I believe that every human yearns for a place where they can trust without fear, where they have someone selfless to walk beside them, and where they can rest and relax without worry. In today's world, this seems increasingly difficult to find. As someone who practices Wicca and was raised in the LDS church, I am committed to creating spaces where people can lay down their burdens and be vulnerable, allowing them to regain the strength they need to be strong again. From my understanding, many religions teach that their God(s) help those who help themselves. Karma also states what comes around goes around. So my goal is to be a safe person where people can let go without fear of judgment. I will offer support as much as I can without compromising my own well-being, and most importantly, I will not push my beliefs on anyone. Instead, I will listen. If I am unfamiliar with their religion, I will ask questions to understand better and use their own faith to inspire them. If I am knowledgeable, I will use that understanding to provide comfort and continue to listen. Regardless of our belief systems, we all face human struggles. I aim to be a selfless person who walks beside others, even if only briefly, allowing them to rest and be weak without fear. My hope is to inspire them to pick up their burdens once more, well-rested and ready to tackle life, ultimately making the world a better place. Because one day, I will be the person who needs a selfless person to walk beside me.
