A bit of a mixed bag this one, lots of little bits. I did some testers with a new glaze as the fact that one of my glazes came from across the ocean didn’t really sit well with me. So the new glaze is produced here in the UK and I’m very happy with its look and feel (and price!…).

Small, but good kiln. Used up some recycled clay leftovers to make little pinch pots (for jewellery, beads, little treasures). The top of the butter dish prototype broke during bisque kiln loading, glaze fired base anyways to see if measurements are still accurate with firing shrinkage.

Probably one of the best kilns yet. The big wheel thrown bowl made it without any cracks and the big hand built one looks very organic with that glaze combination. The Aurora glaze combo came out with beautiful purples in it. Music by Kaufmann - Lisa Thought it fit with the whole Grisons theme, seeing as they are from the Grisons. ♥️

How lovely I can see that some of those treasures were made by children. What glazes do you use? I hope to be able to show children how to make and decorate their own piece of clay one day.
Hi Fiona. The children will absolutely love that!!! I know mine do. I'm using Speedball Underglaze. In the UK you can order it off Scarva.com pottery supplies. I think it's shy of £9.- a bottle, it varies by colour, but they last. They have a tendency to dry out in the bottle, but it's nothing a little water can't sort out. They're really easy to apply, as in they only need one coat. You can apply them to green or bisque ware. You can put a transparent glaze on top (if it needs to be food safe) or just leave them like that. Experience shows that the colours really pop in a 1200 degrees Celsius firing. Because they are easy to apply they are perfect for working with children. They can mix them and they wash really easily off the little legends' hands. Hi! All seaside cups and mugs are wheel thrown. I'm not very good at hand building mugs (believe me, I've tried). :) I hope that helps. Enjoy the journey! Exciting times ahead.
Might need to move the spout higher on the tea pot. It will not hold much tea without spilling out. Always best to have the spout even with or higher than the top of the teapot.
