    The answer is simple. Bending in the series comes from connection to the spirits. After harmonic convergence, with the spirit gates open, the connection to bending for humanity as a whole that was just out of reach beforehand was finally established.

    My goal is to write a short story with a big plot twist and a very sad death to torture my dad, I’ve already started it and my dad got really upset that I told him he had to wait until I was done so he could read it 😂😂😂 I want to be good at writing becsue I might be a writer, director, or actress when I’m older :D But I procrastinate a lot so I decided to spend that time watching these videos to get an idea of what I need to add

    The only hole in your theory is that Harmonic Convergence should have unlocked the bending of more than just air benders. If it was all a problem with spirituality and the effects of harmonic convergence were worldwide, why did nobody seem to notice non benders starting to bend elements other than air?

    I think the most plausible is that they are decedents. Kyoshi was half and more than likely there would have been others. If you read the story of Yangchen the Air Nomads had towns near their temples. The benders would have to have kids, and If anything those that couldnt bend would not have come to the temple. It also talks about Kyoshi’s mom who almost completely lost her ability to bend due to her illegal activities. This probably is due to it being in conflict with her nature. The decedents probably didn’t have a strong connection to neither the spirits nor the wind. Zaheer on the other hand probably didn’t feel pure with his intentions. Years of meditation can unburden the mind and the extra spirit force could have triggered his abilities.

    I feel you did a really good job putting this together. I have a thought on why things dont add up, as you put it, in Kora. For The Last Airbender - they built a very strong backstory for the basis of the world. Yes it evolved as the story came out, and they did a very good job with it at that. It was more grounded then Kora was. For Kora - this part of the story felt a bit rushed, and doesnt feel like they built it as good as the original. Things where not as grounded and based on training for instance, rather "It was flashy at the end of The Last Airbender, so we need to keep up with that!!" is how the legend of Kora felt to me... For instance, take a look at the average benders in TLA - the good benders have devoted their lives to training, rather then just being naturally gifted every time someone new shows up. Add to this that each Named char in TLA had their own "Level of Strength" There was more variance here, most where just average and where fighters at best, whereas some where considered "Masters" and where VERY few. True you could use Souzens war as an excuse "it caused the death of any great bender of the time!!" - however you see many benders still alive with lots of knowledge and power anywhere, except for the Airbending nations. Plenty of Earth benders with lots of strength, plenty of strong Northern Waterbenders (yes the southern tribe was pretty much wiped out sure) But when you take a look at any bender worth their metal, their history was always full of Training of some kind. Even Toph, who was basically just "Gifted" the power to bend earth lol had trained a lot/been exposed to earth bending from a very young age. Then you look at the Strongest/Rarest benders in this era, it feels more natural to me, they all have a specific reason in their own backstories as to why they are so strong/unique. Next take a look at TLK A once very rare, and touted very difficult to master without hurting yourself, type of ability "Lightning Bending" was pretty commonplace in Kora. This was always one of my biggest problems with Kora, the "Unique/Takes a special type of person" kind of abilities where handed out like candy to random people in Koras time, as the "Story" needed it to be. And this is not a "one off" thing either, look all over Kora's timeline and you see many instances of benders being way too strong for the type of life they lived, and lack of training anywhere in the civilized era... Idk about the comics and stuff... never got into those - but as far as the TV adaption goes, non fighting/non training backstories for people = can bend as good as the warriors of TLA era?? TLK has lots of good points, i want to make that clear, it does have lots of good story and history built into it. But it has too much "Its this way cause the story needs it to be" kind of stuff. Like Metal bending, if it took hundreds of years for Toph to figure out how to metal bend, then she is able to train others to do so, but its a selective process. Then in Koras time, tons of people can metal bend... it feels wrong imo - Lightning bending set Fire benders apart from others "Only those with very clear minds can do this" - would make sense if for Metal bending "Only those with unmovable minds can do this!!" Just like flying air bending "Only those with no attachments are able to do this" or waters "Only rare people born with a natural caring heart can Heal bend" - Not in Koras time tho... IMO - Legend of Kora, while attempted to have a strong history and lore to the world, took too many shortcuts and had too many "Its for the story" moments, and thats why there are lots of conflicts, as is with the big bad being beyond a Master level Air bender when he simply "Awakens" to his new power...

