Просмотров 149Год назад
Santa Claus, also known as Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, and Saint Nicholas, is a beloved figure in many cultures around the world. While Santa is often depicted as living at the North Pole and delivering gifts to children on Christmas Eve, the origins of Santa Claus can be traced back to the historical figure of Saint Nicholas, a bishop who lived in the 4th century in the region of modern-da...

I wonder if the Celtic god of Halloween was friends with the Irish Potato Goddess... :P
🤣🤣🤣 very possibly!
The Galicians in Northern Spain were named by the Romans, "The Callaici" which meant, People of Cailleach. In time this turned into Gallaecia, and the now Galicia. Portugal, came from Port o Cale, which morphed to Portucale and now Portugal. Cale being the goddess. :) This makes sense because the Lebor Gabála, book of invasions, talks about how the Celts went from Iberia to Ireland. The Galicians and the Irish are cousins ❤
Ahhhhh that is so interesting!
Excellent stuff. Thank you so much for compiling it and bringing it to us. Really beautiful, enchanting eyes too btw 😉 Just less of the American upspeak though as you are a (beautiful) Irish cailín! 😁😘
Is that a Cork accent, may I ask?? ❤😊☘☘ I love all of your pronunciations as Gaeilge.
@Sionnach1601 Definitely a Cork twang. This video is a few years old now, I would have made it after moving back to Waterford after living in Cork for 5+ years. Also married to a Corkonian so will have that twang forever 🤣
My husband gave me an Aran sweater from their online retailer for Christmas, 2023. I wore it all winter. Then I bought it on a three week vacation to Scotland and Ireland just recently. And I wore it every day. Nobody else anywhere was wearing Aran knitwear. Maybe a knit cap. Not a jumper to be seen. And when folks saw us in the pub, and here’s me in my Aran jumper, they literally turned and went the opposite direction. During a day bus tour in Ireland, the driver offered to take a photo of me in my “lovely jumper.” I told him I got it for Christmas last year, and he replied something about it being “a Christmas sweater then.” I took his tone and word choice to mean it’s “a somewhere else sweater,” not so much that it’s a gift. Lesson learned.
To make it very clear there is only 2 genders male and female, facts always beat Ideology.
Hello From Youghal
Can you reuse the same Parshell cross for the following year or do you have to keep making them?
That's what I do. I unmake and use new thread
I'm a bit disappointed that your videos are infected with Marxist transvestite flags. Oh well. It looks like trendy ideological barf. Everybody is so brainwashed by it that they've got no clue. It's very sad. My school tried to reform my personal identity also. I rejected it and then I researched it for a couple years on my own and it's based in fetishes, politics and hatred.
There is a French guy making videos on how to pronounce it. When you say it sounds like Kai-lack. I'm from the USA have veered away from "newage" stuff and neo-paganism stuff in recent years BUT I've always been drawn to the nature deities and my heritage is Irish/Scotch/Welsh. It makes me sad that these old nature linked beliefs have been so side-lined but also swept up into make-believe newage stuff etc. Thank you for this video. I was wondering if there were particular spots she was strongly associated with. Yes, I would like to see a video about particular regions. I think it's more important than ever for people to own their heritage and it's connection to the land. The West is looking at being unceremoniously repurposed for the WEF agenda. I've wanted to celebrate the nature deities ever since my childhood frankly. It's just rather repressed in the USA since my generation and what there is of it is maybe fake-like. I feel people get all their references from Hollywood vampire movies or something. The Cailleach. I've seen some of these Cailleach dolls but is this a new or older tradition?

I came on this by accident and I wish I hadnt. Nothing in this life scares me more than the D word scares.
I played her and it was traumatic
I reckon I have a Puca attached to me. I have a very odd obsession with him as you can tell by my profile pic. And Im not that much into fairy's but I do believe they exist. And I wouldn't be fucking with them that's for sure.
I can't wait to get settled and catch you on some of these trips!
Thank you so much for making these videos Amy looking into stuff for my own wedding and these videos are really helpful ❤
Hello from Florida... This was very informative and I greatly appreciate you taking the time to put it together THANK YOU #BRÓD
I think that over the years the story of the Gansey and the Aran sweaters has become blurred and mixed together. A white sweater as a day to day Fisherman’s garment always seemed bazaar to me. The sweater would be filthy if it was used to work in every day.
I love your music.
So, Irish is equal to any nation. Some are gay. Some are not.
Perhaps, I'm bi. I don't know. But, I don't want to be with another bi. I was taken by two. Makes me afraid of penises. Although, I like straight sex.
My Irish neighbor speaks against the gays. And someone I was in the salvation army with, Mindy is an Irish lesbian. So is her dad. The staff lady said she is gonna turn him straight. Mindy spoke so repulsed of the threat. I'm like, let him be gay if he chooses.
I just found your channel! I hope you come back because I love your videos 🙂 but understand that life gets busy! 🫶
I love the red haired woman....love your channel....keep up the great work....
