cool configuration. you spent a lot on those subs for that space. is it really that much cleaner running 6 subwoofers as opposed to only 2? the sb-4000 is a very capable subwoofer. back in the mid-90s, when i was a soldier, there was a kid i knew who stacked 4-sets of 301 bose speakers with 4 adcom amplifiers and a processor that i can't recall. you're right about the clean sound with no distortion. it's one of the most amazing things i've heard to this day...and the only time i've ever heard speakers stacked in any configuration. thanks for sharing.
@@joshuad3 Thanks. I think it comes down to ability of the subs themselves but when you have multiple subs sharing the load they will usually benefit from low distortion and effortless because they are playing louder at the same relative volume. You gain 3db more in output just by stacking them and when you calibration them your going to level match to 75db. So at that point you can crank them up and get extremely tight, high spl without bottoming out.
Cool! 😎👍
Whats is better ported vs sealed?
@@nathaneldogo it’s depends on the application. Ported subs tends to play louder but are susceptible to chuffing/port noise when pushed too hard. They tend to roll off faster than sealed . I find that Sealed subs are easier to blend with speakers especially for music and seems to stay away from the mids. If your undecided you could opt for subs that come with port plus so you can tune them.
@ thanks 👍
You’re very welcome!
Svs sealed sub is good for music?
@ yep they are good for music. I prefer sealed subs in general since they typically blend well with music and does not interfere with mids in my experience.
Talk about overkill .I have 2 10s drivin by crown 900 watt side and it's a problem pissing off neighbors cuz the siding vibrate weird noises and the cops show up. Hate to say it dude but take it from home theater contractor sound guy you just need 1 maybe 2 subs with those Martin Logans .standing half waves phasing issues in that room is a nightmare if you must do this group them all together . I mean I have had to tap in breaker box to run 4 18s in my house and the Bass is addictive so relaxing down to your bones but you end up with is hearing damage it's not sustainable
I’m happy to report I don’t have any of those issues you experience. Also to clarify the stacks are grouped together via the sub1 and sub2 channels from my processor. They are daisy chained with the same channel LFE and are level matched and have the same time delay. I also have no issues with vibration and my house is not next to my neighbors house and in the 20 years I’ve never had anyone complain or have officers show up at my house. I definately have no standing wave issue as your not taken into account that my living room opens up to my kitchen dinning room and stair case that should be included in sqft as bass obviously doesn’t stay in one room. Also Bass frequency are unlikely to cause hearing loss. You are likely to get hearing loss from higher frequencies at high volumes for sustain periods. Also distortion will cause hearing loss at high volume vs a clean undistorted signal. I do not have any of the issues you described. Sorry to hear you are having negative experiences with your setup. Hope you can solve them that way you can enjoy your content. I appreciate your comments
Very nice! I too enjoy Dave with my mini stereo system. ruclips.net/video/Rl6qOxh2q68/видео.htmlsi=3T5h5TI7nb8l6rI4
I would upgrade to either an Emotiva RMC-1+ Pre-pro with their XLR output expansion modules or an Anthem AVM90 15.4ch pre-pro if you’re going to be adding wides and Atmos heights. It’s highly wise that you change out your processor
@@damianjackson5055 Thanks for your comments and recommendations. I’ll definitely check out those two options. The expansion module sounds interesting.
@@ProfoundAV-123 It’s always a great game changer towards to closer to a Trinnov end game system
Awesome setup! Absolutely love what you’ve done with your space. Even though folks stack their subs all the time, you’re the first I’ve seen share the SVS SB16 stack on RUclips. Definitely inspiring others and convinced me to do it as well. I’m the weirdo that’s gonna do the dual quad stack though. 😂
Thanks. I thought about dual quad stacks but would first I need to buy a ladder to hoist them up. lol and you can count me in as a weirdo who would try it as I’m always inclined to experiment. Thanks
@@ProfoundAV-123 That’s for sure…Probably two ladders and a second pair of hands! Those things are heeeaavy! 😆

