Good job very informative 👍🏿
@@bogiekmh44 Thanks for watching!
Great video love this breakdown I love defence and this helps me learn how to see things on the court especially in the diamond press.
@@iwikiwi213 Thanks for watching!
Love the drill, but two comments on the Canada. In younger (4th or 5th grade) games, your wing players that far from the three point line might not draw defenders out in actual games. The spacing is great, but not if the defense doesn't honor deep threes. On passes from the corner up, not having the corner player basket cut costs you a double gap opportunity for the wing they just passed to.
Thank for checking out the video! I am glad you like the drill! At the 4th/5th level I would definitely hone in on decision-making and adjust the spacing to suit your needs. Good spacing is hard to come by so the sooner you start to teach it, the better. Good suggestion on the corner. That corner cut can impact ball reversal, so you just have to make sure the wing attacks the double gap.
Terrible Defense
@KennyPowers101mph Definitely missed a switch or did not communicate it which makes the set difficult to defend.
Caitlyn Clark’s thinking is next level
@@ElyseMcmillan No doubt about it!
The glaze is crazy
@jess-hc4xg 😂😂 I just like the play itself
Dont like it
@@albertoshum1486 Helped them win the game
NBA players do the same thing, that's onnthe opponent for facing away🤷♂️
@moonmanstan I haven't seen someone do it to run the clock..I have seen them throw the ball off someone and score though.
@@GetBetterBasketball i know, just for the win but.... this time all people do same thing, im done with it, its not profession, its not serios this look like a street game, dont like it, just it
@@albertoshum1486 oh wow. I think it's just a next level basketball play. High IQ.
Nice play
High IQ play!
If that's next level then what you call men's basketball. They been doing this stuff 😂😂
I've actually never seen this happen in any basketball before. Throw it off a person on purpose to run the clock. I have seen players throw the ball off the back of a player and get it to score in a BLOB play. I've also seen them throw it off someome to avoid a 5 second count.
shows how much you dont watch sports then. but thats ok im not trying to be rude bout it just pointing out that not anything in the "new age" is actually new. its been done before. they just trying to hype up the new players and give them a bit of fame.
I saw at least two travels here.
The refs did not call a travel on this play. Either way, it's a solid action that UCONN uses.
@@GetBetterBasketball It’s a solid play. Just saying dudes traveled.
@@The_ZeroLine Thanks for checking it out!
They left too much time on the clock.
Coach not sure if I missed it or not but I never saw that’s second video with the wrinkles you mentioned. I saw this press played by Central Valley HS washing state and they took state and national titles with it.
Great offense
@@chadspencer954 Thanks for watching! I'm glad you liked the video!
Love this, run this with my 8th grade girls.
@MikeGuerrero-c9e Thanks for checking out the video coach! The 2-1-2 is definitely a great press!
Wish there was a printable version of this
@jasonstone7584 Thanks for checking out the video. I'm going to see if we can something together for you.
I'd be surprised if the two defensive forwards would play outside your double stacks. That would literally leave a 4 on 1 against the center.
If they play inside we will pin them for an easy shot. I note the F on weakside could be inside. Any way they defend it, you can adjust which is why I love it. We have seen both in, both out, playside out/weakside in, and them get in stacks. In a traditional 2-3 in the half court teams like to hedge the F on the wing so a lot of teams will keep them out or 1 and 1. We have options however they play it which is why I like it. Thanks for watching!
Well explained with the clips to really show what's going on - great video, very helpful
@laslow1988 Thanks for checking out the video! Glad you liked it!
Awesome breakdown coach! Morgan Wootten had about the same adjustments used with this type of defender at dematha HS.

Great breakdown. Thanks coach.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome. Keep up the great work Coach Demarco!!!!
Thanks for watching!
Great stuff coach going to use this. Can also run Hammer on the twist side 👍
Thanks! I'm glad you liked the video. Hammer action is a great suggestion that will open up the corner player!
Really, dude, that's just the oldest overload I could remember 20+ years old play.
Thanks for checking out the video! If you like true Overload sets, then check out this video that includes two of them: ruclips.net/video/V_d6Gjpk3mE/видео.html I wouldn't necessarily call this USC set an Overload, but everyone has different terminology.
