35000 Watts: The Story of College Radio is a feature-length documentary film currently in production, exploring the legacy of college radio. This is the untold story of college radio brought to life by the students behind the mic and the bands they made famous. It’s the story of the youth and music culture that originated, and later flourished, on the airwaves of American colleges and universities, establishing a new generational voice and a new path to success for many alumni and artists.

Where can we stream this?
In theaters first, then some one will pick it up. I hope.
I was at KFJC in the San Francisco Bay Area 80s to mid 2000s and we were the strangest spot on the dial for that territory. We had all kinds of live shows, and as the technology grew, we had live remotes from all over the world! The Louie Louie Marathon got us on the front pages of some major newspapers, but I think the super-wide inclusive programming makes the station what it is. I was an ol' geezer jazz guy when I showed up, but I got time to do a program every week, andI did fill-ins for other shows. Then they found out I also liked Zappa and other strange stuff and it was all good ever since! I know it is like that for some other college and community stations around the country - it needs to continue...
