@@Binge-Watcher1 Possibly, most ghouls were created during the war from people who had the genetics to survive the radiation from the bombing. That is IMO how the Ghoul came to be. But yes it is possible Lucy could.

Well the Ghoul is #1, but a surprise to me was how much I liked Norm by the end, his story is just beginning back in the vault

@@Binge-Watcher1 Oh i've been asking myself that question for weeks, Think it has to be Colin Farrell for being able to emote through layers of make up and how his character made me forget it was actually him.

OMG!!! I couldn't agree more!! I've been saying the same thing as you... when I watched the Batman movie, I didn't even realise it was him until my friends were talking about him after the movie. I re-watched the movie when it came out on Prime Video and I still couldn't believe it... I would say that he is also my favourite character too. Coming in second place... I would say Victor because his character development in the show was really interesting to watch. What are your predictions for season 2?!?!?

@Binge-Watcher1 It is a fake trailer. It's by a channel called Screen Culture that makes fake trailers. They took the actual teaser for Born Again and extended it to a full length trailer by using clips from the Defenders shows and Echo.

@@tsukasa1608 thank you for sharing this! I appreciate the level of insight you have here! There was similar feedback with the rings of power being far apart from the books. What do you think the reasoning is behind these shows being so far apart from their books?

@Binge-Watcher1 it's a hard book to digest, also very slowpaced, rooted in Chinese culture and not character driven, Netflix needs to reach wider Western audiences which not going to stick if they find it boring, thus some changes are unavoidable, such as Westernized the whole cast and also dumbed down the science.

@@Binge-Watcher1 Wallfacer's plan should remain unchanged, and the core of the whole trilogy which is the Dark Forest hypothesis.

As a fan of the books, I think the Netflix version was far from perfection, it was too simplified and shallow when compared with the much superior books, however it's not a bad adaptation, it's just interpretated differently and much more character driven than the original concept driven source material, IMO it's a good introduction of the IP to newer audience. However, as a fan, I'm much prefer the 2023 Tencent Chinese adaptation, which significantly closer to the book than the Netflix adaptation and many scenes were perfectly visualized just as how I imagined when reading it.

@ I really think the show has potential but I think they need to up their game to make it live up to its potential in season 2. I really did like the show but having not read the books I think that’s where I’m missing something clearly and that’s the knowledge you have. What do you think needs to come in with season 2?

@@Binge-Watcher1 yes, whatever they featured in the first season were merely prologue, barely tickled the surface, were nothing when compared with what comes after, D&D also shown great interest in the later books compared with the 1st book so Im interested to see how they will adapt those plot, and I really looking forward to the "Red Wedding" of the series, fans of the books do know what it is and it would be something you've never seen depicted on screen yet. Im also really looking forward to the 2nd season for the Chinese series as the director said they will give it the same treatment just like S1, being as faithful to the book as possible, and they will also cover that "Red Wedding" scene, it'll be interesting on how different production team will visualized the same iconic moments from the same book.

@ the red wedding sounds interesting! Part of me wants to ask you what’s going to happen and the other doesn’t want to spoil it haha. Instead I’ll ask… what happens in the red wedding from the book? 👀🍿

@@Binge-Watcher1 Humanity got too confident and overly optimistic about our future because despite our science experiment were surpressed by Sophon we still manage to develope our technology and built a space fleet. That, ended really ugly.

Yes, I really enjoyed the portrayal around him. I don't doubt that its going to be better in the books but I haven't read them so I only have the show to go off and I found it enjoyable. Were there any character that let you down?

@@Binge-Watcher1 I wouldn't say let me down, but annoyed me, yeah there are two. Celebrimbror (think that's how it's spelt) whose uncharted levels of stupidity and gullibility are unsurmountable. And Miriel. She's just so pointless and gormless most of the time. What about you?

@@mhairilindsay5848 I get what you mean about Miriel. For me, I would agree that it was Lord Celebrimbor... I don't know why they made him so weak and vulnerable. I would have liked to have seen him be a bit stronger than he was portrayed. Have you read the books?

@@Binge-Watcher1 I read the Lord of the Rings books. But it was so long ago I forgot a lot. They when the Lord of the Rings movies came out, I ended sort of blending the two things together lol

Reason I ask is because there has been a lot of negative feedback towards the show and the majority of that feedback has been in cases where people have read the books, like we spoke about in our earlier conversation.

Exactly, its like the feeling I have with Star Wars... I watch it, whether its good or bad. I do completely get your points here. I think the feedback has been very very similar. I respect your opinion also because you have the knowledge from the books, which I haven't had the pleasure of reading but I completely understand as i've been there before where there is a massive difference between what the books have brought to life and what's being shown on screen. Is there anything that they could do with season 3 that could save the overall show for you?
