When doing a timing chain does it matter what what rotation you refit the the variable cam sprocket as I didn’t mark them before refitting ? I have aligned the cam sensor pick up though.
We have same car and engine. Ours is rattling on start up, been told it probably needs a new chain and associated components. Also they think the vanos system is faulty as it's running lumpy idle and hesitating on a light throttle. 116k miles. Worth fixing?
Michael Thanks, i got the same problem as you, so the output clicks. Its not possible to replace only the output? Is it really important to replace both?
I had same issue 3 years ago like on 00:17 the vanos gear itself its faulty and you will need a new or used from scrap car .
