King Alfred glorified his God, God Almighty the one and only true living God, through Our Lord and Christ Jesus, God save the King.

You've been taken by the wind You have known the way of sorrow Doors that would not take you in Outcast and a stranger You have come by way of sorrow You have come by way of tears But you'll reach your destiny Meant to find you all these years Meant to find you all these years You have drunk a bitter wine With none to be your comfort You who once were left behind Will be welcome at love's table You have come by way of sorrow You have come by way of tears But you'll reach your destiny Meant to find you all these years Meant to find you all these years All the nights that joy has slept Will awake to days of laughter Gone the tears that you have wept You'll dance in freedom ever after You have come by way of sorrow You have come by way of tears But you'll reach your destiny Meant to find you all these years Meant to find you all these You have come by way of sorrow You have come by way of tears But you'll reach your destiny Meant to find you all these years Meant to find you all these years

A church band with both cello and mandolin?! Am I dreaming a beautiful dream or could this be real? Lovely.

I thought the "angel choir" effect was cool.

How did you find this song? it's such a beautiful song! check out Julie Miller's version from her CD Blue Pony. that was my first time hearing it. then the next time I heard it was the band Cry, Cry, Cry which is made up of three folk artists who also have solo careers. Richard Shindell, Dar Williams, and Lucy Kaplansky.

The "angel choir" part with the women was a little over the top but, otherwise, I LOVE this arrangement of this song!! So often it is hard to hear something other than the "original" many times without it seeming like it is lacking, but this is just wonderful and so different than the original that it is uniquely its own!!

Biggest problem is that no one in the congregation actually seems to be worshiping :( This cries out for some movement and dancing and, well, liveliness.

@@vegangelist , Perhaps this is an evening concert, and not Sunday worship. The room is set up like a stage and not like a sanctuary. There is also clapping at the end.
