Thirst implies the existence of water. Similarly, our deep down need for a superior power implies the existence of it.
Oh wow, that's very nicely put. Really stopped me in my tracks with that very simple comment. Thank you brother, and God bless✌️🙏
If I wanted to find an example of someone over thinking things and talking utter gobbledygook this would be my go to video! For what its worth, there is no real evidence for any God or anything supernatural and that's why people are atheists. [or is that to simple for you my friend?] 😊
Thanks for the comment. For the record, I'm approaching the atheism debate from several angles. I'm trying to reach people intellectually, and I'm also trying to reach people spiritually, so hopefully I can people wherever they are on their journey. You may find another of my videos more useful. Check out 'crying over Jesus' on my channel for something less high-brow! Simple language is that faith breeds knowledge in God. To have faith requires genuine curiosity, not dogmatic and formulaic intellectual reasoning
Spread the word 😊❤
Thank you brother/sister, and God bless 🙌 🙏
Appreciate your sharing. All rings true. Here’s to keeping the heart open and strong faith. Thanks for another upload and more thoughts. Still enjoying them all.
@MDWLRK thank you brother. I really appreciate that 🙏. Sorry, I have meant to reply to your last comment, which was really lovely, but I'm just trying to keep out of the comments section at the moment to keep my mind somewhat pure..! God bless and keep well 🙏
@ no worries, reply as you feel compelled. It’s all love. You’re a brilliant thinker and I hope you continue recording and articulating your experience. It’s powerful
Men of cul…. wait, what?
Imagine believing in an invisible man because someone has written it down. Do you believe in Harry Potter too?
Well, I do believe that Harry Potter is a story, and stories seem to be what captures our attention as humans, so maybe the Hero's Journey of mankind is what The Bible encapsulates. We seem to treat life as a story, rather than a series of factual occurrences, or if we do talk about it as a series of facts, then we thread it together into a story. That is something spiritual, outside of the one-dimensional version of analytical reality that seems to be what we generally all wrestle with in our daily lives. And so, I like to think we are both the actors and the audience of God's showpiece. God is perhaps not what we would call a man, but rather a super-conscience
God is Santa Claus for grownups.
And maybe the very mystery of something magical and outside of ourselves, that may or may not be real (I.e. captured through one of the five senses and computable through the brain), is what we crave as humans. When we lose our childlike imagination for life, we lose our identities. Please lean into the magic and turn away from the dogmatic hate
Its sad to see people so mentally behind in this day and age
I am happy to meet you on a mental and analytical front, but here I'm trying to share with you a very spiritual and emotional journey. So, whilst we could brutalise the magic of life through God with our dull intellectualism, I ask you to pay attention to those abstract and loving sensations perceived only in the heart and spirit. It's in there if you care to look. Peace and love and God bless brother 🙏
Mate it’s just a book
I hope and pray that one day you look past the analytical aspect of it being just a book. I also ask that you consider what it is in a good film that makes the core of your very being enthral with excitement. It is not a series of mechanical and formulaic hand and mouth movements performed by the actors, but rather the deeply spiritual journey that those character go on. It resonates with us in a deeply spiritual way, whether we like it or not. After watching a film that rocks us to our core, we don't come away describing what they did, but rather we revel in the journey that the protagonist goes on, and how, despite rejection or persecution, they dismantle whole parts of themselves to reach the promised land. Our soul cries out for us all to go on this journey, and do I share with you a small piece of me to enable you to see the power that this book can have in your life if you just approach it with a loving curiosity. I pray that the holy spirit fires something unbelievably rich and awe inspiring into your life brother. When you see it, your world will turn into a film, and you will never look back. Peace and love brother 🙏
Beautiful. God bless you & keep sharing ❤
Appreciate that so much 🙏 ❤️
Should I start with the bit about how slavery should work? How about the bit where the bloke lets his daughters get raped. How about when god tells people to commit genocide? I would cry too if I thought that the evil god character from that book was real, imagine the horrors she's inflicted on others. But like Darth Vardar and Sauron she's just a made up villain.
Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate everything you've said. I too have wrestled with these rather unsettling parts of the Bible, and whilst I don't necessarily see their reasoning using my human intellect, it does not make me think that God does not exist. I guess it's important to not conflate the question of 'Does God exist' with 'Do I agree with God's actions?'. For me, I know God is real. The Bible is too sophisticated to not have been crafted by a divine power. It simply is not of human intellect. I cannot be shaken on that unfortunately, even though I have tried. So now I must wrestle with morality of these questions you've asked. I cannot speak on behalf of God, but I trust his judgement. I have to. There is nothing down here to hang my hat on.
The difference between God and the big bang is that there's actual evidence for the theory of the big bang. Scientists aren't putting all their faith into hoping it's real, they're following the evidence and creating theories out of that evidence. They're not saying that the big bang is true beyond reasonable doubt. If contrary and stronger evidence was put forth that suggested that the big bang WASN'T the origin of the universe and it was actually something else, scientists would change that 'faith' and believe in the new evidence. To me, that's the difference between these two 'faiths', science follows evidence and is open to change, religion isn't. There could be any amount of evidence against God (or at least the Gods of the major religions) and you'd still have believers. It's basically impossible to stamp out religion as long as humans are ignorant of their origin and purpose and are scared of death.
bruh
Peace and love brother
No such thing as free will.
You know, I am currently wrestling with this myself, and I don't quite know the answer. It's important to hold both a position of recognizing free will and also predesentation, and everything in between. If God operates outside of time, then everything is called into question - there becomes nothing I can hang my hat on. So, I put my faith in God. That's all I have left now
I feel exactly the same way as you do when reading the Quran-I get overwhelmed with emotions and can’t deny that I’m truly reading the truth. I encourage you to give the Quran a chance, as it shares many similarities with the Old Testament. The Quran contains the exact same verses, unchanged since it was revealed over a thousand years ago, and it cannot be altered by man, unlike the Bible. I also want to mention that the Quran has the same God (Allah) that Christians believe in. However, we believe that Jesus (peace be upon him) was an incredible man that was a prophet/messenger sent by God. Unfortunately, the newer versions of the Bible have changed this understanding. There are two chapters in the Quran that focus on Jesus, and also many chapters mention him. If you're interested those two chapters are Surah Maryam (Chapter 19) and Surah Al Imran (Chapter 3). I pray that you continue on your journey of growing closer to God. :)
Of course the Koran shares many similarities with the Bible. It was plagiarized from the Bible and other religions.
He’s a Christian not a Muslim why would any Christian want to read that book?
Thank you for this lovely and well thought out comment. I have really tried to take a mental note of everything you've said here. It's beautiful. I will check out those two chapters you've mentioned - thank you brother 🙏 The feeling I get when reading the Bible is what you're describing when you are in the Quran, which is wonderful to think. Once I have a bit more of a foundation in The Bible, I would like to try and get a basic understanding of the Quran. I shall remember this comment. Thank you and God bless 🙏
Amen brother, currently in a struggle with my faith. Done a lot of sin but always have hope in Jesus. I hope one day il break free from my pride and have genuine repentance
Brother, thank you so much for replying and sharing your situation. You know, everything you said there is your genuine repentance. I feel that you're not pretending to be better than you are, you're acknowledging that you are a sinner, and you're trying to lock on to Jesus. I found for me that repentance was just this messy exploration into my soul. The more I tried to perform, the further from Jesus I felt. Someone said to me recently that we are all forgiven, but we just need to acknowledge our own ridiculousness first! If you can, try to not worry too much about the point of your journey that you're on. He will get you where He needs in His time. You're on the train now, and that's the most important thing. God bless brother
R u sure u r not just mental

@@gustaftheone9279 I´m pretty sure he´s just fallen down a ladder before reading
Thank you for this. I had a little giggle, because I've had to check myself a few times, but yeah it is the truth. I think I had become so fed up with this world and what it had to offer that I went seeking down every avenue I could find. I eventually got handed this Bible and rather reluctantly started reading it and going to church. I accidentally became a Christian 😅
Good comment. Made me laugh to be fair 😅. It's something a little deeper than that thankfully, but I just know in my core what the truth is now, and that's a lot of emotion to deal with!!
