For starters, there is a token instrument in use within the game for new works, do your research. Our current track circuit system is also too unreliable for the usage of direction and acceptance levers, and tokenless block is substantially more advanced and complicated than any other signalling method. Absolute block instruments have indeed been used over single line sections, including until quite recently between Ledbury and Malvern Wells, so it is not unrealistic or unheard of in any way. There is no rule preventing advanced "staters" from having their own distants, and there has been many cases where these have been provided. We should bare in mind that Dovedale, whilst being heavilly WR based, does not follow any exact real life standards, and does not have to conform to practises like repeater signals. Also, I fail to see how banner repeaters are relavent at all to this. All the signals found within the area have good sighting distances and thus no need for one to be provided.

Why on earth are there distants for the section signals, or indeed inside station limits in the first place? -The layout is heavilly modelled on the current one which was not designed by signalling experts. It was decided to keep this as it had some advantages. -There is no rule agaisnt providing more than one distant signal. You have starters in both directions on both platforms and yet the running directions aren't suitably labelled as such; why? -Whilst they are bi-directionally signalled, the intention is for the correct running line to be used wherever possible. -It is not mandatory to label the lines as bi-directional. Why does a set of sidings right next to the 'box need a) a ground frame, b) interlocking in the first place? -Ground frames that control both signals and points are always interlocked. -The sidings are often operated independently by a shunter with movements that would distract from the core signalling. -It is released from the box as a legacy from the previous layout, and does make good sense with the current use. Absolute Block instruments rather than an appropriate means of blocking. -There is no issue with AB instruments being used instead of token machines, tokenless block or TCB. -There was indeed a case of a rather long AB instrument worked section between Ledbury and Malvern Wells until recently. you shouldn't be belling 2-1 without being able to determine if the train is complete -In case you couldn't tell, this was just a demonstration video. There's no need for everything to be perfect. Bog off.
