Nice tie, norvise rocks!
Making the peacock herl into a chenille is one of the most useful features of the Nor-vise.
Didn't highlight the unique advantages of the Nor-vise system one time. This kind of videos isn't going to sell any vises.
You forgot a few things. #1 the pattern you were tying. #2 To use the standard hub with the shank jaws to make the hook shank rotate inline. #3 That this is a promotional video for Nor-vise. You tied most of the fly as you would have with a fixed jaw vise. The rotational advantage of the vise was far from highlighted. The rotation is THE reason for buying a Nor-Vise. Most, if not all, other vises in this price point have far superior jaws. The rotation advantage must be stressed in a company promotional video. Show how to reinforce the peacock by spinning it around the thread to make a "chenille". "Tying better flies faster" is what this vise was designed to do. Check back on Norm's videos and watch how the advantages were shown at every step. It was because of his showcasing the unique features of this vise that made me buy one when I already own a Renzetti Presentation 4000. I never in a million years would have spent the money for a Nor-Vise if the videos I watched didn't show the unique advantages of this system. Please take this as call to improve, rather than beating you up for the sake of it.
Thank you,I learned a couple of things(hackle tie off and better material handling).
Looks like cousin it from the Adams Family.
WTF! It’s not a Spey fly.
Yay!!! A Norvise tyer using the features of the vise!!!!
Why don’t you use the rotary feature of the Norvise to wrap the hook and other steps? I tune into the channel to learn to use my vise
Thanks for showing the NorVise features
Nice to see you use the spinning feature of the NorVise
Looks like you use UV resin but I did not see you use the flashlight to cure it?
You make it look easy! Thank you!
Ok great fly! Great tying instructions! But I have noticed that the recent tyers do not use any of the features of the Norvise… not even dressing the hook. I watch the New Norvise Channel to learn techniques for tying on a Norvise… anyway just saying, could be any vise. Found link by Dave Allison pretty much the same. Only tyers that I watch on here are the Davenports… they show off the features beautifully.
Search Norman norlander the inventor he shows the vise to it’s full potential in his videos
@@Paradise_found I have watched all of Norm’s videos. I just noticed that many of the tyers now featured on the channel do not use all the vises potential advantages.
@@50Squirrel yes I agree I’ve noticed that also why buy the norvise system if you’re not going to use it the way it should be used
Nice. Almost looks like an undertaker and a zulu put together
love the video, what kind of brush is that and where did you get it?
Thank you, great video! What brand of craft fur is that and where do you get it?
Hi, I enjoyed the video but please tilt your camera down. No need for that bright background and would rather see your hands prep the material.
Great carp fly! The attributes of using a Norvise however were not demonstrated. I notice this quite often on the “new” channel?
Hi from Norway, I have a question: I'm tying "away from me", with my thread: What is the best direction for spinning dubbing? Is there a difference? ( two questions actually)
Hey Tim, Good to see you guys on here... Nice bunch of flies..
I like. That's the first I've seen this fly from Kelly. Thanks for sharing
Nice looking critters, I'm sure the fish will love them.
Hey tim
Dave, great tie. I've tied them with the hackle stacker style. I agree with you, these are fantastic. But I've learned that I should tie my next ones on heavier wire hooks as the light wire hooks I've tied on have all bent from the viscous eats by brown trout! 😂
Thanks! I always thought I had to go back to the eye, before "spinning".
Nice looking dry! Love my Norvise, Will make a few and try down under in NZ once summer hatches start. Thanks.
What size is the Nano Silk?
Great video!
SOH. lol. Thanks for video
Nice
Nice!! Thanks for sharing!
Read my mind
Excellent video!
I have watched this three times. I tied one in black and orange and one in green and black. What will eat them?
Anything that will eat a baitfish.
I have spent a small fortune at Ed's fly shop. Great shop.
Very nice
Excellent! BEAUTIFUL fly! Thank you!
Nice video! Are you using a camera or a phone? I hope you come back to the Denver show!
Awesome tie
Great video and presentation, Dave. This is a great tie, I’m a big fan of synthetics.
It is advisable not to tie a black fly against a black background.
Love it! Great pattern.
Beautiful fly Susan!
How do you apply dubbing in such a prefect way?
I’d say it’s his years of experience, but you also try tying wax
Is this vise a Nor-Vise?
Yes he has the fine point jaws on
Great job. Very clear and easy to follow.
A lovely-looking fly. Well done. Thanks
Awesome tie Dave! Such a great pattern!
glad your back hard to watch next day still good
