      As long as you have a working computer you can make video games. Like I said I enjoy making my own 3d assets and I am very new. You do not need to spend money on assets or any courses. If you are not good at art there plenty of free assets you can use as practice. But I do recommend at least trying to make your own art. Join my discord and we can help you discord.com/invite/TRe2B7E

    Hey, looks pretty promising! I'd love to try it out and give you some feedback. Don't worry I do this for fun or when I don't feel like working on my own game so I don't charge. Until you answer, I've got one thing you should probably fix: Right now the thing that's bugging me the most is the walking animation. 1. First it's way to slow. Just from the camera height and the walking speed, I can feel that in real life a person would have made a least 4 steps to travel the distance of one in the current animation. You should speed it up. 2. I don't feel the weight of the animation. You didn't edit the curves, it's just a gaussian inerpolation of height. A more realistic way to animate this would be to a spend more time in the "up position" and immidiately get back up when you get in the "down position". 3. Also it's weird that the animation keeps running even when the player doesn't. 4. The animation should also be played when the player holds the crossbow. 5. Lastly, that one's optional but it does make the walking feel more real when there's a very subtle camera animation. Hope my advice will be usefull, cheers

    believe it or not, i could probably understand your code just fine because i actually learned how to program. it's not easy short term but it pays in dividends. otherwise your "programming" is no different than trying to write a book in a foreign language by cutting out sentences from pages in a different book. do an internet search for "cs50" if you want to learn how to code, it's a free harvard course.

    Im just starting but yeah, as much as i want it to become a business, theres no quick way to do this, i struggle with some money problems, im a 22yo adult, finishing university in a few months, but i can't work a job. I feel so useless, and i just contribute to the energy bills in a negative way. I want to enjoy making games, the feeling of making progress fills me, but man i have a really slow start, each time i feel like working on some models or practice some programming, i can't get the feeling of wasting time and money out of my head, it's like an infection. I also want to try streaming, but i only have a laptop, cant ask for more, no one wants a newbie in online jobs too, i feel horrible... I wish that, with the little progress im making each time i get to watch tutorials to make simple games without hating myself, one day i'll be able to post a game that helps me economically, and boosts me to continue doing this, proving me that im able to do something good. as for today and the near future, ill just survive my thoghts and walk forward.

    AIA commented lol Hey man, I've been learning game development but I took a break because I was moving houses and now all of sudden I find it very intimidating to sit down a make something, I really want to do it, I'm passionate about this and I love problem-solving and creation. Before the break I was would easily sit down for at least 4 hours most days of the week and try my best, but now I feel scared to and don't know why. I did courses for a full month than spent another month trying to expand my knowledge even more with animations, particles, events and post-processing, etc. basically just to learn Unity engine in which I believe I have done well. But just as I was getting into making my own versions of already existing games (i started with my upgraded version of Pong and then started Space Invaders), I had to move homes and I ended up extending that break to 3 months so I could focus on getting my Learner's driving permit which I put off for years out of fear and I regret badly because I'm struggling to find employment, but that's not why I'm here. Now I'm back finally, I have been very eager to start making games but whenever I open Unity and Visual Studio, I know roughly what to do but just can't seem to actually focus on it, I just wonder off or start playing a game or reach for my phone even when it's on 1% charge as I intentionally avoid charging it to resist temptation. I kinda just find something I want to research like the in-depth mechanics of how to use Unity's input system with events, I learnt about UIS and events in month 2 but I want to relearn them, however when I look at the documentation or pull up a youtube video, I for some reason just get up and walk away, as if I'm not ready to let the information sink in. Like I said earlier, I feel mostly intimidated or scared whenever I go to do something and I never fully focus like I did before the break due to the fear. Did you ever experience this and do you have any advice or know why I feel so intimidated even though I got through the initial learning period which seems like it should be scarier? (by the way I would like to note I got out of tutorial hell after like 2 days and decided to do courses instead which was month 1 so to clarify, I know generally what I want to do and how I may approach it but I just can't seem to focus on it) It's fine if you have nothing to say, I at the very least know I need to fix my fear and focus, just trying to figure out how and hoping you could assist. There's just something about you, I feel like you're the guy to ask idk

    • @migcreatesgames2622
      @migcreatesgames2622 Год назад

      Anything new is scary at first, because you get so overwhelmed with stuff that you have to learn. I started game development and I would do a maximum of 15 to 30 minutes of code or design a day. I know that's not a lot at first, but this small micro process make a difference when you first start learning. You want to see if you really enjoy game development or if just something you want to try out. This also trains your brain to not stress out over code or hard designs and also helps with the dreadful burnout. Now I am at the point where I can do 4 hours of game development, because I already know what to do with to do and I don't stress over the unknown. Congrats on getting out of Tutorial Hell!

    • @cheesymcnuggets
      @cheesymcnuggets Год назад

      @@migcreatesgames2622 With tutorial hell it wasnt even the lack of learning anything that triggered me to get out of it, I just didnt like how bad and messy tutorial code was and i didnt want to develop bad habits, which im now realising is kinda wild that i was accurately judging the code and structure of experienced developers long before i knew how to code. But leads to another problem i have, im a bit of a perfectionist who doesnt like to prototype
