Just a sample of what I've been able to gather with my Celestron CPC-800 with a Orion G3 Deep Space Camera and a Starizona Hyperstar lens. All photos are raw and not pre-processed. Saturn and the moon video was taken with a Orion Starshoot Camera with Saturn having limited pre-processing.

Hi Steve, thank you for sharing...what program did you use for viewing your images as they were taken?. I have the same scope with the Faststar and the Starlight Express H9 camera.....Cs :)

Hi Vin, I use the generic software that came with the camera, namely "Orion Camera Studio." Planning on upgrading the camera soon but I wanted to see what I could expect with the Hyperstar lens, so I've been using the low-cost Starshoot camera for a while. None of the photos I"ve taken so far are stacked, just single shot and post processed with Nebulosity and saved as jpegs.....just haven't had the patience yet to take darks/flats/bias frames.....most of the deep space shots taken here are less than 1 minute.

Thank You for the response Steve, the program i use is the Starlight Live software. it's a free download and auto stacks as it takes pictures you can also timestamp your images which is handy, it was my 1st time using the Faststar the other night so teething problems with focus but i was impressed with the images i had taken that night, i think the main problem with the cpc i have found is the bloated stars but i can live with that if my images turn out well...Thank's again ..

Vin, I have the same problem with focus....it's very difficult. I may go with a micro-focuser one day. I have had some luck with a Bahtinov Focus Mask which is around $25.00 or so. It's not perfect but it helps. Since the Hyperstar attaches in place of the mirror, I use a velcro dew shield which somewhat holds the focuser in place which is essentially a piece of plastic with patterns in it. I still think a micro-focuser would help.

@@Desertskyobservatoy1925 yes i think that focuser would help a lot but a touch pricey yet...onward's and upward's :)...Have a great week...bfn...Cs
