Nice video. Out of curiosity, was there any surprise reward after completing the tutorials? I'm replay the game. I'm about to do the tutorials but first I want to finish the open scernio game first (get all the possible player towns and make them all rich status). Also, I know that you get the possibility of 16 players town in total but I can only get 14 out 16. Is that a bug? Did anyone else get all 16 towns?

Maybe its better to start over and build crayers at least 10-20 in year 1 to two The problem is overstreching, im doing the same misstake over and over. ...

Thanks for great tutorials! I learn a lot. Is there a way to show stopped production/materials needed without having to enter each town separately? I believe you addressed this in one of your videos, but now I couldn't find it.

Thanks a lot, I learn so much. I know the basics, but you provide all the small tips and tricks that makes all the difference. My two huge lessons from this video: 1) You can drag the goods up/down for priority. 2) You can instruct the trading office to keep a few items in office for production. I didn't know either was possible. Now my auto trade will be so much smoother. Follow-up question for 2) Lets say I produce skins i Reval. Then I need Iron goods for production, so I will always have a few iron goods in stock. But I also want to export iron goods to nearby towns. I mark the circle that you showed so that my convoys won't completely empty the trading office. But what number should I type? If I type 10, it will keep 10 in stock. But then the manager will also only buy 10, right? I want him to buy as much as possible (for the set price), but I also want him to keep a few in stock for production. How do I ensure this?

You started loosing money and dipping below zero again when you chose to buy 120-ish skins in Reval. Those be expensive!

Great stuff! Lol i have the hardest time trying to keep my captain instructions straight, too. I'm REALLY bad about remembering to tell them to grab more of a good from my hub and then ALSO drop off more at the target town. Like, today i noticed that my visby captain was going back to reval with fish, and i wasn't sure why. Turns out i bumped up the amount he was collecting to 50, but he was still only dropping off 30 when he got to visby. Probably done that 100 times over by now 😆. I like to set my instructions up kind of like you showed in your tutorial: 4 stops, one to pick up goods from home, one to pull goods from the target town, one to deposit goods in the target town, and one to drop everything back off at home. Before i have a trading center, i still keep 4 stops, but numbers 2 and 3 are selling to and buying from the target town respectively. I used to do those in one stop, but you keep more free cargo space if you sell everything you can first and then buy. Then when i do get a trading center, i just have to change "buy" to "pick up" and "sell" to "drop off" and it makes life easier on a forgetful dude like me lol.

Good times! It's nice to see the money flowing again; i think you really have your momentum now. That must've been super hard since you're on a higher difficulty AND started businesses early. Lol to get out from under that AT ALL is a super accomplishment :). Very enjoyable, ready for more lol. Btw, that captain you got around the halfway mark of the video (on the gdansk i think?) has 3 sailing and 4 fighting skill. Sounds like a good pirate hunter to me ;). Just saying

Try to use the undo cross and get the refund instead of using the shovel to undo because you spend money using the shovel and lose the investment in the building. Be careful because the undo has a timeout and also when you change the camera.

Awesome stuff! Next time i get in caesar, I'll definitely use some of your layout ideas. I always do 9x9 squares for housing, but that can be an issue in maps where the landscape isn't as open. I hope you're enjoying the game so far, and that the combat won't turn you off to it lol. That was always my only major complaint with these games: the combat is dog water. Also a heads up, whenever i would play this as a kid, the military engagements ALWAYS started before i was ready, so it's worthwhile to let weapons be one of the first industries you put up. Also, if i remember right, there's a mission coming up that has a glitch. I don't recall all the details, but there's something or another about the flow of immigrants stopping when playing a particular map on very hard, which makes the mission impossible to complete. I'd bet that Augustus fixes that, but i wouldn't swear by it. There's a guy named Gamerzakh on here that does a lot of retro games, and he has a video about it. I'll try to find that and link it here just in case. As always, another super enjoyable weekend watch! Ngl, many times I've sat around daydreaming about being a citizen in my cities and just going about daily life with all the people and markets and workshops. Just seems so peaceful. Maybe I'm just a weirdo 😆

