ruclips.net/channel/UCpmdwAO_TXBljuqgE-7wuSA FINALLY, the weather has cooled off enough to allow up to get back out and enjoy some fossil hunting! ruclips.net/channel/UCpmdwAO_TXBljuqgE-7wuSA The heat in Texas is really starting to scorch, but we managed to get out on a hunt & IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! We found some AMAZING finds, some of which I would consider once in a lifetime! It's not often we get a chance to find some of the rare fossils we found on this trip! Barbara ended up getting a bite from a LoneStar tick, which has been bugging...

nice finds well done
Thank you!
Perfect point!
I thought so too!
Good finds !
Thank you!
This is the coolest spot ever! I need to go there asap!
It's pretty awesome!
I’ve found some amazing outcrops around Wilson Creek… I’ve even found a meteorite 😅
Wow that's something!!!
Yadkin or levanna
Woah nice
Thank you!!
Hey that’s right around the corner.
Lot of rain came through this morning, might be worth a look! 😊
@@TheAdventurousCouple water is up. Might wait a day or three and take the my favorite granddaughter out this weekend. We often go north to OK for the big ammonites... getting harder to find.
What county
Dallas County!
Nice... we don't find anything on the gulf coast
castoroides
100%
At 6:04 there is a large dart point at the 4 o'clock position just off center. It is beige in color.
Alas, it is the elusive leaf pretending to be a point 😥 good eye!!!
Beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
Trash cans? I have mixed emotions. If you hauled it in. YOU haul it out. Why should the city be responsible for your trash?
They shouldn't. I agree with haul it in haul it out, but I'm sure since the city is creating a fossil Park, more than likely trashcans will automatically be placed in the park area.
We found over 1,000 shark 🦈 teeth in 3hrs in this video!! 👀👉 ruclips.net/video/OihOFtnATA0/видео.htmlsi=_49D2rKJhWkaFjUT
That is super cool 😎 👌 👍
Thank you!
Wow 😮😮
What do you use to keep mosquitoes away? I’m allergic. Would love to get out there! Thanks?
Honestly I haven't noticed that I get bit by mosquitos while here
Sounds great! Bathrooms and maybe camping or R Vs.
Right?!?
😮😊
Thank you!
I want to find some
You totally could!
That is super cool
Thank you!!
Waterloo lake was destroyed by "a park" construction and development destroys the very thing that makes it what it is. What construction company can afford to sift dirt to make sure nothing is lost. Small fossils can lead to major finds. But maybe we need another concrete walking trail parking lots and street lights. No thanks
Fair enough, I can understand that
Guys I'm a long time Texas fossil hunter and I used to reveal spots online, and every single one has been destroyed, vacuumed dry. I have taken people on hunts and they've sworn up and down that they would keep a spot secret, and within days I see them posting about them online. For this reason, I have not posted a fossil hunting video in years. Something to think about...
We typically only hunt known fossil parks like NSR or Post Oak, but this one spot we did reveal bc it's a housing development that's about to be unhuntable due to all the houses being built. We are very choosy about revealing spots. Which we why we tend to stick to known fossil parks. I understand what you mean
I need to get with you guys about a location I used to visit. It was a layer of sharks teeth about five inches thick in the side of a creek bank. Since that was the source, there were many found very easily.
That would be amazing!! You can shoot us a message at NSRFossilhunter@gmail.com
Hi You'll. December of last year my wife and I stopped by the site on a drive back to Houston from Kansas. We started finding ammonite segments right off the bat (our first ever), took awhile for the heart urchins, but we eventually found many. As I'm sure you know, the site is rapidly being covered with housing development. Very kind of you'll to share the site, a lot of folks wouldn't do so. Love your videos, keep on fossiling!
I'm really glad to hear you found so many great fossils! You're welcome!
Awesome finds, will have to meet up so you can show me how to find fossils.
We checked out your channel. Cool videos. We also do a little bit of metal detecting but honestly don't know enough about it yet. Where are you located? I saw in 1 of your videos a lot of snow, so I'm guessing not where we are in Texas lol
@@TheAdventurousCouple Moved to Waco, been here for about 3 years now. We can learn together.
Love you two!!!
Thank you so much!!!!
Well that was fun, except for the snakes in the water, no thank you! New sub, looking forward to more, get that goal!
Thanks for the sub! We appreciate you!!!
sweet
Pretty amazing you find shark teeth given it’s supposed to have been millions of years since Texas was covered by the ocean.
They are sharks teeth from the Cretaceous Period, when Texas was under the Western Interior Seaway. So the teeth are indeed fossils from extinct species of sharks.
Do you guys need permits to collect fossils in Texas?
No, unless you're hunting Corp of Engineers land and apply for a permit to gain permission.
Awesome finds, that mosasaur vert is very cool!
Thank you!!
Now see…I’m in Florida…with a number of similar fossils ….but we don’t get in water that looks like tea! Lol
I can imagine not! Gators!
“Getting down to the creek is pretty treacherous “ LOL. There are toddlers that go there almost every single time I go. It’s walking in the dirt 😅
It is a bit treacherous for me, I had spinal surgery and the older I get the worse I am on my feet 😆
@@TheAdventurousCouple fair enough! When it’s wet it’s certainly more than a hand full to shimmy down
Great video! I hunted that river a lot back in the day; it's a bit much for an old man.
It is a bit much. A week later, I'm still hurting 😆
@@TheAdventurousCouple Wanna go with you guys one of these times, though! It's a cool place.
There’s no controversy. lol. It’s welcome. There may be some people who think it’s THEIR creek, and don’t want to share with others, but there’s no controversy.
Nice trip. Love the gastros!
They were a really neat and surprising find!!!
Great finds and adventure guys ❤
Thanks so much!!!!
Always hunt in the Winter....No snakes...
Not true in Texas. Plenty of snakes in the water.
Not always. It depends upon where you live.
Yikes! That first snake was a venomous Copperhead.
Imma answer to the title Yes i definatly would i love snakes beautiful but sometimes dangerous creatures
It was worth it!!
I've got the fossil hunting fever real bad right now hahaha.
Me too! Fossil hunting season, weather is getting better and better!!!!
@@TheAdventurousCouple can’t wait to see more from yall!
This corps of engineer land?
No, we've only hunted 1 Corp of Engineers spot but we were given Permission. It was Lake Lewisville Dam. We went with Dallas Paleontological Society.
Barbara seems down to earth 🌎 woman ! 👩 hard to find good girls like her ! 😊
Thank you!
Amazing find!
Thank you!
Wow that’s cool
Thank you!!!
That is an awesome find,
Thank you!!!
Awesome find ,I’m super jealous ❤
Thank you!!!
Wow great finds ❤
Thank you!
Went to the NSR Sunday, off the FM 68 bridge. I didn't find much, just rocks for the tumbler. My roommate found a decent squalicorax tooth. He gave it to my dad as it was his first time hunting with us.
The river needs a really good rain for sure