LOVE what you're doing! Thank you!
Thank you for the info, my bf is from Ireland and he always is so proud and flattered when i show off something i learned about his culture.
I think this is genuinely hilarious Cat king: so my children… have the puny hoomans been good to you Cats: meow Cat king: good good my children…
Yes, more on Faerie cats!
You mentioned someone named Claire. Can you give a link to her?
Claire's video is linked in the description
What weight yarn to use, sport, DK or other? Also, how to place the warp colors? I am making a crios for my son's wedding.
Thank you for all the knowledge you share! Blessings of Bealtaine to you XXX Colette
Pride comes before the fall. LGBTQ chicks all look the same btw. Obese, blue, green or pink hair, to much make up and the only thing missing here is a bunch of piercings. The dudes often look like rats. Seems like being a rainbow warrior isnt healthy or you turn into one because you arent healthy.
Last year my grandfather passed away and we had irish root. My sister told on that morning when she, our mom, and grandma found that he had passed, they looked outside the window to see a robin outside
“Gender is a social construct” Ok…. But vulvas are not. I will never understand why women are allowing the erasure of womanhood. “These dieties just present as females. They may not really be.” Great - now we can’t even have a prominent place in mythology. It’s just male dieties in drag “presenting” as female. I’m fine with correcting the misrepresentation of female deities as sexual objects and demons of lust. But erasing women from mythology is a bridge too far.
WAS SO SURPRISED WHEN YOU LEGALISED SAME SEX MARRIAGE DUE TO RELIGION OBSESSION❤❤❤
Not really obsession, more like Christianity being used as a tool of colonisation to stamp out Gaelic and Irish culture and indigenous spirituality. Then at the founding of the state, the white Conservative men decided to write laws and constitution around Catholic Conservative issues and kept women down. But that's a story for a different day.
Aaaaah, I missed your lil voice. Didn’t realise it until I began listening ❤❤
Awh Trena 🥹
Tnx history legend postulations....on st paddys next shelagh day
All was well before you started using "cis male" and that nonsense. Please don't. I'm no "cis" woman, I resent this language being imposed upon me. If I am expected to use pronouns, then everyone can also RESPECT my wishes and use the NOUNS I wish to use. Thank you.
Well, I use cis because trans people know what's up. You can always scroll on. there's no need to leave a comment if you're that annoyed. Feel free to not watch! 😉 The video wasn't made for you. Not everything is about you, you know. Calm down and stop taking things so personally, jeez.
I'm not a cis woman I'm non binary. We exist and we are allowed to be acknowledged.
And remember the two spirit siblings in native cultures who also identify differently. Many of them kidnapped or murdered. Be respectful please.
@@dystopianwarlordYes, absolutely. So many indigenous cultures have gender expressions that do not fit a colonial Christian binary ❤️
How I wish I could have access to these wonderful books over in New Hampshire? us, if you might be able to send links for the books. I can't find anything here..👁️👁️💯💚🤍💛🍀👀🇮🇪
Awesome video! Thank you for all your hard work!
Thank youuuu ❤️
This was really interesting! I lived in Pennsylvania (east coast US) for a couple of decades, and today they're celebrating Fasnacht day, which is basically Pancake Day, but German. In Pennsylvania, they called it Donut Day, because instead of pancakes, they eat donuts. I'll be honest though, I was a terrible Pennsylvanian because I'm not a big donut fan, but I love a pancake, crepe-ish or otherwise. Thx for all the great info! Glad to see you back!
Thanks Betsy! :)
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you love, please never stop
Thanks Eileen!
On the morning of my brothers funeral,a Robin wudnt leave the kitchen window, when we drove to the church it flewRIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR CAR TIL WE GOT TO THE CHURCH.I PRAY MY NEPHEW SENDS ONE TOHIS MUM.😢
Awesome video - can't wait to see more! Do you know of any Irish witches that fled to America around the late 17th century? And then ended up being persecuted and killed for being a witch in America.
Thank you! I know I haven't uploaded in an age but I am working on several things which I hope to share soon. There's one woman who was brought to the US as an indentured servant who was tried and killed for witchcraft in Boston, her name was Anne 'Goody' Glover. She died in 1688, before the majority of the witch trials in 1692. Thank you for asking the question, she is on my list to do a video on!
Finally saw this video; I missed it for some reason. I was happy to catch up w/you and your doings. I look forward to learning things from your thesis and your possible new channels.
Thank you! I am trying to find time to record and upload videos atm, I have so many planned. Thabk you right the support and encouragement it means a lot ❤️
Again, lovely, so informative and lovely 👀💯💚🍀🇮🇪💚 You are so lovely and so enjoy listening and learning from Irish Pagan School, Tara, Lora, Olgha, Jon. So lovely 👀💯💚🍀🇮🇪💚
Thank you so much for the support Eileen! ❤️
