    One of the ways we keep Christ in Christmas is to have dinner at the table as a family. We light the table candles, our Advent wreath, and after dinner we read the advent reflection and scripture verse for that day. Even though the rest of the year might look scattered and crazy, I really try to keep family time sacred. ❤

    Hi, my children are older and have been introduced to IEW writing for many years now, at least the older ones. The problem I have is not getting them to write but its the correcting or evaluating of their writing that bogs me down. I'm not a writer and my grammar skills aren't great. I just don't feel confident about checking their writng assignments. What does a mom do ?, other than enroll them in a class. Unfortunately, that's just too expensive for us. We did it last year and IEW classes are wonderful, but we can't do it again this year.

    • @rangerpress8872
      @rangerpress8872 Год назад

      My first thought is to grade their paper according to the checklist. It should tell you what is expected. If you're not sure in grammar skills, I would encourage you to brush up on them or ask a friend to help you or a family member. I know you're busy and individual classes may not be in your budget. One thing I challenge my leadership education moms is this: How do you give your kids a leadership education, when you didn't receive one? Then answer we agree on is this: We begin to educate ourselves.

    My kids don't like to write because they don't know how to spell.

    • @rangerpress8872
      @rangerpress8872 Год назад

      That makes it hard. Most authors have an editor that helps them with things they don't know how to do. To help them have a good attitude, I would simply tell them how to spell any words. Be their editor (without a lecture...LOL) until they gain confidence in writing.

  • @homeschoolingthroughhighschool

    Now didn’t you hit the nail on the head. Too many homeschool curriculums that simply have the kids sit back & the parents poor facts into them. Raising my hand- I’ve been guilty of this. 🌻