Good explaining thank you!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked the video!
Talk about throwing the kitchen sink st the other team. Love it Coach DeMarco!
Thanks coach!
You’re not running the 2-2-1 correctly
Weak side guard will usually rotate back middle, but I do see a lot teams rotate opposite half court player middle then back. Also different variations of the press. We used to run and jump out of a 2-2-1 set up.
would love an update on how this works vs odd front presses
was that final pin-down not a moving screen? clearly not enough to be called...but sometimes what coaches show as "great plays" are just examples of quasi-illegal screens. Looking at you, Dramond and GSW. But this action is really cool with the series of screens being set.
Thanks for checking out the set. Glad you liked it! The number of screens UCONN uses are really difficult to defend. You could probably call an offensive foul on a screen most possessions in any game, so it's definitely something they have to think about. I dont think the screen impacted the play as the defender was late. Either way, as long as the officials are consistent in what they call during the game.
Coach, thank you for your videos and enthusiasm! Coaches at any level should be watching these. Also appreciate you explaining other possible reads out of these plays!
Thanks for watching! I am glad you are enjoying the videos!
We use to eat off of this press in middle school. We went 45-0 in two years, but the bulk of our points came of this press.
Thanks for checking out the video! This is a GREAT press that can be a difference maker. Glad it worked for your team!
Great stuff and thank you for explainging so thoroughly!!!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it!
I love it! The only problem is NCAA has become the old NBA - fouls not really called. At the prep level, that is clearly a moving screen for the 3pt shot.
Thanks for checking out the video coach! I appreciate the insight.
Man Coach this was awesome !! Thank you so much! Getting better everyday!
Thanks coach, I appreciate it! I'm glad you liked the video!
Lameee
Coach..I started running this with my Grade 7 team a couple of months ago...its worked well and today it helped us win a Canadian Youth Basketball title!
That's awesome, coach! I'm glad to hear it helped your team! Thanks for checking out the video!
Change your Ball screen DF to DROP. Iverson cutters position is too high. His man can easily stunt to the POP.
Well executed. Not very complicated, but when it’s done right, it gets ya good looks. I saw this game. The Zags played tough. I don’t think they’re quite as talented as some previous Gonzaga teams, but they are always very well-coached. Thanks.
Thanks for watching! I agree that this Zags team does not seem as talented, but they are definitely well coached and hard working. This could be the year they surprise people in the tournament.
Throughly explained! Bravo!! Have had this play in my repertoire but definitely will implement it this summer and next season.
Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed the video!
Wow, this was great. I loved it when he said if you can't stop our base stuff, im not going to show you anything else. Just keep eating 🍴.
Thanks coach! I am glad you enjoyed the video.
This is against Man. Wonder why Calipari didnt change to zone at all
Good point. They could definitly make that adjustment. I'm not sure how much zone they play though. Or, they could consider switching their ball screen coverage. They did the same thing each time. I'm guessing their was a reason they didn't change.
Coach are you always trying to trap?
Coach Murphy said he really wants to emphasize that corner trap to speed them up and force them into difficult decisions. Try to isolate the ball on a side of the floor in not able to trap.
Love your videos Coach thanks. Any Man BLOB defence will switch on screens so unless they are not a good defensive team the middle monitor will not need to occupy himself with that action. What this really is, is a screen by the low post for the inbounder to shoot a 3. If the defence is decent the dump in to the post will not be there. It might work once but eventually the defender will jump that screen
Thanks for checking out the video coach!
How would you teach this version of the press? Want to try and add it to my team next season
I think you really just have to adjust the madman who is usually on the ball to face guard. He picks up first guy to cut to the ball and double him. If that player catches easy trap or they often don't catch. Two players defending the guards stay a step behind to force into trap. Later in game they cab be more aggressive knowing the back to players will pick up anything long.
are these against a zone press or man ?>
You could use it against either, but primarily used against M2M at the end of the game to get the ball inbounds.
It's a good video, but too much extra commentary for young coaches. They could get lost in the I would do this or I would do that.
Glad you liked the video! I'm not sure what you mean with regard to commentary as that is the preferred audience for this video per RUclips. Details matter! Thanks for watching the video and the feedback!