I also bought the 130. Sounds fantastic with the bartok. I’ve got in a video also under my profile.
Sound like a fantastic combo. The Bartok was on my short list when I was looking for a Dac. I’ll definitely check it out. Thanks
Front wide are awsome, it gives way bigger frontstage. But a good 5.1.4 gives another dimension if the atmos channels are perfectly placed.
Yeah I agree. Maybe one day I’ll add the front height and hear how it sounds but from what I heard it’s best to add at least four like you said in which case I would need a new processor because I’m limited to only front heights when using wides.
Insane setup! 🎉🎉👌👍
Thank you
unfamiliar with this brand, I bet it sounds good
@@MEAREMLG Thanks for leaving a comment. It definately sounds amazing in person. I’ve been a fan of the Chord stuff since I bought the Hugo back in 2016. @@woohunter1 too funny😂
JTR’s M-Wave setup had subs attached to each channel for full range and they had LFE subs. What you are doing makes sense based on my experience. I think it was Lucas’ THX that set the standard of 5 identical speakers crossed over to the sub at 80Hz. Personally, I like the full range bed layer approach and am actively working to move in that direction myself. Atmos is ok, but I think a really great bed layer is 80% of the experience.
100% agree. Atmos is good but the bed layer is where it’s at and I think is the reason why I prefer IMAX over Dolby Cinema. IMAX is focused on dynamics and Dolby cinema leans more on 3D immersion. impact in terms of tactile bass in imax. My local Dolby cinema uses butt kickers in the seats comes across somewhat bloated vs slam.
Grateful for our blessings. .Very nice setup, sir. Enjoy
Thanks for the kind words.
Statics are the best, if you had one nothing compaire with them!
Mine sounds good if im tired or not
Love this setup
Thank you Very much.
If you have a Denon or Marantz, you can add the two additional channels if you add an external amplifier hooked up to the pre-outs. I have a 11.2 channel Denon x6700H that can add 2 more channels (13.2 total) when I add an amplifier, which I just got. Now I'm just waiting for my extra speaker wire to get here so I can activate all 6 height channels (7.2.6) not going with wides.
@@FURognar Thanks for the tip. I take a look at my owners manual to confirm. Only issue for me is wides are a must have, so we’ll see and if I solve the issue I will report back
lol, have the same Salamander rack as you too. You and I must have a lot in common lol. it's expensive, but holds up over time and still looks brand new after 15 plus years. Why do you have all those Subs stakcked? why not spread around the room?
Yeah the Salamander is a well built unit and has a timeless design. Also I went with the stack look because I was intrigued with what the coupling effect of the subwoofers adding to overall performance. I’m also limited in subwoofer place which is why I went diagonal which measures well.
like the video. Dude, I had that same TV, well perhaps the model before yours, mine was the Bravia XBR-65X900A, loved that tv. Had to give it away as it was not running well after about 7 years. But we got a lot of use out of it, probably like 5 hours a day on average if not more. The speakers are so good on it, the downside was you couldn't add a sub or surrounds to my tv and therefore they were only used till I got a surround sound system. Yes they are the best speakers ever on a TV, however, any decent surround system with a dedicated subwoofer should be better. So I stopped using the TV speakers and then I was like why do I even have this tv anymore, it had no apps except for Netflix and was incredibly slow year after year. It was incredible at the time. It still looks cool now.
Thanks. I love this tv and have not had the urge to get another. Sony processing for pic quality has been amazing over the last decade so that my brand. I dread the day that the tv will start to shows signs of aging but thankfully it’s going strong after 9 years. Also the building speakers were the best but I could tell you because I have never used them for obvious reasons.
Very good job!
System sound so pure ❤❤😊
Thanks for the kind words
Your somewhat slow and slightly stammering speaking style comes across as authentic rather than slick, masculine, and pleasantly mesmerizing.

Bruhh 💀. You, Sir, have a very generous and tolerant wife. Legendary setup!👀👌 Have you ever heard the difference between a power conditioner vs an AC regenerator?
Thanks for the comments. My wife enjoys the setup just as much so that makes life easy. lol. I know the difference between the conditioner and regenerator but have never used an ac regenerator in my setup. Stromtank is one that comes to mind.
I am more of a two-channel listener, but I have a question about atmos. As far as original soundtrack recordings go when playing movies back through an Atmos system, Does the DSP separate the channels to Atmos even though it wasn't recorded that way? I ask to understand if it is only new and future movies would benefit from the Atmos. I have heard there is a push on the music side to incentivize recording in Atmos. I suppose the theory is to give the listener the illusion of being on stage in the middle of the musicians as opposed to being in front of a stage. Pardon my ignorance but I am fairly new to system building and my goal was only to include movie watching as a benefit of the system not the primary function. With the music side of things going in the way of Atmos I'm thinking I should consider its implications going forward. Will music recorded in Atmos sound bad on a two channel system?
@bobr9605 thanks for the comments. Atmos is only available if the movie soundtrack was mixed and encoded that way. Your speaker configuration also plays a part in how your processor maps and renders the Atmos . The minimum speaker configuration for Atmos is 7.1 so you don’t necessarily need to install heights to decode Atmos. I’m not using any height speakers and my processor still decodes Atmos since I meet the minimum speaker layout for the codec. I’m not sold on Atmos for music at the moment and perhaps it’s because the music were not originally recorded that way . I prefer the original stereo mix and I often times listen in multi channel stereo which mimics live event I also turn off room correction When listening to music as it does not sound natural to my ears. So I’m not in any rush to hear Atmos for music. Hope this helps
@@ProfoundAV-123 You do learn something every day. Thanks. My Marantz is a 7.1 Atmos But it is usually used on Pure Direct. My room is an acoustical mess and room correction on some recordings does help but multi-channel is only fine if I have it on for background. Luckily my speakers have great base because the pure direct feature cuts out the signal to the Sub. This hobby is maddening sometimes but a ton of fun.
This dude must be single.
Nope not single. Thanks for the comments

