I started this channel so that I would be able to share videos I make with my drone and outdoor hikes. This world has so many beautiful places and I believe that they should be recorded, shared and enjoyed. I feel like the Pacific Northwest has a lot of those places and I hope to help those of you who don't get to or have the opportunity to see them in person at least see them here. Another nice video. :) Ever have any bird attacks or close calls? Have you come across anything to alleviate the threat? lol I had a close call on the Nehalem river this past Saturday and upload the video on my channel. I had a bit of a panic when it happened. 😂
@@chapelperilous9966 Thank you! I have had lots of close calls!! I just had one today 🙌 usually it's the sparrows or crows/ravens and from time to time it's a hawk. When it happens I fly back immediately!! I'm in their home 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🙏 but it is very scary. I carry binoculars to check on the drone close up too 😀
@@leviconnelly79 That's true, it is there home. I don't like it when it fly is buzzing around my head in my home! It definitely gets your heart beating. Good call on the binoculars.

Nice video. I particularly like the angle on the river around the 3:30 mark. Interesting formation along the river bottom. Don't really see that from the shore. Looks like you are having fun with the drone. I have caught the bug as well! I got lucky with a sunset and the marine layer on Saturday.

Nice capture. I have been unable to find enuf maneuverable airspace over the McKenzie Pass area lava fields that is not designated as wilderness area (NFZ).
@@edruttledge342 Really? I just checked this area again and it's completely open to fly. It is over Willamette Pass though. McKenzie is a bit tighter for NFZ I agree.
@@edruttledge342 if you go past McKenzie Pass to Suttle lake it's wide open! Very beautiful too 🌲😉 outside the burn from 30 years ago. Or down near hoodoo

@@leviconnelly79 I've done a mission over Suttle Lake. Not so much on anywhere else near Willamette Pass. Unfortunately, I've found this area hard to access for good shots owing to range/BVLOS issues. But, yes, Willamette Pass has a wide swath of airspace not over a wilderness area. McKenzie Pass is pretty much limited to the airspace directly over the pass road. Between the wilderness areas, wildlife preserves, national park/monuments airspace and conventional airspace designations, Oregon is puzzle. But, a puzzle worth solving. Drone on.
@@edruttledge342 I use Air Aware and Air Control apps. And common sense. The puzzle is definitely there. Good luck 🍀 happy flying. I'm sure the FAA will soon allow us to own drones but only on a display shelf. 🙌

Nice video! Do you use any ND filters and what is the visor type thing you lift up around 3:31 in the video? Did that come with your controller? Looks like it would be nice to help block the sun. I am just getting started so trying to learn all the little things. :)
Thank you for watching! I do not use any filters. I typically reduce the exposure to -0.3 and then add color during editing. I bought that controller cover on Amazon to protect the sticks during travel and provide shade from the sun. Good luck! and happy flying

Great video! What a "holy crap" moment watching the drone just decide to fly itself into the branches LOL. I had to watch mine spiral on screen to its demise. Such a sinking feeling. Glad there was no damage and she still flies.
Glad you enjoyed it! I agree that the feeling is definitely sinking 😞 and with 360 obstacle avoidance I was surprised 😮 but yes very happy she is ok 😁 just a new set of blades 🙏🌲