Thank you for this comment. You've hit the nail right on the head here. I've been in a deep interrogation of the Bible recently, and it's all starting to click into place in my head 😀
Come on, mate…
Thank you for the comment. I really pray that Jesus moves in your life and that His light shines into the very depths of your being. May God touch you in the ways He has reached me and many many others. God bless 🙌
Godbless you brother Glory to God 🙏

Thank you and God bless. I'm deepening in my faith day by day, and trying to take it slow. I would like to know the Quran a little more once I have a more solid foundation in the Bible. Thank you. Keep well 🙏

💙 don’t let the philosophy throw you. So much exists in parables, paradox, and dichotomy. Like your last video, it is that which is so simple, but made impossible by our pride. I have been having many of these same thoughts and challenged by my own understanding. Once you see it, I feel there is a shift and level of responsibility in our life we cannot deny. Narcissism seems to be a byproduct of existence we are all in denial of. Although there’s varying degrees, everyone wants to be noticed, validated, made right….or something. We’re obviously searching. Even those who don’t want to be noticed likely desire to standout deep in their subconscious. It is only by God, Jesus, only through love that we can overcome this. Of course this is just my two cents, but a lot of what you speak of rings eerily similar to the deeper truths I find myself confronting in real time. We are in this together and I love you and hope you continue documenting sincere moments in your journey.
My penchant for stirring the pot has come to the fore: What if Odin, Vishnu, Osiris and Neptune exist?

"...both of them require you to have faith and belief in a thing that is outside of your perceptual framework". Incorrect. Think about it. If we imagine a person who has zero belief in anything outside their perceptual framework, how would you describe their religious views? They don't believe in god, so they're an atheist. Atheism isn't the church of the big bang. It just means you don't believe in a god. That's it. There's nothing you have to believe/have faith in.
But what if God was real, and in order to access Him, you had to dismantle the logical mind to attempt to see spiritually with through the heart? He who has ears to hear...
@@HuwSaunders1234 That wouldn't change the fact that the premise of your argument is faulty.
We can measure hormones and the big bangs...
What is the we doing the measuring, and what is doing the looking through the lenses of the senses?
@HuwSaunders-tu6xr That's the beauty. We get the same results, regardless of who is measuring it. That means it is way more reliable.

Such a wonderful message. Be good to yourself and God bless you. I share many of the same feelings and beliefs and appreciate you airing them out here.
Thank you so much ❤️, and God bless you too. I think we just want boundaries, all of us! For me, it came from learning to be aware of the stature and presence of God. That definitely put me into my place, which I really needed. But it was also in such a loving and delicate way, too, which is really cool to look back on
@ No doubt. I’m glad you’ve found clarity there❤️paradoxical peace
I had this cnversation with a friend who told me he views himself as an agnostic rather than an atheist, meaning that he doesn't know whether or not there is a god because there is no rationale evidence for or against. I still regard myself as an atheist (until evidence of the contrary :)).
Thanks for sharing 😊. Did the conversation help you to move in a direction? I would just say that God really operates through the heart, not in the mind. So the evidence can be very subtle sometimes... Jesus loves you, and you're here for a reason ❤️
Of course you can, that's the conclusion I've come to after having read both religious classics and atheistic writings. In the case of having read the Bible or Quran, I recommend you read The God Delusion and Letter to a Christian Nations
Thanks for sharing. I have actually heard of The God Delusion - in fact, it was something that drastically tested my faith. I still don't have a good response to it... yet. Letter To a Christiam Nation - I've just checked the synopsis, and I'm also a fan of Sam Harris, so I can probably guess the tone. In my opinion, perhaps both of those books are not refuting God, but saying that they don't agree with how he constructed the world. I think the religious ritual side of things is important to rebuke - there is so much idle worship and pontificating in the church, which is the very thing Jesus came against. So I wouldn't call the loudest Christians the true flag bearers. And in terms of God not testing Job in a brutal way - honestly I don't know. Thing is, it doesn't make me not believe in Him, but it does provoke some difficult emotions. However, even if I don't agree with it, based on the information he's elected to share with us in the Bible, I still want to be on God's side. He asks us to just put faith in Him and to not fear, so that's all I focus on. To trust that it will be alright. The more faith I put in, and that is tested in so many ways, the more at peace I become. I think that it wouldn't be called faith without sacrifice - otherwise it would be knowledge, and then the world would be binary, and then we would be flesh robots. If you imagine a God operates outside of space and time, has effectively an infinite IQ, and also an ability to reason and abstract across dimensions and also through our souls, whilst we are down here fumbling in the dark trying not to kill ourselves, then perhaps all the information we receive from him is exactly what we need at the degree that we could register. Its not enough information so that he can immediately remove the atheist unbelievers, but just enough to entice the curious so he can have a relationship with them. Those getting bogged down in 'the earth is not 6000 years old because dinosaurs bro' are the very ones he wanted to trip up. Perhaps it's the vetting of all vetting processes
@HuwSaunders-tu6xr Even if the question of the origin of the universe or the origin of life were still to be solved in the universe, it would not help to reduce such questions to an abstract concept of a creator, nor would it make any sense to imagine a Judeo-Christian God who cared about mankind's opinion of him on this basis
Cool, you convinced me. God exists and his name is chutlu and he is all powerful and lives in the sea and will send you to drown forever unless you have faith in him. See how that works? You believe in a very specific god and you have no more evidence for him than I do for chutlu. Until that evidence comes along… we should not believe. You need to learn about claims and evidence. We could be living in a simulation but we have no evidence of that so not many of us think it’s true. That’s a claim you shouldn’t buy into unless there is significant evidence for it. Same for Bigfoot and leprechauns. That’s all we’re talking about. You need to provide evidence. You’re making an outrageous claim. Back it up.
