"was that really it, a boss?" yes that is why we keep saying that you need to be a certain places first before others, fighting bosses when you are on their level is just 10x easier. If a boss takes 40% of your HP with 1 hit, you are not supposed to fight him yet, its that simple.

I played greatsword and I really did not enjoy it to be honest. Wish I played with weapon + shield since the final bosses would have been better experience for me if I did that

Runes is your money, he said you should pickup your money from where you died before, since you lose it just like other souls games

the boss on the horse is the first boss you can fight once you have a horse unlocked yourself since you will have 2x health, also going wrench gives you more stats at the start but 0 gear, so you need to get some gear first :D

so if you want a source of direction where to go instead of exploring, just follow when you press map, the grace will point to the next one you should get to in order to finish the main story. I would recommend doing it until at least halfway through the game since you unlock stuff like your horse and better gear faster for bosses ect

To go through the white walls, you need a dagger, sometimes you need 2 daggers, place it inside the gargoyle's mouth to enter. it is like a mini dungeon with a boss fight at the end

Elden Ring is not a hard game, like I mentioned before, DS1 & 2 is harder than Elden Ring, it is just an amazing game with like 200 bosses, open world ect... If you want hard, go play Sekiro ;)

if you make your weapon 2handed instead of 1handed you can gaurd even without a shield
