Restore Nature Now Event 22nd June
We marched in solidarity with somewhere between 80-100k people, individuals and people from 350 groups from all over the UK at the #RestoreNatureNow Event in London on Saturday 22nd June. It was the largest gathering of people for nature and climate the UK has ever seen. Nature restoration must be a priority for new government. That's why people from all over the UK stood together with other nature and climate charities, and marched to highlight nature as a key focus for future leaders.
We were delighted to join our colleagues from the Climate Reality Leadership Corp, WWF, Wildlife Trust, RSPB to name a few and groups from the South East like Greening Steyning, Horsham Eco Churches, Circu...

Uniform can be simply made into branded cushions, for school reception or reading areas, or why not create some branded bunting for use at school events. Watch our video to find out how ea...

A noble cause, pity Horsham District council is busily covering what's left of West Sussex under concrete and tarmac. Perhaps we should recycle them, turn them into people who actually care.

We would love to see no more building in our district however with rising population, people living longer and more single occupancy homes there is a need. With the water neutrality situation in the south east housing is currently on hold, which is a good thing as we think it is making everyone think about the urgent need to build with the environment in mind. This is an interesting explanation of building with water consumption in mind www.energy.gov/eere/femp/net-zero-water-building-strategies. This is another interesting change afoot New homes and buildings in England will have to produce significantly less CO2 under new rules announced by the government to help the country move towards net zero.

@@SussexGreenLiving love the phrase 'build with the environment in mind'! Which bit? Certainly not the rural environment. I was brought up in Billingshurst village, which is now a town in size and a permanent building site, Horsham and Crawley are close to becoming one, and you are expanding towards southwater along the Worthing road at a pace, no doubt we can look forward to net zero suburbs stretching from London to Chichester.

Two questions: 1. In this discussion, it was said that you can recycle plastic again and again forever. I wonder I have always been told that ordinary types of plastic cannot be recycled repeatedly, because it degrades when it is recycled over time. Plastics are mechanically ground up and made into lower-quality plastics. For instance, a clear plastic bottle, when reprocessed, has to be used as a lower grade of plastic, such as a carpet or a fleece. In order to use it for the same type of use, you need to add new materials and conditioners. 2. It was said that all the plastic that has been ever produced is still with us today. But what about the one that has been incinerated?

Hi Robert, Thank you for sharing those shocking statistics and expanding on my 10 minute video, an excellent idea to make the urgent nature of the climate crisis clear for all to see. I produced this video for the Worthing & Adur Councils Climate Assembly and had to convey the environmental effects of the fast fashion industry in 5-10 minutes, that is very tricky, hence I did not talk about global warming or the climate crisis. Thanks. Onwards and upwards with our work! Cheers Carrie
