I tried that and got scammed by a guy who sold me a car with a trash transmission. I’d rather bite the bullet and spend an extra grand to have someone to yell at with the dealer.

U get scammed more by private sellers lol plus if I’m dropping real money on a car I’m going to a dealer unless I’m dropping like 2gs on a beater car

A bunch of people who were dogshit at selling anything came up with a get rich quick scheme where they'd ironically sell their "systems" to car dealerships and because the owners and managers were also so shit at selling things, they ate it up and it spread it like a plague. One of their tactics is to require salespeople to do a "turnover" of a customer to a manager 100% of the time no questions asked... which is completely stupid and totally impractical but it gives the managers who suck at selling things the opportunity to act like they could've made a difference in locking down a sale from the person who wandered in from service for a cup of coffee/water or the person who literally was just looking around and ran from the salesperson to escape before the other parts of the bs system started. And yes, I've actually had customers run from me when I was in sales because they didn't want to deal with our bullshit while they were actually just looking around and had no intention of buying anything and I have gotten my ass chewed for not collecting their information from them while they dove into their cars. The people doing the ass chewing are the same people who brought "4 square" into the world and think that when people follow them when they ask them to it's because they have some sort of superpower rather than someone showing a small amount of respect that can very quickly and easily be taken back.

@@turkeyguy0that actually almost happened to me when i brought my truck in for an airbag recall service, the sales person was trying to convince me and tried to sell me their jeep gladiator, i said nope im not interested; I'll stick with my old truck. That day i felt that the sale person was a hungry vultures, thinking if you look at one of their vehicles, you are interested into buying one of their vehicles . That day it convinced me that every sales person from every dealership are hungry vultures, they will not leave alone, you just in for just a recall.

@@turkeyguy0thanks for explaining. This explains why the time I went to buy a car, but it was being sold as I got there, the salesman got really mad at me because I didn't want to talk to the manager and talk about other cars

@@misaelherrera2845 Most sales people are actually alright but it's the general managers and owners that get involved with all the nonsense "self-help" style selling tactics/systems that really mess things up bad. Then the Sales Managers will ream the sales teams' asses if they don't do what the system says, carrot and stick situation. Push the turnovers or we don't give you any appointments from the call center this week... don't say a word after you present the 4-square and go over the options until they pick one or we're going to make you detail your own cars that you sell rather than having the detailers detail them for delivery. Get everybody's name, number, email, address and insurance and sit them down at a desk before they look at anything or we'll make your desk the furthest from the door so you'll never get a walk-in unless you go stand out in the lot and car-chase. They do enough of this to you as a sales person and you either leave or you comply with their shenanigans they get you going "Good Afternoon, follow me on over to the desk by the way this is Kyle he's going to tell you all about our Premium Wheel and Tire Repair Package and Warranties in a couple minutes when you buy something, what's all your personal info so I can put it in the computer" before you even know if the person is there to buy a car (and they also believe that everybody is there to buy a car "nobody comes to a car dealership to not buy a car") Now the way around all this is really simple, when you are buying a car, find the young guy/gal on the sales lot and pull them aside or better yet drag them outside as if to look at a car and tell them this; "I AM looking to buy a car today. I don't want to deal with all of you guys' shenanigans today though. I'm after X car, I want this, this and this if you could get it in x color or with x option that would be fine but it's not necessary. I want to be out of here in 2 hours or less, if you don't have what I'm after today I'm willing to wait up to a week to take delivery so you guys can find it and get it in. Want to sell a car today? Perfect, let's go in to your desk so you can take my info and we can talk to your Sales Manager quick while you grab a plate and keys, we're going to take something similar for a spin to make sure I like it and I want to see my options around X terms." If you got a trade pass the keys off to the salesperson when you give them your info. No bullshit, you'll be in and out in 2 hours or less and even if they don't have what you want, that salesperson is going to love you and they'll find you what you're after and/or go to war with the managers for you. If your after the best possible deal you can get, be ready to play games for a month with 5 places and 20 different people and have a battle plan in place for what you want like warranty and accessories and if you don't want it just "nope, nope, nope..." to everything they say that isn't on your agenda. Little bit of a long read but I hope it helps you and some others out who didn't know about all the bs while at the same time keeping some of the sales guys out of trouble with the managers.

Sell low cost, no one will be able to afford cars for 5 to 10 years. If you have a mortgage it will be high for the next 5 ton20 years? You'll work to pay triple what your house is worth and for the next 5 years to 10 years it might be less than what you paid for it if you bought it lastv3 years.