I don't need to do anything here because you've already shut me out. I would just say that the simulation theory does not disprove God. What God made is perhaps something akin to what we would describe as a simulation from our limited perspective down here. In that 'simulation' the rules of the game are to draw near to God by praying, reading the Bible, and sharing the gospel. The hidden potion to winning the simulation is to have faith.
@ my point went completely over your head Evidence is all that matters You’re making claims… back them up
@HailSagan22 thank you, and best of luck on your journey, but I'm not here to be disrespected. Please leave if you don't want to talk
@@HuwSaunders1234 you didn’t address my point. I’m asking you very specifically what evidence do you have and you are saying I’m shutting you out? You were not disrespected. If anything I was. You 100% dismissed my point. Good luck on your journey too. Hopefully you’ll get over your persecution complex.
yes you can, not watching the video and listening to you proclaim you know my own mental state better than me because a book says a thing.
So are you saying atheism avoids any form of unprovable assumption? Genuinely curious about your perspective :)
@@jackkennerley3334 yes, and it avoids any presuppositions that change the heteronormative shit that you do in daily tasks
Atheist don't have "faith" per se on big bang theory, its just the best established scientific theory on the origin of the universe , if something better comes up later , it will take its place , I could care less if it changes and in-fact I hope it does , because bigbang theory maybe just a small part of a better more complex theory , so my point being it definitely can't be called faith .
Science builds on unprovable axioms, like the consistency of natural laws or the reliability of logic. Faith enters when we trust these assumptions accurately reflect reality. Predictions only work within that framework, so even science requires a foundational trust.
@@jackkennerley3334 Faith means to believe without evidence , when someone says unicorn exists and you believe it thats called having faith that unicorns exist , in science that is not how it works , you need to prove it through some empirical evidence and your peers will test it by giving their criticism . Don't get these two mixed up , I feel like your trying to make them both make sense together n let me tell you its not working
Would you agree that emotions are something felt outside the brain, but which are then translated into logical and binary ideas in the brain and then communicated through the mouth?
@HuwSaunders-tu6xr I wouldn't agree with that as long as we don't have examples of emotions without a brain.
I've been an atheist my entire 42 year life and I have NEVER had faith in anything. Faith is the believe in things unseen, according to both the Bible and the Gita. I refuse to believe in any extraordinary claim that does not come with evidence. Big Bang cosmology is testable and measurable. Hormones are testable and measurable. I can absolutely comprehend both. No God needed. Also, who's sitting with the idea that the world appeared out of nothing? Atheists certainly don't hold that nonsense position, but Theists sure do, so you're mixing up your points here.
Atheists' entire worldview is that the world appeared out of nothing
@HuwSaunders-tu6xr No, it's not. I don't believe the world appeared out of nothing, and I've never in my life met an Atheist who believes that. If you don't know what Atheism is, then research it or ask. How would you like it if I just made up what uou believe in in order to make you look bad? Don't be a coward and make things up because you're too afraid to understand anything outside of your ignorant little bubble. Isn't there something in your holy book about lying?
@HuwSaunders-tu6xr Nope, you're just an ignorant liar.
I have found no good testible verifiable evidence for any God or anything supernatural. Therefore I do not believe in any God. That makes me an atheist. Now please tell me were I am using any faith?