Agreed. Vinyl for me is here to stay.
I have many TVs in my house and 3 of them were 3D and two of developed different picture issues but I refuse to get rid of them. I put them away in a closet in hopes that one day there will be a cheap solution to repair them. I also keep buying 3D versions of DVD movies to watch on the one TV that still works and in hopes that 3D will make a return where they can be used on a larger scale
@@geraldslonaker3289 Fingers crossed that your right and history repeat itself with 3D making come back.
Watched one of your videos before this one, you have a major fan from now on dawg. Very impressed with your system
Thank you very much. I really appreciate the support.
Wow......zero room treatment but awesome setup
Thanks for the comments. Just so you are aware, Martin Logan speakers are less dependent on room treatment because they have a controlled dispersion pattern of 30 degrees horizontal which means you get less wall, ceiling’ and floor reflection versus dynamic driver speakers. Don’t forget furnishings also acts as acoustics properties. I also have an area rug too which helps. Believe or not but The stacked subwoofers also acts as active bass traps by virtue of stacking them in the corners😀
@@ProfoundAV-123I found out before that a room with to much treatment, is worse than a room that needs a little bit more.
@@woohunter1 That statement is correct. You can over treat a room to the point where it’s sounds dead and lack dynamics. Room treatment especially defusion is essentially causing high frequency roll off. The goal is to have balance.
Out of the whole video, I’m most appreciative that you called the turntable a turntable and not a “record player”, thank you!
@@eagle2D2 Thank you. Happy to hear your takeaway from the video.
does it really matter? it plays record's right? So you're happy over semantics? Record player makes more sense then turn table wouldn't you agree? If someone knew nothing about this device, explaining to that person by calling it a record player would be the most efficient way. Like a CD player, or a Cassette player, or a Blu-ray player, etc.

Definitely don’t sound like studio monitors. You have those way to boxed in. Pull them forward. My wife freaked out when I brought mine home.
@ProbeRoket Thanks for your comments. When I heard them the first time the impression was that I was listening to studio monitors. I’m sure the electronics played a part. I still get the studio vibe now in my current setup. They are uncolored’ natural sounding and transparent like studio monitor which makes them very revealing like studio monitors. I believe it’s the combo of the chord Dave and rs130 that adds to this and extremely holographic where sounds float in space. Not to say you should use them for monitoring. Just my impression. I Also like where they are about 3 feet from the back wall so won’t pull them out to impede the walkway. Hope your wife got over freaking out and appreciate them now.😀

We have similar speakers somewhat... I've got ML Odyssey which have plenty of bass, Theater center, Arius rear. I have 2 Velodyne dd12 for music and a pb16, Klipsch rsw 15, and tactile transducers for movies. I would highly recommend ported subs for shaking things and people lol. Sealed for music except Trap and Amapiano genres. Those need ported bass.
@@daniells71 Nice setup. I have always loved sealed even though you get more out from ported subs. To my ears sealed subs are easier to blend with music for some reason and I always felt that even though ported play louder they have a sharp rolloff at certain frequencies. I tried loving ported subs but kept going back to sealed. Just my taste. 😀
That's a 3D TV correct?
Yessir
The fact that you can configure speakers to large means that it has purpose if you can find use for that configuration and it works then do your thing. Not everyone has their crossover point at 80 its a general rule but it's not a box. If persons have larger speakers that can be configured differently then why not. And yes bass can be localized so your set up should sound good but personally I'm not bassaholic but I do love good bass. Thanks for explaining I was wondering why so much subs but I get it the only thing I may have done differently is not have the one in the back that couples the left and right rears I would have kept them separated.
@@Jcan4u thanks. As for the rear subs. I’ve tried with and without and preferred it being in the mix as it provides and mid bass kick that i like. It’s a 10 inch driver vs the other two which are 12 inches. The mid sub it getting both left and right signal. I don’t believe there is much coupling going on because it’s a smaller driver and and not necessary playing the same signal. There may be some couple perhaps as certain freqeuncies but not to the extent that one would think. True coupling would involve same driver size playing the same signal. The dual stack SVS subs are truly couple since meaning the three subs in the right from are coupled to each other and the rears stacks would be coupled to each other since the driver are the same and they are getting the same exact preout signal.
Love all the gear but invest in a bigger place lol your gear deserves to be show case in a better way I’m just saying lol 👍🏻
