South Jackson Street Band is Middle Tennessee's premier big band playing jazz, swing, Latin, waltz, and dance music from the 1930's through today. We perform for wedding receptions, company events, fund raisers, civic events, birthdays, reunions, patriotic events, dinner dances, dance classes, and any public or private event where the class and style of a big band is desired. South Jackson Street Band - Tennesee Waltz
This song was written by Pee Wee King and Redd Stewart in 1946, and became a multimillion seller in 1950 with a recording by Patti Page. The popularity of "Tennessee Waltz" made it the fourth official song of the state of Tennessee in 1965. Peggy Burton sings the song with the South Jackson Street Band. We recorded this video during the annual Ice Cream Social on September 19, 2024, at the South Jackson Performing Arts Center in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

I love the South Jackson Street Band. Wish they could put the mic closer to the band to preclude the crowd noise. But I really enjoyed the performance.
Unfortunately, we don't have much flexibility in placing the mics at an event. We have considered trying a shotgun mic, but those are rather expensive. We are trying to improve our video recordings. Thanks for your support.
When I was a kid my Dad used to occasionally play that on the piano in the evening when everyone was getting ready for bed.