    Energy and energy transfer as spoken by the lion turtle. Aang.. when he went into the avatar state.. for 100 years he pulled all the air bending spirit energy from the future offspring in order to save them and himself. Spirits are unpredictable but have their own way which always plays out in the end. Which is why they dont do much. Avatar is the bridge. So because the bridge was blocked, closed or broken no future Airbender or airbenders could be born. He the avatar needed that. When he came out he had 2 purposes, to restore that airbending spiritual energy to the people which is spiritual and he wouldn't have known because as far as he knew his connection was to the past avatars and not raava. Furthermore that block wouldn't existed because of the almost perfect level lightning that was sent through him. Now airbending itself is spiritual so because spiritually aang needed that energy he was given it. The teachings however went on to the survivors in the colonies. Who married off and had children in other nations. Thus Tai Lee and her sisters. Why were they born without airbending? I'm sure all the parents were wondering and never said anything because it could expose them. However because nobody was born with airbending they assumed for the first generation or more that the avatar and their connection to airbending and spirit world was severed. However it was also spirit planned to keep them safe. If you look at all the airbenders seen in atlab and the acolytes and cross reference the new airbenders after harmonic convergence there is a lineage connection there. Think about the convergence like when aang got hit by Ozai and that rock slap unlocked his avatar state. That allowed the spiritual flow of energy to burst open and give airbending back to the offspring of the acolytes and airbenders. Much much much like when aang learned how to go into the avatar state. The creekflow of energy that is airbending was mucked and the convergence is like a spring rain cleansing it and restoring the flow.

    What I remember about the rise of the woke Disney Empire is... is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Star wars fandom, the star wars IP was discreetly transferred into the hands of one Kathleen Kennedy. It was a silent transfer into the once beloved Disney corporation. We the loyal fans original trilogy and prequel all knew what was about to happen, what the stiffs at Disney were about to do. Did we fans have any doubts? Any private traitorous thoughts? Obviously, but no one said a word. Not on the destruction of fandom Canon and legends, not when the Order came down from Kennedy to "wokekify" and ruin our beloved franchise in the name of progressivism in which they worship,and not when cancel culture and the woke mob marched into Twitter and all other platforms. Not a word...

    No actual airbenders survived only those who stayed at the temple but couldn't bend survived. This is how we got more spiritually connected people in the world n that's only because the fire nation saw them as no threat it was actually speculated that Ty Lee was a descendant of one such survivor

  • @Sugar_Whisky
    @Sugar_Whisky 6 месяцев назад

    I believe that some individuals may have chosen to suppress their bending abilities as a means of self-protection, potentially making themselves targets. This decision could have been passed down through generations (Besides the spiritual balance having been broken), resulting in their descendants unknowingly losing touch with their bending heritage. The recent opening of the spirit portal may have triggered a resurgence of these latent abilities in those who possessed the potential to become airbenders, explaining why not all descendants were affected. With that said, yes, I agree with your thinking just needed to phrase it with my own words.

    I've always been of the opinion that sand bending tribes would be the perfect place for any surviving airbenders to hide. Not only do they live in deserts which would have a lot of places to hide or escape, but they also cover up from head to toe so any air nomad tattoos would be hidden, and I think it would be possible to use airbending in order to pretend to be a sandbender, since air can pick up sand.

  • @Tipperkit
    @Tipperkit 7 месяцев назад

    Another theory as for why they lost their bending was that they married other benders. Look at aang and katara they had an even number of bending kids. But maybe it's like recessive genes, an airbender marrying and earth bender would possibly produce an earth bender based also on personality. We saw aang struggle with earth bending because it was an element completely opposite of him. It's just a theory but I think about it a lot. Also the fact that there weren't any airbending surviving that war. They fly and we're nomads soo 100% they could have escaped and hid out. But anyway the only ones who know are those who wrote the story ❤❤❤
