    Making the peacock herl into a chenille is one of the most useful features of the Nor-vise.

  • @webb-cast1030
    @webb-cast1030 8 дней назад

    Didn't highlight the unique advantages of the Nor-vise system one time. This kind of videos isn't going to sell any vises.

  • @webb-cast1030
    @webb-cast1030 18 дней назад

    You forgot a few things. #1 the pattern you were tying. #2 To use the standard hub with the shank jaws to make the hook shank rotate inline. #3 That this is a promotional video for Nor-vise. You tied most of the fly as you would have with a fixed jaw vise. The rotational advantage of the vise was far from highlighted. The rotation is THE reason for buying a Nor-Vise. Most, if not all, other vises in this price point have far superior jaws. The rotation advantage must be stressed in a company promotional video. Show how to reinforce the peacock by spinning it around the thread to make a "chenille". "Tying better flies faster" is what this vise was designed to do. Check back on Norm's videos and watch how the advantages were shown at every step. It was because of his showcasing the unique features of this vise that made me buy one when I already own a Renzetti Presentation 4000. I never in a million years would have spent the money for a Nor-Vise if the videos I watched didn't show the unique advantages of this system. Please take this as call to improve, rather than beating you up for the sake of it.

    Ok great fly! Great tying instructions! But I have noticed that the recent tyers do not use any of the features of the Norvise… not even dressing the hook. I watch the New Norvise Channel to learn techniques for tying on a Norvise… anyway just saying, could be any vise. Found link by Dave Allison pretty much the same. Only tyers that I watch on here are the Davenports… they show off the features beautifully.

    Dave, great tie. I've tied them with the hackle stacker style. I agree with you, these are fantastic. But I've learned that I should tie my next ones on heavier wire hooks as the light wire hooks I've tied on have all bent from the viscous eats by brown trout! 😂
