This account was created in 2019 in preparation for the first fully virtual 2020/21 Symposium of the IASS and the 7th International Conference on Spatial Structures.
The event was organised by the The Spatial Structures Research Center, at the University of Surrey (UK). The Centre’s aim has always been that of conducting research in the design, analysis and construction of spatial structures and educating future generations. After the Symposiums’s success, the account will continue advertising different aspects of spatial structures in hopes of attracting new researchers, professionals and students and promote interdisciplinary discussions within the field.

thank you so much
Thank you so much
Aren’t these structures temporary?
Thank you for sharing it
Yes! Great to find this. Surprisingly little evidence of da Vinci bridge roofs online. It makes such good sense to make a roof this way. I hope the word spreads. Good work!
Cool
Hello, a question, in which program do you design the uxetical structures, can we talk privately?
Thank you for sharing the video! I am trying to do a linear static seismic FEA anaysis of vaults in abaqus for my Master's thesis. Could you provide some insight into how it may be done and what difference the setup it would be than a flat floor slab.
😥 P r o m o s m
Super interesting. If the mycelium brick is not baked, what happens? Turn your "problem" of 'biological imperfection' and irregularity into an exploit - eg. could mycelium be developed for prefab/in-situ bamboo joinery (raw bamboo also "suffers" from irregularity). I've always wanted a natural foam filler of sorts for my bamboo projects - could mycelium play a role? Curious about in-situ "baking" of mycelium blocks (clusters? nodes?) (presumably to kill the culture and arrest growth?) Need to research more! Thanks for the upload.
How are these form-diagrams created?
Is there an actual name for the first method? This would be helpful for my research.
Hello, is it possible to get information about the sources?
incredible can I have your e-mail ????
excellent solucution, are there somo paper about this?
I used 272 pair of skis to build a shed 20 years ago. It took me a month to take it back apart many years later. I still have plus 500 pair more for a bridge on a bike trail.
Can u give the details about those elastic fabrics used?
I like really you’re doing professor Sidrig😍
That's absolutely MAGNIFICENT!!
❤
Throwing a bottle in the sea here. I am way out of my depths here, but as someone working for a small series car company obsessed with lightweighting. I wonder if kirigami plate lattice can have a good application for automotive chassis and if the technology is mature enough to be mass produced? Thank you in advance
Merci beaucoup mon boss
Open Sees is not free for commercial use FYI.
What is the best drying temperature and for how long?
Whould you share a link to the full article?
Yes please to this OP
What about the shrinkage percentage from the mould to end product?
Hey spatial structure, we are trying to the design the bridge for our college project please make a video on the bridge and how to make the model on it.
this is so useful for my project for a sports building in a seismic zone. However, wanted to clarify one thing. Are there any special joineries at the bottom of the pivot column in order to prevent them from breaking during swaying, since both the top and bottom would be moving?
Interesting cover of stadiums .
Thanks, interesting.. Is anyone aware of a free online calculator for Lamella Zollinger structures? Or would I have to buy Rhinoceros CAD 3D?
I would love a tutorial on how to use grasshopper the way you are doing. I would pay for that.
Hey! You got plans for the 3D printed jig? I love the idea, but those connections look quite unfeasible to apply outside of a very specialised environment. Any more references / illustrations / explanations on the simpler prototypes uploaded anywhere? Cheers!
Great presentation and project my guy!!!!
Sir, Is kinetic umbrella currently in practice anywhere?
We did. Good job. 👏👏
awesome
nice outfit
Good job , please if you are in China, can I have your wechat id, or email address
Great work. Well done 👍🏿👏🏾
Amazing work!!
Sehr interessante Entwicklung !! Gratulation zum Ergebnis und zur Präsentation !
THAKS YOU !
Excellent, innovative ideas .. keep doing your good work.. Wish you good luck🙏👍✌️😃
Wow :) Nice
I think in that way too! very insightful presentation and, congratulations!
Thank you for your comment! Authors will really appreciate it!
Thank you for sharing the video.
Thanks for watching!
Great upload thanks
This is 100% relevant to development of wildfire-proof homes! Non-combustible walls etc are not sufficient if a roof is built out of kindling.
Wow! Does this mean that interior designers and architects can come up with avant-garde designs with evidence that it can be done soon? The contractor price will still mess everything up, but this seems very interesting!
I’m binge watching this channel like crazy. Haha so interesting to me!
