know and can see for themselves. Jesus and the Apostles were referring to a temporal punishment, but only for those who practice what Jesus said in John 20 vrs 21-23. Also, without doing what Jesus said in John chapter 20 vrs 21-23, we can not do worthily what Jesus said we should do to have eternal life within us John 6 vrs 53-58.

      @@EverydayTheology-qd6lo But you don't look at all scripture since you use scripture to contradict scripture. You deny Jesus gave the Apostle's Authority to forgive sin's in John chapter 20 vrs 21-23 you deny that the bread and wine once Consecrated are the Body and Blood of Jesus John chapter 6 vrs 53-58. You refer to both of them as metaphorical or symbolic.

    My last question I suppose is whether the Jesus referenced as "my Jesus" is the man Christ Jesus (1Tim2.5) able to fully function without an incarnated deity just like you, I and all men are able to fully function without an incarnated deity If not what is he missing that we have...🤔🤔

    • @EverydayTheology-qd6lo
      @EverydayTheology-qd6lo 5 месяцев назад

      Sorry to be confusing! "My Jesus" has become somewhat of an inside joke and a way that we make fun of Sean. All Christians need to ensure that the Jesus we believe in is actually the Jesus of the Bible. Many people have a view of Jesus that is not Biblical.

    I am wondering if Jesus Focus was on his ontology or whether his Focus was on his position that God set him in? Likewise I would ask the same question regarding all the authors of the standard Canon

    • @EverydayTheology-qd6lo
      @EverydayTheology-qd6lo 5 месяцев назад

      Hi! Thanks for the questions! I would answer your question with "yes." Jesus and the authors of NT canon all focuses on who Jesus is and what He has done. It's both. The book of John, which we are preaching through right now, focuses heavily on who Jesus is, but also why He came to earth.

    • @greglogan7706
      @greglogan7706 5 месяцев назад

      @@EverydayTheology-qd6lo So the issue is not so much who Jesus "is" - since that covers several categories - but I am focusing specifically on his ontology. When Jesus asked his disciples who do men say that He is - they did not say the 2nd person of a triune deity one in essence or anything like that - rather they were described His position (eminence) - You are the Messiah - the Son of the Living God. Both of these are about about Jesus position - not "what" his substance was - there is a significant distinction.

    Just curious - where in the Bible does it say we are supposed to fall in love with the bible? Seems simply because the Bible is apprehendable that many have created their own Idol out of it In contrast in the New Testament writings which at no point even suggests that a person's bibliology is relevant to their relationship with God

    • @EverydayTheology-qd6lo
      @EverydayTheology-qd6lo 5 месяцев назад

      I suppose that the Bible can become an idol, but that's not what we were talking about. The Bible is God's Word. It's how He speaks to us and a primary way we can commune with Him, making a love for Him and love for the Bible inseparable. Here are a few examples of that in scripture. Psalm 1, Psalm 119, 2 Peter 1:19-21, Hebrews 4:12, Matthew 24:35, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, John 15:10

    • @EverydayTheology-qd6lo
      @EverydayTheology-qd6lo 5 месяцев назад

      It's also the only way that we can know the gospel and have a relationship with God. His word brings life.

      @@EverydayTheology-qd6lo I appreciate the follow-up However, this cannot be true based on history The reality is that 96 - 98% of mankind was illiterate - probably in many areas essentially 100% - for about 1800 years - until the advent of socialized education which only really got its start in the late 19th C Further - there simply were NO books at all - a few scrolls in a few convents. With the advent of the printing press a few books were available - but again - only for the very wealthy - up until the last 100 - 200 years or so. With respect, you are viewing this matter through the lens of modernity - which is anachronistic - rather than historically.

    Great podcast. When you're talking about the love we are supposed to have of Christians, I'm in total agreement. One thing I've noticed is that the world will cut you, but Christians will cut your heart. You expect that from the world, but the deepest wounds and the most painful betrayals have come from the hands of Christians. I struggle between staying and leaving. I almost feel I have a form of PTSD.

    The significance of the tabernacle is a first hand display of how God views art. As someone who has a vested interest in this subject, it is an excellent parallel to Genesis 1: “In the beginning God created.” One of the great spiritual gifts God has gifted man is the ability to be creative, and even furthermore, to have the capacity to think creatively. This is a great example of how humanity differs from every other aspect of creation. There is no functionality to creating art, yet, God is very specific and genuinely cares deeply about it. He creates Himself, and invites His creations to create as well. The chapters in Exodus that speak on the creation of the tabernacle verify Genesis 1, which then as we fast forward to today, allows proper reasoning and evidence for music, art, literature, film, etc. That God can display His glory obviously in the world He created, but also from His children who are using these spiritual gifts to bless His name. The tabernacle’s completion was for Him, the specific measurements were for Him, the materials used were for Him, the labor of Bezalel and his team of artisans were for Him. Exodus 31, 36-39 may seem to be about this creation of this object/place, but it is within the steps of this process we find that it all reflects back to God’s nature of love through gifting individuals this aspect of Himself, to therefor be used to glorify Him.

    To John's point, I sympathize with being blind to even knowing of God's sovereignty. Like what was said, it is almost laughable now reading back through the Bible how this truth covers every single aspect of the text. My question would be: Why was this never, (and I mean never) preached or discussed throughout my church life growing up? Up until the last year and a half with being in a Reformed circle has this been revealed to me. What makes so many believers and church pastors miss this? Is it merely the idea that we do not like to think as God fully in control and we are also fully accountable for our actions?