Happy patrician day! Everything looks to be coming along great 😀. I'm really glad beneke didn't manage to yoink anything this time lol. I'll bet your rostock ships are enough to nab him, although I know you said you're hesitant. If you just load up those two ships with 1 cutlass per sailor, I'd bet money that you can steal that ship of his with no problem. Just remember to go straight for the capture so he can't shoot you, and keep your other ship close to shoot him in case you start running out of sailors. I'd bet anything you could catch him next episode. I think you hit on a really good idea with the pig iron route through reval and Stockholm. You might also want bergen on that route, and possibly Edinburgh. It'll actually help out in a lot of ways. 1) you bring pig iron to places that make iron goods, and you profit and they make more iron goods 2) you buy up all the iron goods they make with the iron and then sell that mainly to places that make skins so they can produce more 3) the places that make skins have a better stock when you go around I love the cascading chains of effects in this game, it's like a super drawn out, intricate version of chess. Oh yeah, last thing. I don't think you'll need it yet, but in my big game I have a three leg pipeline delivering goods from far east to far west and vice versa. I had a leg from Groningen to Aalborg, then to Stettin, then to reval. Helped out in keeping wine and beer flowing east and honey and skins flowing west. It was also really nice to have a few convoys constantly shuttling hoards of bricks from my factories in the west all the way up to reval when it came time to start expanding some walls. I'm up to 750 mil in that game, and over 450k occupants! I just can't bring myself to quit it. I wonder what will happen when I hit a clean billion.

Great job! It's great to see another connoisseur enjoying this classic. Lol the first couple missions are very much on rails, so that's why some of your housing didn't fill up immediately and why people started leaving towards the end. It wasn't anything you were doing wrong :). I've never played the game with the Augustus mod, so some of my comments may be a little dated as you go through. Ngl, the quality of life improvements in pharaoh and emperor were amazing. Which reminds me, you were correct: caesar 3 was first, then pharaoh, then emperor. I forget where Zeus came along... definitely after caesar and before emperor. That's the only one i haven't played much. Lol back in the good ol days caesar 3 didn't have roadblocks at all, which could be a serious pain. It looks like you're off to a great start! I will mention that you have to be careful which things you put in which warehouses. Market ladies are perfectly happy to grab anything they can get their hands on, and sometimes that leads to a lot of houses evolving before you're at all ready for it. When i was a kid, i could only ever get to about level 5 because i didn't realize you could just put one tent down next to workplaces to give them access to labor, so i would always try to cram all my industry within walking distance of my housing areas lol. I literally didn't know how to get around it till i was in my 20s 😂. Anyway, I'm really glad to see your enjoying it so far! It's a really good game overall. It gets a little unbalanced at times; for instance, you'll get to a point where you end up throwing down like 20 theaters or temples in a row just to offset unemployment and/or boost one of your ratings, but in general it's smooth and wonderful! I'll definitely be following along and chipping in with whatever help i can along the way.

Great work, I play along listening to your playlist in the background haha, I love this game I've been playing it since I was a kid. btw the best way I've found to profit HUGE time early (as a good guy so no piracy of any kind) is to supply the cities that produce iron goods with pig iron nonstop, this way you ensure good prices on iron goods and (even more important) the fabrics that belong to the cities never stop producing because of lack of raw materials (Lübeck, Scarborough, Reval etc.) then you basically distribute the excess of iron goods these cities create to the surrounding cities. Thats why ships are the most important thing in the early game (way more important than offices or fabrics) because the more ships you have the quicker you could monopolize this iron goods/skins commerce to generate insane amounts of profits.

my first and second small ship i gave them to pirates and with a 500 fine each, they give me a good amount of money. i like also lending as much money as i can keeping a decent reserve fund at max interest

i usually play in ultra slow with the calander button to accelerate time, at least in early game, to minimise downtime and i have no patience and feel wasting time deciding what to do because of fast time

Hey hey! Another great episode! Lol I'm so sorry beneke got you again. You'll get him! One thing you might consider is to grant some loans at the money lender once you have a few ten thousands in the bank. They take a few months to pay back, but at the end you either get repayment with interest, or you get to impound their stuff which sometimes also gets you a new ship, and at the very least will get you some goods to sell. It's nice to have a handful of those rolling in the background, as you can grant up to 3 loans per city. I also saw that you just started caesar 3 with the Augustus mod, so I'll be checking that out too! I'll save another comment for that one to boost engagement :). Lol not by much, but i gotta do my part!
