I am shocked when Simon says he never heard this song before. It seems that the American doesn't sing this most wonderful song in their churches. I am from North-east India and elong to a very small tribe called Biate and we used to sing Calon Lan in our church from our childhood but in our own mother tongue as we have this wonderful song translated in our mother tongue by our ancestors. We sing this song especially in sunday school services for children. It's one of the most Christian popular and loved songs within our community. My ancestors told us we were converted into Christianity from Animism by the Welsh missionary in 1890 and now 100% of our tribe practice Christianity.

I remember singing this in school. Calon Lan, Sospan Fach and Ar Hyd a Nos were common Welsh language songs for us to sing.

I think this piece is hilarious. It’s lyrical in its approach, but makes fun of the LDS in a respectful manner. It’s another physical piece that helps center the boys as they perform. Well done.

I love this song but it is the music not the lyrics because I, like most Welsh people do not speak Welsh. It is a shame that the English translation of the lyrics shows how weak the lyrics actually are, just religious nonsense about a pure heart and a clean heart. I would say that the writer of the lyrics Daniel James has a lot to thank the writer John Hughes for the music that makes this song so special.
