So doing that: A | \ | \ | \ | \ | \ 5 | \ | \ | \ | \ | \ B ____________C 3 In degree mode: 1/2 * 5 (one side of the triangle) * 3 (the other side of the triangle) * sin(90) Answer: 15/2 In radian mode: 1/2 * 5 (one side of the triangle) * 3 (the other side of the triangle) * sin(90) Answer: 6.71 How do you know which one is the correct area and which mode should be used here?

Rule of thumb: When you use trigonometric functions, then use radians. Otherwise, use degrees. (Unless it is stated otherwise in the question).
