I bought and have LTI on Syulen, Connie Androm, Redeemer, Ursa Medical. Atm till later I have my bases I wanted covered. *Edit* I had a Starrunner - I would wait till after its rework. It got so many nerfs. DPS, Shield, Hull. I couldn't justify owning it anymore. Maybe after the rework. (Also the Connie is on its 3rd rework) Just keep up with updates and keep an ear out for whats going on for what ships if you ever feel you have to melt a ship for something else.

Great point of view! I love that you went more in depth regarding the costs. I think a missed opportunity for me was talking about how they could create salvage yards for Reclaimers and Vultures to sell RMC and construction materials and a location for SRV's to deliver derelict ships. A centralized location for people to compete with each other on who can salvage ships the quickest.

Yep I use to spend a lot of time soling my Reclaimer. I should get back to it but when all those other demanding features come online it will change things.

Keep in mind, the Reclaimer is easy to solo RIGHT NOW, but resources will be coming online soon.. and anyone soloing that big ship is going to have keep getting up to fix issues, do engineering tasks and so on.

I think its worth mentioning that salvaging at the moment is kind of like a placeholder (very barebones) as a gameplay loop. Theres a lot more for cig to add in the future so i would say to prospective salvagers to be wary.

You're not saying anything that hasn't been said several times by several different RUclipsrs and streamers in the past... The entire premise of the video is subjective at best because there is no 'best' ship unless you're speaking about a very specific style of gameplay or intended use. Style of gameplay and intended use are determined by the individual player and their desires so your opinion is not the "best" and there's no way to prove that your opinion is the best.

how much i wish i could use the vulture when my friend told me about this game and wanted me to get with him i looked the game up and the salvage gameplay always made me want to play it so the fact that its locked behind a pay wall right now is rough

Don't expect an Aurora with a mining laser to handle the big rocks... Still, a Prospector with a Helix 1 laser, Reiger-C3, and XTR-XL, can crack most 10-15K rocks (when desync is not an issue)... Gadgets also help a lot too, reduce resistance.

Another one to consider for Replacements: Origin 325a. Has a bed, kitchen, toilet (handy when they will actually be used). Underside cargo bay/ramp with 4SCU storage. Internal storage. Huge panoramic moonroof. For combat, you have 1 Size4 and 2 Size3 hardpoints. You're probably saying "But the Avenger Titan!" but wait; what if we had 4 Size3 Missiles you could use? Plus a function (to be added later) that allows you to missile lock multiple targets at once? It's a "Space BMW" that looks absolutely beautiful. Makes for a great daily driver/starter IMO that can still handle some ship combat. Plus you can customize a LOT of stuff with it. Biggest issues are a) its 70 Euro at the time of posting (or in-game for 944,200 aEUC if the website I'm looking at is correct), and b) you can only get it as a standalone ship without the game. I got mine in a package, but that was during an "Origin Celebration" event years ago. Something to take a look at if you are eyeing the Avenger Titan. Though if you are just buying the game, the Avenger Titan is probably a better bet; 325a for an in-game upgrade or if you want something with more teeth than an Aurora/Mustang.

The only problem with nomad would be the fuel problem, I need to refuel almost every time.

I have a Caterpillar, a prospector and a Constellation Taurus. At some point I plan on picking up a vulture that way i can enjoy all aspects of the game regardless of wether a wipe happens or not.

For real money, First ship, starter ship, which would include the Titan, or Nomad. Second ship, starter ship for your chosen profession. I won't recommend spending any more than that.

Could use a cut of volume on your audio vs background music. Not a huge deal. Very thorough presentation, great display your findings.

I bought the Aurora not sure if I would like SC or be able to run it. Then I got addicted, and hated the Aurora, it is so bad for cargo missions or cargo space, and the Mustang has none. I bought the Titan and OMG what a difference, I was quickly earning 100k per mission instead of like 15k with the Aurora. Then I learned about the 315p and decided to buy it. I fell in love with that thing, it is so great for a starter ship. Great interior, styling, more cargo than Titan and same price, love the cargo hold for bunker missions you can run out drop the stuff and run back in, and its faster than the Titan by a smidge, great for making $ for your next ship. I would totally do the 315p if you want the cheapest/best way into the game.

I'd bought a vulture and a pisces but the game ran so poorly i ended up refunding them and closing my account. The game is absolutely amazing when it works but the problem is that as good as the game looks it runs equally bad. Perhaps in a few years the game will be worth going back to but i can't imagine investing in a game where your ship randomly explodes while trying to exit or enter hangers and you can just fall through the floor and die at the most inconvenient times. I tried for 3 days to play the game and i managed a single scavenging run in the vulture and spent the rest of my time claiming my ship after it exploded in the hanger, exploded while trying to exit the hanger, clipped through the hanger floor and exploded, didn't show up at all, 30k'd and forced me to reload, blew up hitting invisible asteroids, or the game would crash. And that's not counting all the deaths from my character falling through the floor or just falling over dead wile standing in one of those city flight transit vehicles or having all of my inventory disappear for no reason. I honestly want the game to be good but it's been ten years in development and the performance is only getting worse.

I have 2 ships, the Carrack and the Pisces. Ive always loved the fantasy of flying a massive multi-crew ship and the Carrack has the design of a classic movie ship like the ones from the original Alien movie. The pisces came with it and fits in it and for me, the ship itself is a slice of this games potential. Mind you I started from an Aurora and slowly worked my way up, knowing that the Carrack was the only ship I wanted to OWN own like that.

Well cool video. But my starter ship was the cutlass black 😅 . So I guess my second ship was the Andromeda. Both good muti use ships. And that's what I think most people are really looking for in a second ship. Something that can do a bit of everything but more of it than a starter.

great video! well said and clear, i own a cutty black and it's my daily driver, though i can buy the cutter in now (i think) which will be my shuttle craft, i really like my corsair for ERT and HRT grinding aswell as doing some cargo. Keep it up man this is great!
