Because musically, most of it is nonsensical. His playing got far more melodic over the years.
@notmiSCares Scream has a shred section, followed by pure melody. But sure ignore the second half of the solo
@notmiSCares Eh. Perception. Because I disagree with almost everything you said. The MIA shredding is awkward clunky phrasing, randomly connected into a repeated arpeggiated type of line. Scream like every other solo on the self titled felt carefully constructed and fit melodically to match the song. Mia just felt like “oh let me just stick a solo here. I’ll do a quick melody followed by unorganized licks that don’t really connect to show I can shred, and end it with a nice cliche from the eagles.”
@shredgod6394 I really don't think it was out of place or really had any melodic problems. I think it's a solo that benefits heavily from having multiple harmonizing lead guitar tracks, as well the rhythm guitar. I don't think it will ever sound amazing live, because what do you leave out? Does Zack forgo the rhythm to play the needed harmony, or do you get rid of that entire layer of texture on the lead to play the backup rhythm. Either way, a critical reason for why it sounded good on tape will be missing. Also, I'm replying to a 2yr old post 😅 I hope you are well these days.
